I haven't loved a Mark Millar work like this since ultimates. The art is fantastic, the story goes at a gripping pace, and the emotion is heavy. From start to finish I loved nearly all of it and now I need a second volume.
I'd give this a 3.5 because I did like the majority of it.
First big plus for me is the art. I really dug the way everything flow, especially the mystical parts of it. The fights all looked great, and it was a darker take on Daredevil (if you can believe it) so it all jelled well together.
Most of the dialog was pretty good. I liked the plot, and the idea of having Matt challenge his religious views was both interesting and entertaining to witness. The death of a certain major character was heartbreaking, and his flashbacks really made me enjoy the character of Matt even more.
On the flipside the pacing and some dialog was off or way to longwinded. Like I would take FOREVER to read a page sometimes because it was bogged down by so much damn dialog, and sometimes it meant very little.
Still, overall another solid book for Daredevil. Being that he's one of the best heroes of all time that's pretty great to have another writer so solid work. Still staying away from Diggle's work.

I was a bit worried. The first major arc in this title is just okay. So I was wondering if this was worth my time and money. Luckily the second half made it very much so.
We start off with a plot where Flash is thrown into a mirror like world. Things are similar but not the same. He is considered a criminal and he lost his speed. I never understood why this seems to be a big thing people like to do. The whole fun part of Flash is his speed. Take that away the fights are dull.
However second half is so much more fun. Multiple stories of The Flash dealing with his rogues, taking them down, and also dealing more with Wally's personal life and learning his past. I really dug this and I really 'em liking my first taste of Wally, he's a fun character.
Overall second half is a blast, and good old flash fun. The first half is okay. For that it be closer to a 3.5 but the ending made me want book 2, so I'm going to go with a 4 because it's so damn fun at the end. New to flash? Pick this bad boy up for 16 bucks with 300+ pages.

Franky Franky Franky;....this is your best work so far that I've read. Which isn't saying much haha.
So the things I disliked, let's get it out of the way. The art and the Elektra storyline. Both are meh. The art isn't bad but feels outdated but everyone feels oddly shaped, almost dream-like. Then the Elektra storyline was both boring and silly and her character is so over the top it's moronic.
On the good side though I always did love to see how Matt became the hero he is. It goes through different parts of his life. I also love the final brawl, Daredevil at his finest. Never backing down, pushing himself to the brink. Fucking fantastic.
Good Origin story. Not amazing but solid, and you get the early years of Matt, so that's good.

Oh man shit is coming to a end. The humans have decided to fucking destroy ALL the Parasyte, even go as far as use a serial killer to find and hunt them. It's about to go down...except our hero doesn't want to be a fucking hero. Except...it makes sense.
What I love with the series so far is the chances it takes. It killed off main characters, leaving everyone in shambles. Scared of these things. Parasytes make a good case, and a nice twist with a certain someone, makes me gasp for a moment.
This is a wonderful series so far, and can't wait to see how it ends. I'm preparing myself to cry...please don't make me cry.

Now we're getting to the real good stuff. Mark Waid took a bit, and some fumbles, nothing horrible, but nothing "Amazing" yet this volume contained some AMAZING human moments that I've come to love from Daredevil as a whole.
If you didn't know I'm creating "Sparks" Graphic Novel, which is based off a book I published a few years ago, and it's about a man who becomes the first superhero ever but also gets diagnosed with cancer. My goal was to always make the story feel heavy, and not just use cancer as an excuse or force a sad scene, but be part of the character growth. That's something Mark did here.
Spoilers - Foggy and Matt learn that Foggy has cancer. It's done in such a well done scene that it made me nearly tear up. But then the rest of the volume deals with Matt putting his friend above all else. It's powerful, beautiful, and well written.
The superior Spider-man issue feels out of place, and while somewhat funny, it doesn't hold a candle to the rest and feels too long at times. It's even more evident when the stuff beyond Foggy is almost as engaging. We find out who's been fucking up Daredevil's life, it makes sense, and it's great stuff (Especially a certain beatdown).
On top of that the final few pages when Foggy visits the kids in the cancer ward. Ugh...fuck me. I teared up. My wife teared up, and all I did was tell her about the scene lol. Great moments, great story, weird out of place issue aside. 4.5/5.

This is a interesting start to it all. So basically there's these Demi-God type people named Ajin. Ajins are immortal and can not die, or least that's what they say so far. Kei is on the run from the popular when outted by getting hit by a truck in the first few pages of the book. So this whole volume is really a high paced chase to catch the kid for a bounty, or legend says they would have to work for you. Interesting concept.
My only issues come with the major shifting of narrative. It happens a few times, and I believe it breaks pace. Also, shit isn't fully explained so major set pieces seem forced, and look cool, but have no weight. Now this could be part of the love for the series. To learn the mystery of what's happening, but honestly, it was a bit confusing and when something happen to someone it had no weight sadly.
Still, it's face paced, action packed, great art, and fun dialog. Worth checking out and I'm sure the further I get in to it, the more I'll love it.

And we come to the end. I really enjoyed this series a lot (even the weakest I rated a 3/5.) It's just such a well done, interesting, well thought out story.
SO Shinichi is at the end of his wits. He's against the strongest Parasyte so far. This mofo took out nearly every single cop fully armed when they were cleaning them up last volume. SO now Shinichi and Migi try their best to face off against it.
On the flipside without spoilers we get the final conclusion of it all, and it made me smile. A little heavy handed on the message but a goddamn good message regardless. The ending to it all can't help but make you give it a thumbs up. It's sad, yet happy, if that makes any sense. I just loved the final panel so much it nearly boosted up my score from 3.5 to 4.5. I'll settle with 4. Either way this series needs to be read, go!

This series remains interesting, if not a little safe. The two characters play well off each other and I love that each chapter is basically it's own story. The reason I believe this is a good idea is because the structure. Life has many stories, just as many as death, and we need that to show in a broad way. So to get one sad story about two lovers about to kill each other to another about a boy losing his mother really does well to show the whole spectrum of death.
I just wish it had a little more though. They're fun reads, a little sad, but never leave a huge impact. I enjoy myself reading, but I doubt I'll remember much a month from now. For now it's a enjoyable series that still hasn't hit it's stride.

Just re-read this for fun and it still holds up as fun dumb Pokemon story. The first issue and 2-3 are a lot of fun. 4 is really weak in comparison. Ash is a asshole kind of in this, which is refreshing. No one acts goody two shoes. Pikachu is even a bit of a ass. All in all good fun.
