The Incredible Hulk by Peter David Omnibus, Vol. 1
Steve Englehart, Bob Harras, Peter David, Peter David
Hulk smashy smash...except not always.
See this is the Gray Hulk. As Peter David says at the end, he was not really wanting to write hulk. No one seemed to want to write hulk. However, Peter David said sure why not let's do it but let me do what I want. And tus Gray Hulk was born, a piece of shit, mobster like hulk at times, or talks back and cracks jokes.
This was fun.
I liked the new situations this hulk got Banner into. I also liked he still was savage at times, fighting off against the likes of Wolverine and even abomination. I liked he was weaker than green hulk, so he used his brains to win fights. Most of the stories here range from decent to great, with only a few duds inbetween. Also the art can suffer at times but when it was good, it was great.
Overall, a very enjoyable omnibus for Hulk. A 4 out of 5.

Amazing Fantasy #1000
Dan Slott, Michael Cho, Neil Gaiman, Ho Che Anderson, Jonathan Hickman, Kurt Busiek, Rainbow Rowell, Anthony Falcone
Alot of solid stories here. Slotts being the best and surprisingly touching.
Some good twist and turns. Zodiac is a step ahead Marc so Marc calls out to his god...things are going to get messy.
This is a strong volume. On their search for the second dragon they run into a underground village of sorts. Between getting through mazes, backstory on another dragon warrior, and some legit cute and funny moments this volume was a nice step up from the last.
We bring another cosplay into the mix. This time she wants to play a character from a sailor moon style show. We also get her sister involved who takes the pictures usually. This helps Gojo grow even more into a cosplay creator. Funny with some decent fan service, this volume involves naked girl slip to reveal it all, haunted looking buildings, and girls with big breast.
Good times.
Good times.
Really fun to see Batman and Green Arrow team up. Thr suicide squad stuff is aite.
Solid world building and some great moments with Superman and a brother and sister. Though feels like building blocks to a big climax.
An intriguing first issue. I like the detective angle. Not sure how I feel about Carnage being so outspoken and not wanting a host now.
This, just like action comics 1000, is a bunch of stories all put together by different artist and writers.
The running theme is basically talking about Bruce. Who he is, why does he fight crime, who his family is, and what he stands for. Most of the stories here actually range from good to great. The highlights being Bendis story about Penguin and Batman relationship, King's story about the Bat Family, and Denny O’Neil darker take on what it cost Bruce to be batman. Also, like to shout out to Kevin Smith for bringing and really solid addition to the collection since his Batman stories are not usually loved but here it hit the nail on the head.
While there's a few I didn't like (Snyder's and John's) they all still capture what it is to be Batman. All the artist bring their A game and the warren Ellis script with Cloonan art is awesome.
Overall, Detective Comics 1000 does a great job of reminding us who Batman is and why he writes. A lot of stories worth reading here! A 4 out of 5.
