A wonderful follow-up to one of the funniest comics ever created.

This basically has Owen and his crazy ass Axe and two friend join him on an adventure to exact revenge on a old nemesis who really fucked over Owen in the pass. This is as bloody, fun, and exciting as the first, with plenty of laugh out loud moments. Owen and the Axe are the highlight but I also really like the entire crew here. I can't wait for book 3!

A lot stronger volume than the last.

We really focus on Hyakurin for a nice portion and it is NOT easy to read. Prepare for torture, rape, and PDST. While that's happening we have Maji dealing with healing and then dealing with Shira crazy fucking ass returning. We also have the return of Taito who is going after Shira. So there's a ton of survival of the fittest. Brutal fights all around.

The marriage story with Kagehisa seems weird but maybe interesting later?

Rin takes a back seat here.

But a stronger showcase this time around with some great fights and deaths.

One of my favorite debut novels ever.

Usually takes me awhile to get sucked into a world and themes of a story but Evan Winter decides to throw us into the chaos from the jump. Showing the cruel and brutal world we have in this book with waring factions, the Omehi which are filled with commons and nobles and their gifted (Basically mystical woman who have powers) as they break through and kill the savages.

The main story focuses on Tau, a common with no gifts, semi-weak, and a strong-willed father to push him through life. Tau doesn't have much going for him, and he really wants to just skate by at the start of it all in life, avoiding war if possible.

That changes though, as events unfold and people are slaughter for the smallest thing. This undeserving fate leads Tau down a path of vengeance. Declaring death upon those who have done him wrong. He trains and fights in a military function only to gain person strength to kill all those who have done him wrong.

While the story itself seems typical in a sense, the characters, settings, and tone are excellent. We get great pacing with brutal battles that rekindled my flame of novel fights the same way the Red Rising series did. Every battle you could feel the crunch and bones breaking, heads splitting, blood spraying, and you either love or not, but it works so well.

Tau is a excellent character IMO of someone who fights his way to the top. Never does it feel like he isn't deserving of the strength and raw power he gains through hard work and determination. The side cast is also well done, and while some meet a swift and brutal faith, a lot of them stick with you with only a couple of scenes.

I do hope in the next book we get a bit more bonding and understanding of the side cast. I like them but I want to grow to love them like I did Tau.

The setting is excellent. Basically Black Panther and Game of Thrones had a baby, with the intensity of Red Rising battles, and you have this special gift to us. Do yourself and read this if you like fantasy just a bit. It's not usually my genre but this is EXCELLENT.

While bit weaker than last arc we have Matt travel around the world trying to locate who killed Foggy.

At the same time we learn what really happen to Foggy and how his "death' was a coverup. The real person behind it all is a bit of a surprise but I really like how Brubaker played it here. And while the story leading up to the reveal wasn't the strongest the reveal and after issue were excellent. A 4 out of 5.

Solid start and good chemistry but just okay plot.

Like this volume a lot because of how unhinged Matt is becoming.

It's like every time Matt tries to get a hold of his life, get it back on track, something comes along to fuck it all up. It's no different this time, with a lot of assholes making a move for Matt and destroying him piece by piece. But it's the one behind it all that really hits home for Matt and his life is about to become so much worse.

A 4 out of 5.

An interesting change of direction.

Switching it up and having different players having to work together can make some really exciting future plays. I really wonder how this is all going to go. Blue Lock continues to be an extremely over the top but fun time for a sports manga.

Solid start to what could be a great story. Basically a kid who has an imaginary series killer Jason looking dude might have been able to bring him into the real world. Sounds fun, huh?

What happens when the aliens come to earth?

Radiant Black continues to be great entertainment but I have to say as we get more sci-fi, and oh boy do we get sci-fi this volume, it gets a bit much for me at those points. Just feels weird for the sake of it.

I think Radiant Black works best when it focuses on the lead characters and their personal missions in life. What they're working towards as a team to survive what's coming but also everyday issues and problems, feels more down to earth, and I love those moments.

Art remains real solid with some great fight scenes to boot.

A 3.5 out of 5.

Learning the process even more on cosplaying especially for someone in drag is highly entertaining and interesting. I believe sometimes the exposition dump can be heavy but overall the effect and touching moments balance those out.

I also enjoyed the ending and the two really need to get together...JUST DO IT already!

But overall if liked the previous 5 volumes you'll for sure enjoy this.
