Just when things were getting good the series was canceled. Probably due to covid in 2020. But watching Danny use his new powers, Johnny becoming whole again and even a backstiry to Lilith it was interesting. Just shame it felt rushed.

Great creepy art that feels horror throughout. Dealing with what ifs and what's real keeping rhe suspense throughout. Digging it.

A solid show of Dick losing his mind. It's nice to see blockbuster still effecting him. Art was ehhhh for some reason. The colors made it look odd.

A great fallout issue. Though probably need the event read (war games) to make sense of it. But I loved Dick unhinged but also someone questioning Batmans intentions. All great stuff.

100 issues down. The very first 100 issues of nightwing ever.

Ups and downs. I think both Dixon and Devin get screwed by editorial on both runs. This issue tries to die up the blockbuster story way to quick and the end result is just okay.

Not sure how I feel overall now with this series. But next up is Nightwing Year One. The return of Chuck Dixon!!!

This certainly lives up to the name.

Basically this is one shots, can be just a few pages to nearly 20 pages of short stories involving crime, death, murder, violence, you know...fucked up shit. There's some that made me feel really bad like a story about a kid getting caught in the crossfire of a deal gone bad, someone running from his wife and a brutal ending, to a cop helping cover up a murder. Lots of brutal and dark and twisted stories throughout and well worth it if this is a genre you enjoy.

A 4 out of 5.

This was Lolztastic.

After Crisis in 1986 they jump started JLA once more. They needed the Justice League but didn't have direction. In come Justice league International, which is basically a sitcom with superheroes in it.

You take some old members like Manhunter and Canary, bring in some newer members like Guy and Shazam, and have a tough and gruff leader like Batman and hilarity is bound to happen.

A lot of the time this is just people in the league arguing how to take on a mission and it's perfection. Finally, this feels like people having to work in the same space but also not loving each other yet they work well together. It's funny as hell, the characters all are unique, and the banter is AMAZING.

There's some good stories here too. Talking about political affairs of going into a country not ours, to Dr. Fate dealing with "The Gray Man" and just Guy being a complete and utter tool but making amazing storylines because of it. Also, see Max Lord here, trying to be "good" is awesome.

So far...I'm LOVING this. 4.5 out of 5.

So we enter the third volume and...it's still good! But I didn't connect to this one as much. Mainly because of one big storyline.

But let's talk about the good. As always there's some wonderful stories in here I really enjoyed. The book actually opens with a pretty funny team up of Supes and Batman as they have to stop a vampire lady from killing people. It's silly, over the top, but I can't help but have fun with this one. There's also a King Kong like story with Titano which is both sad, a bit heavy handed, but with a lot of heart. Basically a Giant ape scared and thanks to a crazy doctor he goes berserk and starts destroying the city.

Then we get into a Banshee story that's pretty fun. If nothing else, her design is freaking awesome. We then get the Millennium storyline which has some really meh stories here. Ones I couldn't wait to get past. And not too sure what the hell Millennium tagline was, I haven't read much DC during this time. The Manhunters come in and they are just a weird plotline that I couldn't get heavily invested. It didn't help it felt so out of the loop compared to the rest.

Luckily we follow up with a excellent story of Gangbuster and Jose being the badass hero he is. Such a great side by side comparison issue really with excellent human moments from a cast of characters and a brutal ending that made me super sad.

Sadly last few stories are just okay. The ending had a cool idea with Superman having to use his wits to stop a evil mastermind from eventually destroying the world. But overall it failed to live up to prior stories for me.

This group of stories varied but I do feel it still had more good than bad. Saying that it didn't live up to volume 1-2 for me but still solid at 3 out of 5.

As a huge fan of the show I was excited to go back and read this and, it mostly was pretty dang good.

This in a lot of ways is introducing you to The Doom Patrol for the first time and it's weird as hell. Meeting a guy who's now a robot, a girl who has tons of different personalities in her, and guy/girl who has a demon spirit entity inside him, a girl who looks a bit like a ape, and a normal dude who builds a lot of good shit stuck in-between all this craziness. Enemies range from scissor people to a creepy Jack the Ripper type evil character.

It's trippy, it's weird, but it's actually a breezy read that's a lot of fun. Is it perfect? No. But it's damn entertaining.

While not as strong as volume 1 it is still really funny.

This time we have Manhunter step up and take control of the team. Of course this team is all over the place, half not listening, half barely smart enough to tie their shoe. We have the manhunters or whatever the Millennium guys are for the crossover. This is just okay but seeing Supes and the JLA team up was pretty great. Also ton of funny moments with Manhunter this time, that had me cracking up, as well as Guy being super sweet to everyone since his brain injury.

Listen, it's not perfect. But man, do I get a good laugh out the interactions. A 4 out of 5.
