A tale of learning your lessons, but it might be too late. I did feel Spectre breaking point was great but the ending felt a little like a cop out compared to the rest of the true natured, and sad results. Still, it was a Christmas special, let's have a little happiness, right?

Oh shit, things are picking up when Spectre loses his shit on a killer, heaven and hell are having enough of him. Then a old enemy comes back and he has plans for good old Spectre. Now things are getting deadly, and disgusting, and I love it. Excellent art and storytelling here.

A decent if not somewhat corny reintroduction to Capt America.

It's weird because Cap here is charming and fun when he's kicking butt or with his friends. But the droning on about feeling out of place and finding his purpose feels so superficial. It's just not the Cap I like to hear about or read about. Sounded just boring and almost whiney here.

I will say the art is nice and colorful, and while cartoony worked for me.

So the dialogue is solid enough but exposition dumps and storyline (plot wise) isn't the strongest, a Skrull invasion with Hydra storyline is just decent.

DNF - This is a dumb fucking event. I hate what they did to Ben. Just so silly after having a serious subject about taking someone memories and identity. I do not like this.

King Spawn spirals into a flip flop of multiple forces coming at Spawn, pushing him to become King. It's messy, overstuffed, but looks great, and still plenty of rage inducing moments for Spawn to rage the fuck out. It's a easy read, even if it's overly confusing for such a simple story. I really liked Spawn kicking the shit out of all the baddies but overall it's a big on the weaker side of plotting and not as intense or scary as volume 1. A 3 out of 5.

A overly long, but still well plotted story of manipulation and distrust. Basically Grifter from Stromwatch is trying to find out one of his friends has a bullet in his head and laying in the coma he is in now. It's pretty gritty, with lots of fake outs, and some shootouts. It feels a issue too long, stretching out a particular subplot that didn't go much of anywhere but a good taste of what's to come from this series. A 3.5 out of 5. I'll bump it to a 4.

A huge epic that is thrilling even if you aren't the biggest DC Nerd.

But if you are? Even better.

My main review on Infinite Crisis covers that portion well enough but the build up deserves some praise too. The intro of countdown to Infinite Crisis is edge of your seat storytelling starring Blue Beetle with a shocking conclusion that sets the tone for the entire year before Infinite Crisis begins. With setting up the villains united, Omac, Sacrifice, and more, every plotline, mistrust, and anger towards each other especially from Superman to Batman to Wonder Woman leads into WHY Infinite crisis is so important and ends up a reflection of the more grim/dark look into the world of DC.

Excellent book with only the "War" arc in space with Adam Strange being the weak link for me.

A 4 out of 5.

Great issue where Marc is dealing with his split personalities trying to come to terms as working as a team while fighting for his life. Good stuff.

Welcome to the world of Sleeper.

Holden Carver is DEEP undercover. Holden Carver is working for Io, basically to help protect people and he goes undercover to inflitrate Tao, a man who runs an empire of evil fucking people basically. And as he gets deeper into this world of crime, murder, and more he learns he's losing his mind in it all.

Feels very much world building this first volume with the first two issues or so being a lot at once but you get the idea by the end. The story really starts to blow up on the third issue onward when we get to know the players, the game we're playing, and how high stakes this whole operation really is. By the end, we're on the fence who's good and who's bad finally and a fucked up choice that can leave Carver in bad shape.

I loved 90% of this. Took a bit to get into it but once I did, I wanted more. A 4.5 out of 5.

Art is great, story is solid, but it's just not hooking me completely. Kind of feels like a breezy read verses one that gets the heart of supes.
