After a very very good Green Goblin arc we get a few one shots/two part arcs to finish up Jenkins run and they're mostly okay.
There is one excellent arc about a kid who has a terrible life, and imagines a Spider-Man like figure to get him through rough times. It's touching, well done, and really hits home. The final issue too is solid, with a issue of Peter dealing with the fallout of Aunt May finding out who he really is.
The rest was just okay. One weirdo ne with Vulture going after Peter in the bitter cold. Just okay. And the two part about some god like woman who can change forms...whatever. This story just sucked if I'm being honest.
Overall a bit of a lackluster goodbye to Jenkins ending. But it still had it's moments, especially that first issue.
A 2.5 round it to a 3 for the first issue.

A better issue than last. Kind of happy the break up, was a long time coming. It is really interesting to see Dick become Bruce. Also, like how Blockbuster playing smart. Solid set up issue.
First story is great little horror tale. The 2nd story is prelude to the new series and it's okay.
3 pretty cool, brutal, fun stories about Wolverine doing his best to chop people up into little pieces.
We begin with a story of Wolverine in his Weapon X days. This is probably one of the stronger stories. Both interesting, fast paced, and exciting. It also helps the designs are great, especially Sabertooth, who is scary as fuck. Then the next story is a fun little trip with Wolverine and Nick Fury tricking some dumb ass Nazi's. Always a pleasure to see Wolverine kill some. Last story is wolverine protecting a baby. Feels kind of forced and weirdly paced but fun.
Overall nothing amazing but all solid fun one shots. Worth a read if you're a fan. Art is amazing.

1986 the comic landscape changed drastically. Especially for DC. Major hitters like Dark Knight Returns and Watchmen released and everyone couldn't get enough. But also the rebirth (Not DC Rebirth event just a rebirth in general sense) of DC started this year too because of Crisis on infinite earth.
So DC needed their flagship character to be updated. So John Byrne decided to do a mini titled "The Man of Steel" which was basically a retelling of Superman's origin and changing little things here or there within 6 issues. This actually works well as it keeps the pacing very tight and helps create a new face for Superman while feeling familiar. The best issues focusing on Lois and Clark. But I also enjoyed the growing up issues with family.
After that we get more typical Superman stories. Some are actually really great with Lex almost finding out who superman is. I also really liked the plotline of Superman working for Darkseid and a really dark ending. I even enjoyed the simple issues of Superman working with Lois on a case. The taking over body one and most of Wolfman's issues were a bore though.
Saying that, this was a lot of fun. I'm excited to read more of Byrne's Supes run and see if it stacks up as one of the best runs for the character. A 4 out of 5.

This is a strange comic in a way because in some ways it feels like it's stuck in the 90's, but also not?
Kurt Busiek decides to create a new powerful team of superheroes after the Avengers and Fantastic Four are wiped out by Onslaught. So the Thunderbolts start wiping out bad guys, saving people, and being, well, heroes. But by the end of issue 1 you find out they're actually supervillains posing as heroes to get the trust of the community.
Zemo being the piece of shit, but somehow interesting, leader helps this series a lot. His plans to dominate and control the world is ever so hitler, but he makes for a compelling bad guy pretending to be good. The rest in the crew range from interesting and dealing with personal issues of wanting to keep being bad, while love relationships, and others like the Thinker being pretty boring as ever.
Overall, lots of fun moments and inner turmoil for our "heroes" to deal with help elevate a series. It's a bit overly wordy at times, and the art varies, but it's undeniability fun. A 3.5 out of 5, I'll bump it to a 4.

A average issue that had a very powerful ending. Some good stuff. Watching Dick reach out for help works well.
Re-read - Still love this fast paced, over the top, silly yet great comic. I'm eager to finally continue my adventure with this series as I bought volumes 2-6 recently. Still great!
Holy smokes of crazy shit. I dunno what that meant, but I fucking LOVED this comic for the most part.
What I didn't like? The weird thrown in love interest moments. Felt very oddly placed.
Okay, what I did like? The art is fantastic. It's like a mix of 90's art but take all the good stuff, leave all the old crap that looked silly, and you got this comic. The main character is a loser, yet he's heroic in a sense. The big sword wielding scarecrow is the true hero of the story and slays demons around the world. The sidekick best friend is a bumbling idiot, but he works well. The dialog is just damn near perfect cause it feels so real.
Listen, this won't change non-comic readers into comic lovers, but it'll make my night. So for that, rumble gets a solid 4 out of 5 for being damn fun as hell.

A okayish story getting really muddled by the second half.
Bob is just living his life, overweight, with his wife on a farm looking place when he begins to recall his past. His past as being one of the first superheroes ever. The blueprint. The Superman of the marvel universe. However, everything is covered up and he wants to know why. So he begins to investigate with everyone only to find out a terrible truth.
While the first half is pretty interesting, and kind of fun to watch Sentry show off the old silver age/gold age feel the second half becomes overly wordy while hitting the same point. Also the big grand twist is so easy to see coming, even if I never knew who Sentry was.
But overall thanks to the really solid art this was still good, just could have been better with a stronger second half. A 3 out of 5.

This was great! I liked it even more than volume 1.
So Zemo is running out of time as the Avengers/Fantastic Four have returned. After the group works together to save more people they are starting to change their ways. Especially Songbird and Mech-1. But as they begin to change, Zemo reveals who he is and charges forward with his plans of world domination. This leaves poor little Jolt to have to convince the rest of the Thunderbolts to change sides, but will she be able to?
This is great to watch all the inner turmoil of so many characters and feel each one. I loved that Jolt was the heart of the team, after being abused for years, but wouldn't give up on her new family. I love Zemo just being a pure pile of shit no matter what. But yeah, overall, this was just so fun to watch the team bounce back and take their name back. I will say the switch to a new world was jarring and took me out for a bit but the ending was dark and fitting.
Overall, some really great stuff. I'm eager to see how Kurt closes out his second half of the run. A hard 4 out of 5.
