A solid volume basically giving Lady Bullseye her mission to get the next leader of The Hand.

Matt is breaking down, Milla is taken away, his friends are trying to come to him for help but he's digging himself deeper and deeper into depression and hell. It's great to watch Matt try his best while Lady Bullseye makes her move. I didn't love the introduction of a ancient warrior similar to Stick popping up but besides that a highly entertaining volume.

Brubaker's run ends on a solid, interesting note, even if it feels a bit rushed.

Basically the hand puts the pressure on getting a new leader. Even going after Kingpin and making him return back to America to take on Daredevil. With lots of planning from different bad guys Matt has to go inward, separating himself even more, to the point of isolation but is this the correct path to go on?

It's a dark chapter for sure. I really enjoyed Fisk backstory of where he was. I also dug Matt being more cunning and brutal than before. The whole plan of everyone though felt a little iffy, kind of too easy and too quickly paced, it felt like Brubaker wanted to jump off the title quicker than taking his time to finish.

Overall though a very very solid ending.

With this being one of the smallest Omnibus I own I'm surprised how solid it really is.

Brubaker continues his run of Matt trying to pick up the pieces from the events of the last volume. No spoilers, but a major part of Matt's life got really fucked up thanks to a villain of his ruining everything for him. With Matt starting this volume in despair, basically going out in the streets fucking everyone up who ever crossed him, we see a man on the edge of a mental breakdown. And this volume smartly has Matt balance his superhero fighting with his court room drama and investigation storylines to put together a excellent first arc here.

However as we get deeper in we get introduced to a major character in Brubaker's Daredevil mythos, lady Bullseye. This one is not AS insane as the actual bullseye but very deadly. Coming after Matt but not for the reasons you might suspect. The overall final two arcs center around her ambitions and her goals for Matt but also The Hand. Leaving Matt going to darker places than ever before for the sake of himself but also everyone around him.

The ending feels a bit rushed I will say. It almost feels like Brubaker either wanted to hop off sooner or marvel needed him off sooner, and it's my only negative.

This ends in a depressing way but makes so much sense after the events of both Bendis and Brubaker's run. Out of all the runs of Daredevil these two runs back to back really feel like one big epic that I love so much. Hell you can even count the Kevin Smith run too that started the feel and it still really works.

If you liked the previous volume I have no doubt you'll enjoy this one a lot. A 4 out of 5.

2023 Review: So upon re-read I enjoyed this more but still around a 3-3.5. The art is solid, Miles is fun, the conversation about fat vs race is still dumb, and the ending not as good as the first 3 issues, but overall a fun start for the 616 universe to let Miles grow.

Original Review: I read all of the Ultimate line Miles, and reading the current Miles storyline, but never did get a chance to read the middle when Bendis wrote Miles for the last time.

This is pretty good but nothing remarkable. Bendis fits Miles into the main Marvel Universe pretty easy. He has his friend Ganke, his mother is back alive, his father still worked for Shield, so nothing major changes. He goes to school and tries to live his best life...that is until a former X-Men joins the school and things spiral.

I think there's some great fight scenes here, I like SOME of the conversations, and the art is solid. What Bendis tries too hard here is to add in the "I'm fat no one likes me" and "Dude I'm black, try to live that" back and forth and it just doesn't work. Even as teenagers it seems forced. Like I'm a pretty big guy, I'd never say something as stupid as "Try being fat it's the same as being Black in America" Like what?

But anyway, it was okay besides that. I can see why people wanted Bendis off this after awhile, he's running out of stories here.

Miles has to decide which side he's on.

We did this with the first civil war. Now we do it again, as Miles has to choose what he believes in. Both would be using him but when the vision comes out of him killing Captain America, things get extra screwed up. Miles is at a loss, his grandmother hired Jessica Jones to find out who he is, and love troubles for Ganke.

Overall a decent volume, some fun moments, and I really do like Miles and his boys. But man oh man, some of the dialogue from Jessica and Luke is corny as hell, and the whole Tony Stark using Miles was too obvious. I dunno what happen, but Bendis doesn't write Jessica and Luke like he did despite making them famous.

Anyway overall a decent arc and some fun times.

New Review: Pretty much same as before. Fun, silly, and cute moments. It's a nice time traveling story that wraps up and you don't have to read anything before or after to enjoy it.

Original Review: This was pretty cute.

So there's two sides to the story here. We go back and forth between two different writers telling one tale of Miles and Gwen teaming up. Who doesn't love a Spidy teamup? So Miles dad has gone missing and he has to start jumping realities. Soon up he meets up with Gwen and they begin whooping butt. However, is there love in the air?

Good: I like Miles and his boys. They feel like high school kids. Watching Gwen and Miles almost kiss, then kiss, and like each other a lot is cute and fun. Gwen is great, her fighting style more advance than miles, and watching him admire her was sweet.

Bad: The switch in art styles is kind of jarring. The ending felt almost made it feel kind of like pointless in a way.

Overall it's a lot of fun but not amazing. I like Miles and Gwen together. When she comes to 616 soon forever hope they get together. A 3 out of 5.

Read some of this back in the day when was just a webcomic in the day.

This is a brutal look into a deranged sicko who cuts people up and kills them. And a guy who falls for this killer by stalking him only to get kidnapped and tortured by this Psycho. It's weird, has nasty kills, and some gay sex thrown in. This isn't for the faint of heart but it is a good horror book.

The Great Boom is the weakest book so far in this series but still fun.

Basically we have Polly and her world and tribe. I wasn't all that interested in her or her story or her people. The Cat Tribe isn't fun like the rest of the characters. Saying that Gina becomes better and DJ and Hilo's development is great. I also really like the flashbacks overall. It's just probably more uneven than I would have liked. Even my daughter (Sailor, she's 4) got a little bored in the middle.

This is a great comeback for the series!

Hilo gets his sister back and things get even more zanny and fun when Hilo becomes a superhero! Not only that but Gina now knows magic and she becomes a hero too! Some great twist and turns and Razorwark reveal is insane and made both myself and Sailor gasp. I love this series and so does my daughter. Highly recommended.
