The art is still great. The dialogue still solid. But the plot is losing me. I'm not sure this being a 13 part arc is the best idea. The American "Dream" idea is kind of cool but not all that interesting in the end.

A big let down from a great first volume. Art still very solid but storytelling is extremely boring with the characters from the last volume barely resembling who they were in the first. The superhero twist was great in the first book but I feel like it didn't live up to it at all in this volume. Very disanointing volume.

A meh return for our heroes after being slaughtered by onslaught. I think this mumble jumble, confusing for no other reasons than to be confusing, event really was weak. I did enjoy a couple of moments, mostly due to the Hulk and even the Man Thing, but the rest felt really boring to read, especially the second half.

Great art, solid start, then the issue dragged and I didn't give a single fuck about any of these pirates or their stories. Hoping it picks up in the next issue.

Not as strong as the first volume. I did enjoy we got a background but it went exactly how I expected.

I will say I liked the new lore on vampires and why some age and why some don't. It makes sense.

I still enjoy the central cast of vampires and the way to stop the bloodshed was actually pretty unique and enjoyable.

It felt like it wrapped up plotlines a bit too quick at points and wasn't sure they meant to do so. But art stayed solid and enjoyable. I'd read again in a complete format.

What happened here?

This is not the hulk I was loving the last two Omnibus. This starts off right where the last one left off. But as soon as we get into some fun storylines of Hulk getting kidnapped, soon into it we have Hulk having to stop Onslaught. That's right. For years Hulk was able to avoid those terrible crossovers. He was doing his own thing. But he too gets sucked into the marvel line event that changed everything. And so when Onslaught kills a bunch of major heroes, Bruce banner and Hulk get separated and Bruce disappears with the avengers, fantastic four, and more. Leaving hulk as basically a shell of his former self.

And a good chunk of this book is this hollow version of hulk. Boring, question his existence, fighting for no reason, taking over islands, protecting those people for no reason, and then being moody and grumpy the entire time. None of is registers as the fun storylines we were given the last few years by Peter David. But then after reading through this we get to Heroes Return which is a garbage event for the most part. Hulk's part is important, or semi-important, but not all that interesting. But Bruce and Hulk fuse back together again.

You'd think this would give us fun storylines again. Nope. General Ross returns because comics love to bring back the dead. And in doing so we have some dull storylines where Ross tries to be a decent human being. But a few issues in, well the end of Peter David's run, something horrible happens and the run ends returning Ross back to what he was.

This whole volume felt extremely disjointed. One or two one shots were decent, and I really liked the art at some points towards the end, but this was easily one of the weakest Omnibus I've read in some time. It lacks the good storyline from last few volumes, and the art in the middle is horrendous, big, bulky, and ugly. This is a really disappointing Omnibus for me.

A 1.5 out of 5. I'll bump it to a 2 for some of the ending art.

New 2023 Review - REALLY enjoyed this a lot the second time around. Excellent characters with the message of having hope through the darkness. And just because there is hope doesn't mean bad things don't happen, just means might find a way through it all, even the worst parts of life. Malik and his mom are the standouts but really every character gets to shine. Art still a bit hard to follow but it is really unique.

Original Review: The second half is far stronger than the first. It starts off confusing but soon gets its groove and by the end I wanted more. like to dive deeper into this world. Also the ending got me excited for volume 2.

New review: pretty much the same thoughts. Dark and fucked up but through it we don't give it hope. The mom is so good in this, and the daughters are so well balanced with being morally gray.

This made me so sad...because this book is fucking depression...I love it. I really freaking love it. Life is a bitch, yet the main character never let's that stop her. A mother who wants nothing more than to unite her kids together. Fight back. Be strong. However, bad shit happens. Again and again. Never to be freaking happy but it makes it addicting. My only gripe is this needed a least one more issue. Way to small but overall still engaging like the first volume.

Not as strong as the first volume but still a lot of fun. I love the voice Jackson Lanzing has for Steve and just the overall dialogue is top notch. Art is solid throughout, some really great fight scenes, but this one goes grand and big a bit too much losing the flavor we had from volume 1 and more superish instead of spy thriller.

Happy Batman Day!

So this is a story of a killer who dresses like a wild cat and slashes people. Mostly woman. He wants them all dead because of his fucked up childhood and insane mom. It's simple in nature but it's fun watching Batman and Catwoman first forming a bond of working together to stop scum. It's brutal in nature, and touches on politics that I was surprised it had the balls to do in the 90s. Overall, good stuff, solid art, and enjoyable read. A 3.5 out of 5, I'll bump it to a 4.
