This one kind of had me drifting.
It wasn't bad or anything just not as interesting as I hoped. It felt like Jed got the message this series would end on issue 10 and had to push forward quickly. It had nice moments, especially the finale with mom, really enjoyed that moment. But most felt quickly glanced over and the relationship subline was just okay.
Overall a decent but not great ending. A 3 out of 5.

Really fun book.
It's basic idea that 8 Billion people get ONE wish is great. And watching the effects of so many pick is wonderful. As you can guess, the entire world pretty much goes to shit pretty quickly. And the first few issues take place in a bar, that is safe from these wishes, because the first wish to be said was to protect it, making the area interesting. About half way we shift focus to the entire world and things speed up, years fly by, and we get lifetimes of wishes and what happened.

Ladies on Top is a interesting look into a woman who wants to be dominate and a man who wants to be dominated, but neither can come to terms on what they want.

Both characters here having many issues even having sex because of their past relationships and the norms that people put on others. I really liked to see them going through the motions of trying to feel each other out and do what each other wants, but also trying to be true to themselves. I wonder how this will go but a solid opening, a 3.5, I'll bump it to a 4.

A really good issue! Love that Hal and Ollie have to react to each others past and some great art to boost. Overall really enjoyable issue.
A really solid set up issue for the future of the new ultimates universe. Howard Stark is actually a really likeable and interesting character in this, the ending leaves me wondering where we'll go from here, and excited for the new ultimate universe.
Iron Cat is a decent spin off of the events from Jed Mackay's run on Black Cat. I will say though the storyline feels like it just keeps going on and on, especially after issue 3. I could of had this cut to a 3 issue mini and it would have worked better. But still pretty to look at and fun to watch.
New review: Pretty much same feelings, except I enjoyed it a bit more. Closer to a 3.5 but it is the weakest volume in the series for me.
Old Review: I think I really need to go back and re-read volume 1 cause found the start pretty confusing. I'm sure it would connect more if I did that as well. ANYHOW...
This volume starts off with the arena again. Remember that place? Where our favorite hero died in Volume 1? Well we go back there and the series decides to give us a character who was mostly in the background some spotlight and later surprises us. The rest of the volume focuses on Tojo (Sorry if spelling it wrong) survived the last volume (no big spoiler there. If she didn't we'd have no characters to follow) and she is mostly on a high speed chase to get revenge to what happened to her. A lot of this volume actually is very fast paced action set pieces with a big ending that sets up the series in a interesting direction.
Good: I believe the art is getting better and better as it goes on. I also really enjoy the daughter because she's compelling and interesting. I loved the high speed chase, it was well done. The ending also got me hopeful this series direction and what we're in for next.
Bad: The volume felt very short (4 issues?) and being faced paced felt lacking there. Also the twist with IO was kind of silly. I loved the series for the balls it had to kill off characters, don't go back on that Rick!
Overall this was a solid fun volume with a more hopeful outlook than the 3 previous volumes. While I didn't love it like Volume 2-3 I did enjoy it as much as one. I think a re-read soon of this series would be good since they are spaced out so far from each other in release date wise.

I'm so glad I didn't read this till I re-read the entire series cause the conclusion is so much more meaningful reading it in a row.
This final arc is bombastic in a huge scale sense. A lot is happening, the return of a sister, the reveal of someone alive, the fight for HOPE. The fight for survival. The fight for the future and our children. Everything worked so well here as a cumulation of the entire series. I don't want to spoil everything, but even till the second to last issue get that signature twist and turns Remender loves to do but also the downright epic sense of scale and determination for multiple characters. This is a classic IMO and one of Remender's best. A 5 out of 5.

A great second half. While the first half of this volume was a bit weaker than the rest of the series it still sets things up nicely. But the final 6 issues are excellent. They showcase a whole new civilization in a great way, epic moments of death and triumph. Forgiveness and hope. Love and conquer. So many emotions, so many themes. If you read Book One and Two together, this is a epic classic adventure of survival and hope that I could NOT get enough of.
Black Cat hasn't really had a long running series ever.
Jed MacKay, the man getting ton of fame for his current Moon Knight and now Avengers title. But before all that he was writing a little titled called Black Cat before covid, and even though Covid fucked up his flow and numbering, he still put out a 25+ issue series, newest one being the Iron Cat mini series released just this year.
So what's Black Cat about? Well it's Falicia and her big heist against superheroes and villains. She has a crew, she works swift and clean, and decides to do her best having fun robbing people. The first arc sets her up as a master thief but slowly gives us glimpses into her past, learning about the Fox, her mentor, and just her overall childhood and how she became what she is. Each arc is short, only being 2-4 issues, but all feel completed and fun.
Fun would be the key word here. From the snappy dialogue to the excellent showcase in art and lively tone and mood of the series, we get something a lot of comics sometimes forget to do. Have fun. These aren't super deep stories, and while I thought there was one excellent one that had to do with Cat's mentor, most were fluffy and fun.
I will say the mini series at the end dragged and the final arc of the series was a bit weaker than what came before. But even at their worst they're still solid good time, and that matters.
While not a perfect Omnibus I think it's a ton of fun. Somewhere between a 3 and a 3.5 for me personally. Hard to pin point exactly where I'd rate it on any given day but if you're a fan of heist, fun comics, and a sexy lead, this one might be for you.
