Moon Knight and Venom team up I didn't know I needed. Excellent character moments and gorgeous art. What a great issue.
A kind of sad one issue tale of a villain who wasn't all that bad but did bad things? Really enjoyable. Mackay is one of the best right now for single issues.
The first half is great. The brotherhood of dada is both hilarious and somewhat scary. And the two one shots, one featuring Crazy Jane and another a certain money in love with a brain work well. The cult storyline is weird as fuck and kind of boring and sadly takes up too many issues.
Ice Cream Man is always iffy because sometimes get great stuff, sometimes not so great. This one is split.
The first two stories are just okay. The first story is interesting enough, thinking what happens when we die and who gets what, but feels like it misses the landing. The second story is honestly boring and I didn't give a shit about anyone.
But the final two stories are strong. One is about the greatest and most unbeatable foe of all humanity. Death. And we basically live through two characters and their lives, and see the struggles and hardships and the wonderful moments too. A touching story really even with death looming over us all.
The last story is about a drug addict trying to do better but most people, even his own wife, doubt it. Only him and his daughter have some hope, but is that enough to get through it all?
Ice Cream Man can be amazing, but not always. And this is a good example of two okay stories, and two great ones, making the entire volume just good. But overall worth the read! A 3 out of 5.

Just when I thought this could be the next Morrison series I love this volume is almost unreadable. Strip away all good character moments, every other turn and event is fucking weird to point I don't care and worst of all...it's boring.
Sadly this just wasn't for me. The first few arcs were solid but got worse and worse, way too weird for me, to the point I had to close this book and put it up for sale immediately.
This was great. I read this all the way back in 2015 and liked it but did not love it. This time with years and years of batman stuff now in my mind this was really fun and exciting. Damien is a great foil for Bruce, and Batman is actually pretty funny here. On top of that you get a jacked up bane in a bat suit who kicks the shit out of Bruce. Great times all around. The joker short novel-like story was a drag though.
Gotta say this was a bland start. Sucks coming off of Thompson run this feels weak and Carol doesn’t even feel like the focus.
Honestly much better this time around. The first half is a murder mystery that's actually really fun. Not gritty just who done it feel with a satisfying end. The second half we get someone dressed as Batman coming for him. The reveal of why is fucked up but makes total sense for someone like Bruce.
Can't believe how much I'm enjoying this run this time.

A really pretty and mostly enjoyable storyline.
Basically a boy's family is murdered and soon the demons or monsters who did it will come for him. But he summons a Boogyman, the Boogyman, to help him, who's been watching over him for years. Leading to basically running and surviving storyline with some brutal fights and flashy art. I think the story lacked the punch I hoped for overall but the art is always fun and exciting. A 3 out of 5.
