So at the start we have Denji who is trying to survive. He'll do pretty much anything for some money. He also has his trusty dog Pochita, who has a actual chainsaw coming out of his freaking head. So together they kill devils and make money. But one day something horrible happens to Denji and Pochita must do something to save him. Tus Chainsaw Man is born!

And with that, this insane manga keeps going. I'll be honest first chapter or two I enjoyed but didn't love. However, when they began to bring in a great supporting cast and insane battles the manga kept getting better and better. The humor also kept increasing, but in the right way, and I began laughing at a few parts every chapter.

Listen, turn your brain off, pick up Chainsaw Man, and enjoy. It's a insane action, battle manga, bloody good time. A 4 out o 5.

It's amazing 14 volumes in that this series still is such high quality.

This time Hammerhead is making a move on Kingpin since the big guy can't do much do to being in the public eye too much. This leaves Spider-Man trying to stop Hammerhead but also not wanting to help Kingpin. On top of that this introduces Moon Knight as well as Iron Fist and Shang-Chi. So we have a lot of characters coming into the fold on top of Black Cat and Elecktra returning.

It's a wild adventure with some funny as hell moments of Spidy faces off against everyone. Awesome fights, fun quips, and Peter at the breaking point of losing his mind and maybe even a place to stay. I love the ending to this. My only negative is how mean he is to Mary Jane sometimes. But Teenagers are dumb.

A 4 out of 5.

I kind of loved the twist here.

So we start with Peter hanging out with Kitty and them starting to like each other. It's really cute but also a smart idea, as Peter's whole reasoning behind not dating MJ is because she can be in danger, and Kitty can protect herself. Then we get into Silver Stable, and her goons, and instead of being smart and intelligent, they're kind of morons who fuck up a lot.

It's a really funny volume with lots of old school Spidy feels. It's not the greatest volume, and no earthshattering events, but that's okay. Sometimes simple Spider-man tales are my favorite kind. A 3.5 out of 5.

This is a weird volume. The first issue is real solid, with Kitty and Peter teaming up to take down some crime. Overall real good stuff. But then Deadpool comes into the picture, and this Deadpool has a crew to make a TV show about surviving and...it's really dull. Maybe the most dull arc of the entire series IMO. Luckily we turn things around at the end with some Daredevil team ups, Moon Knight returns, the asshole Punisher exacting revenge and more. All some really solid stuff by the end atleast.

A 3 out of 5.

Holy shit was this good.

It's amazing because the first 25 issues of this Omnibus, Marc Spector, is mostly run of the mill superhero stuff. Nothing special, kind of the same old you expect from Chuck Dixon, but then in comes Dematteis and he decides to give the vibe of the 80's Moon Knight and bring back the tone of Doug's run, and it's so damn good.

Scarlet has returned and Moon Knight is connected to her on a spiritual level. They are even inside each others head. But soon into the book we can see Scarlet is trying to draw out the monster within Moon Knight despite Moon Knight trying to reign back in that darker side of him. The accumlation of this entire 5 part series and epilogue, makes for a haunting tale of superheroism and wanting to do what's right. A bitter end to characters, and a classic Moon Knight story IMO.

Overall, excellent stuff.

2023 Re-read: Still fantastic. Basically a world building book after the core series is completed, and really flushes out so much with different perspectives this time around. A Harrowing ending that only builds to that, and then Dark Age, which absolutely crushes it. Can't wait to re-read that piece, but this is a excellent set-up book.

I think it's safe to say Red Rising series will go down as one of my favorite series ever created in any medium.

Pierce Brown has created such a vast and interesting world, with so many multilayered characters that it's hard not to be envious. When I finished Morning Star (The third title) I told myself I'm glad it's over, a great finishing chapter. Then came Iron Gold and I forgot how MUCH I freaking love this universe.

So it's 10 years after the events of morning star. The universe is not at peace. Sure some things are better for sure. However, the universe is still very much at war with itself. Darrow is trying to hold it all together but the political game has gone too far, too quick, and heads begin to roll. This book also introduces 3 new points of view. Lysander, who you might remember from Morning Star as the young gold boy who was being raised by the insane sovereign bitch. Lyria the red who is very similar to Darrow at the start in the red rising but can see how different she truly is. Ephraim, a broken man who lost almost everything but instead of pity himself decides to dish it back by being a thief of sorts. Somehow all these people collide into one big mash of hell over the entire universe.

Good: Each character is given time to grow and breath. Each so different yet similar traits because after all we are all human and most of us have similar views or ideas somewhere in life. The fights in this are fantastic and the improvement on the writing of them is notable. The faith of the characters are always dire and you feel the sense of urgency. I also loved the dialog once more as it's always engaging and never feels biased towards one side of the argument.

Bad: Some chapters break the otherwise great pacing of this book by offering a slower world building experience that kind of feels hunkered down at times.

Overall this is a great book. While I believe Golden Son remains my favorite still this is on par with Morning Star and in some ways this is better. Actually, I believe this is the best WRITTEN story so far but it's just that Golden Son has some of the greatest moments ever. So saying that I'll be giving this a 4.5 out of 5 and once again say this series is fantastic and needs to be read by everyone. Enjoy!

Suzuki keeps the train moving as it stays emotional investing while still have brutal scenes of violence.

The thing here is the killer chasing Suzuki actually hunts down both her and the boy. Close enough to make his threat. But after the encounter both are left in shock. Suzuki wanting to quit her life as a killer, and the boy wanting to follow in her footsteps and become a killer. A revenge filled young boy wanting to be badass like Suzuki while she just wants to...live a normal, quiet, life.

Overall this is a slower chapter and a lot more of internal monologues this time around. The action isn't as bombstastic as the previous entry but when it hits, it looks great. I enjoyed the interaction between Suzuki and the boy and both of them growing apart despite caring for each other. I also like the killer following them, mostly cause he's a psycho, and psychos can be entertaining.

The Tournaments begin!

This focus is still very much on Taiki crushing on Chinatsu. However we get a lot of Hina this time around, and she's becoming a favorite of mine. Her determination but also love interest is really interesting way of thinking, and I feel for the girl. Then we have Taiki partner in the tournament, Haryu, and he's turning into another character I really like. Having multiple characters change into someone I'm interested is always a plus.

I just wish Taiki would be truthful to himself and ask out the lady. I hope it's not 20 more volumes of not going off his love! DO IT TAIKI!

It's an excellent build-up with a hell of a payoff. I knew for years the events and read Infinite crisis, but it was great to finally read this. Ted's internal thoughts and fight are fully in display here and set up so many interesting storylines.

An interesting first issue that has me intrigued. Superman being gone 20 years but coming back right away with Lois is great, the JL moments really felt like a team, and I wanna see where we go from here.
