Nice triple size issue that helps Moon Knight over a big reveal by the end. It also shows just how great MacKay's run is with this character. Moon Knight can be vicious but also caring, which is so odd. On top of that his enemies' are actually interesting, yes even a dude with a 8 Ball on his head. This is Moon Knight's strongest run ever, and that's coming from someone who's read almost everything Moon Knight now.

Geez, this book is a extremely screwed up yet works so well.

Basically Izzy and Razorwark are working together, while Hilo and DJ are finding out all that happened while also trying to return home. Got some really funny moments too with Gina and the families. However, things get real when the Razorwark plans go into action on top of Hilo and DJ returning.

Some excellent emotional parts that actually made me excited reading out loud to my daughter. Sailor (My daughter) was trying to understand if Razorwark was really bad. At this point her question is if they hurt Razorwark's friends, he should be mad. So why is he bad? And that's a excellent question. The characters here aren't just bad or good, making this a really interesting read. And if a 4 year old can question it, shouldn't we all?

Big, bombastic, emotional, and sad even, this is the best book in this series.

FUN FUN FUN.

I had faith in Waid to produce some GOOD Teen Titan work again and sure enough he did. Basically a retelling of the early days of Teen Titans but modernized with cell phones, live streaming, and more. Makes the situations funnier, especially with Roy, and all the characters have their voice that makes them interesting. Art is excellent and the end leaves me wanting more. This is a great first issue.

New 2023 Review: Obviously my 2023 brain disagrees with my 2015 brain LOL. But I really enjoyed this, while not perfect, fun end to Morrison's first 3 part epic on Batman.

Basically we have Doctor Hurt, the leader of the Black Glove, unleashing his full on plan against Batman. This starts with Batman losing himself to himself, and releasing Zur-En-Arrh. A much more vicious, more pedal to the metal type batman. He comes in with a Bat most of the times and swings away. This stuff is actually really intriguing and helps make this Batman alot more fierce.

At the same time we do have some good moments with Damien, Nightwing, and Tim and even the crew from the Black Glove mystery story. And the Joker is creepy as all hell here.

But I do feel Doctor Hurt's plan is too big and convoluted half the time. And he's not as interesting as all the other players in this game, letting me down with his weak ending overall.

But RIP remains entertaining throughout with some great moments and art. A 3.5 out of 5.


Original 2015 Review: This is by far the worst bat man story I've read. Chopping pacing, confusing, bad fights, stupid metaphors, a boring finale, and a horrible twist. So glad I read new 52 first otherwise I'd never pick up another bat man comic.

My 800th book of the year! I hit my goal! YAY!

So onto Batman by Grant Morrison. There's 3 major parts to his run and this one basically is the Bruce Wayne part of it. And so we begin with Bruce trying to be more...well Bruce. He's Batman so much even his own Butler is like, Bruce, stop doing the deep heavy voice like your Batman all the time.

But soon we get introduced to Damien. This is Batman's son and oh boy, the reveal is pretty great. We have Batman facing off against a bunch of Man Bats and then bam, after waking up, he's left with Damien having a sword to his neck and introducing himself.

This leads to Bruce taking him in and trying to figure out what to do. But this is Damien trained by the league and his insane mother, so he's vicious, a asshole, and beats the living shit out of Tim and even offends alfred. So that's a big HELL no. The arc is insanely fun and has great moments throughout and my favorite of the bunch in here.

Soon after we revert to the Black Glove mystery arc. This almost feels scooby doo but in a fun way. A nice twist at the end, great art, and a more fun story than I originally thought was great. If like the light hearted part of a Batman story this one might hit the check mark for you! Oh and also we get Tim as Robin more and that's wonderful.

Then we head into a arc that introduces the concept of Batman training 3 cops to help take down crime incase he wasn't able to. And one of these cops, fully dressed up as a Batman, come into play and try to hunt down Bruce. It's pretty great, little mind twisty, and a fantastic payoff that helps build up the RIP arc next.

And RIP is Doctor Hurt, a person who hates both Batman and Bruce, going after Bruce where it hurts. Taking aim for his mind. And when Bruce is near insane, he unleashed a much more sinister, no holds bar Batman who WILL get shit done. So this crazy last arc leads to Bruce going head to head with the Black Glove organization in a nice bloody battle.

Overall this volume was a lot stronger than when I read it in 2015. It holds up, but even more so it reads better after years of reading Batman stories from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. The mixture of fun, violent, and over the top adventures really help Morrison have a ton of fun with this cast. On top of that some of the best Batman art ever is here by Tony Daniels, and many more. And overall this is just a fast paced really fun Omnibus that I read in 3 days.

If like Batman and read a decent amount I think this is well worth jumping into. It has flaws like sometimes sloppy and confusing jumping scene scene that Morrison is known for. Also it doesn't take itself too seriously and can be overly goofy at times. And the Black Glove arc in the middle is the weakest portion.

But still so fun and worth reading. And originally would have rated this a overall 2 out of 5 storyline but now re-reading this all 8 years later it is a easy 3.5 out of 5 and well worth the admission price for this one.

Another solid build up issue. I like what Jed's doing with each member getting their chance to shine but the plot doesn't move forward very fast here if I'm being honest.

We get a nice back and forth, for which you believe are flashbacks, that really do show a good reveal. Also enjoyed the hell out of Wonder Woman here and her kicking the ever living shit out of the US Army. Good stuff.

Again, no real feeling towards the overall villain and actually the plot but the interactions between Flash and Robin, Or Superman and Batman or Green Arrow are all great. Also excellent art as always.

This was a strong come back issue. Basically Hal is trying to be decent, but good old Senistro is back and ready to screw things up. Great art, solid storytelling, good pacing.

Hunters Moon gets much needed issue to build him up. This is the first time I actually really enjoyed him as a character. Getting to know him more, he's becoming more interesting. I will say they're telegraphing Marc's death pretty heavy tho.
