A solid but uneven volume.
It starts excellent with getting the past of another Iron Fist and her jounary through life. Was both fun, cute, and brutal all rolled up in one. Loved that one. Then we get back to Danny, who is focusing on learning new moves and doing this tournament but the tournament seems like just a sideshow for him to discover what's really happening behind the scene and with Davos, but it's not as interesting as I hoped but still I'm in it to see the end.
But the annual is awful, and the art is so wildly different and not nearly as good as the rest of the book.

MEGA CUTE!!!!!!!!!
Sometimes I just need a cute book to read between my action packed murder fest I usaully read. This is about Morio, a gangster looking kid with a heart of gold and Yukiko, a girl who is nearly blind. Together they find each other and so begins their rough and silly adventures as they begin to get attached to one another.
There's a lot of really cute/funny moments. Morio being such a nice, helpful, and interesting guy helps boost this a lot. That and he's funny too. Yukiko is adorable, and I want to protect her at all cost. Them together? Like her big sister says, CUTE!
It's silly, fun, and all the happiness I need sometimes. A 4.5 out of 5.

This was really fun. Kind of a Frankenstein story with a buddy cop routine. Some real fun stuff and a nice one shot storyline.
2023 Review - Better reading it now but still unbalanced. Where's I think everyone gathering and the big fight is great, and Thanos being a Mad Titan that fits his name so well, is great, the last two issues feel too zanny and far out there without the grounded feel of first 4 issues. Saying that I enjoyed it overall and bumped it to a 3.
Original Review: Well I just had to finally sit down and read this before Infinity War. Thoughts? It's not bad.
Basically Thanos wants to prove to death his worth. So what does he do? Well he kills a lot of motherfuckers. There's a huge moment where basically every avenger ever plus some all go to fight the big badass but he simply swats and beats them away. Killing a ton shit. Of course they'll come back but before that he stomps out most of them.
Good: Liked watching Thanos beat the fuck out of everyone. I also thought the start was pretty good set up and gave us a lot to worry about.
Bad: Didn't love the art. Sorry, old art is hard for me to enjoy. Looks too goofy. I also thought the ending was exposition out of the ass and I was bored last two issues for sure.
Overall this was okay. Fun, but not as epic as I had hope. I'd probably say worth checking out before the movie but honestly the newer Thanos stories are far better IMO. A 2.5 out of 5.

End of the Brubaker/Fraction era.
Pretty fun series and I do like Danny trying to better himself. His fight was pretty epic, and his end of giving away his money to help many others is very nice. I just didn't care much about the immortal weapons if I'm being honest and their whole story. Also the background stories really didn't work for me this time like they did in the last volume.

I adore this series.
Seriously some of the most fun I've had reading teen superheroes again. This whole book I loved the relationships between everyone, especially how everyone watches each other's back. Doyle is the star of the series for me but even Toth get's a moment to shine, Loki and Emily's mom's competition is hysterical, and I even understood now why the Asgardian boys are kind of assholes.
Overall, fantastic stuff. A 4.5 out of 5.

Avengers is finally back to being great again!
Carol leads this new Avengers as they try to pick up the pieces and bring the gang back together. Carol is written very well here, making us care about her and the team she's trying to build. Bringing in Cap (Sam), Tony, Black Panther and more is great stuff because this team needs to be a A team, in both strength, and experience. I love the fact we also have this entire team trying to help everyone as much as possible while taking on big threats. The ending leaves for some interesting confrontation with a big time villain as well.
A 4 out of 5.

I actually liked this more than the last two volumes in this run. This brings Duane on board for writing duties and it's a lot of fun.
A old mystical creature who has killed Iron Fist users throughout the year is after Danny next after Danny finds out almost every single Iron Fist user dies by 33. This brings a threat to Danny's life as this creature goes after not only him but the kids he's training and his friends. This is exciting, quick paced, kung fu action I wanted. I really enjoyed what's happening, though not sure if I care too much about the "lost" city they're going to next.

A really creepy slow burn of a horror tale.
It's also cool that it takes place in St Augustine Florida where I lived for years. So I recognize some of the places.
It's really two different view points. One a reporter coming to the city to learn more about it and its history. Where the second half is a mom and daughter move into town to take over a restaurant and start their own.
The ending is brutal and I'm wondering what will happen next. A very solid first issue.

I really like Gillian Flynn. She just makes her stories compelling from the start, helps her dialogue is really strong, and the pacing near perfect.
So we start off with our main character talking about giving handjobs. So right off the bat you're hooked, because who doesn't like talking about handjobs? Little do you know that the handjob talk is actually extremely important to the plot and twist. And that's the thing with it, we are twisty turny the whole story.
In comes Susan who is having a million issues in her life, but most of all she believes her house is haunted. So our main character goes to help her in her home exercise demons, who Susan believes has I guessed possessed her step son who is acting aggressive and mean. So our main character agrees to this and of course she's only a handjob expert, not a actual spirit median like she pretends to be.
The ending is great as I guessed the ending until it threw in a DOUBLE fucking surprise that really caught me off guard. On top of that it keeps throwing new surprises and leaves the ending really open for your own conclusion. This made me really enjoy this one. A 4 out of 5.
