Update: I actually liked this volume a lot more this time around. The war, the mythos, the way he gives Oliver's father something new and original, and the ending. All really well done. The zero year tie in is okay still but the rest? Fantastic.
Old review: As the show "Arrow" keeps going down the drain the comics keep getting better. The odd introduction at the start of this volume was a little jarring. It stuck Diggle in there, from the show, yet slightly different, and created Team Arrow, yet the story doesn't feel connected to the world they've built so far. Like this Ollie shouldn't of had Team Arrow before the current team arrow. It was very odd.
Still, once Zero Year tie in (see Batman: Zero Year to understand) is over the story kicks into high care. Right where we left off. Oliver must return to the island, and you learn just how terrible his situation was. The thing I loved most is we didn't dwell on any scene too long. We got just enough backstory, just enough fighting, just enough of reuniting with a certain somebody that it all felt perfectly paced.
This volume is just as good as the last, and probably would have been even better if the zero year issues were. Still, enjoy what you get, because this to me is the definitive version of the Green Arrow.

A fitting ending. I enjoyed every bit with Nova, Al Ewing KILLS writing him. But the rest...okay. I feel this was for sure rushed in the end and Ewing had another 2-3 arcs to tell.
Wow Bruce...Fuck you. Another excellent issue.
Update 2021 - This is a great run cut too short. Feels almost like just the start to a excellent time as Green Arrow. I wish Lemire can come back and write more. SO Damn good.
2015 review - What a run. It makes me sad we won't get more from Jeff the man Lemire. Listen, I don't love all his work, but when he does good work, it's fucking GOOD.
So we get Arrow back in the city. This time though it's more of him facing off some of his rogue gallery with a assist from his badass little ninja warrior sister. I really like the idea of them teaming up, and although I have some problems with the ending, I liked seeing more of Diggle and this Arrow team up. I also loved the fight scenes, very clear, and were badass to watch.
So farewell to my favorite Green Arrow run, I hope to love once more with one of my favorite characters.

Every once in awhile a writer/artist comes along and defines a character. This is what Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino did.
Green Arrow was the bottom of the barrel in quality when New 52 started. Unlike Batman and Wonder Woman, Green Arrow was as bad or worse than even Superman. Giving shitty storylines, ruining major character, reverting the character back to a kid basically, and so on. So after almost 2 years of this terrible shit Lemire and Sorretino come on the scene and change the game completely.
We're thrown into a darker world than before as Oliver loses everything. His father figure, his company, his friends are kidnapped. The relentless villain Komodo goes after everything Oliver holds dear, and man does he not stop. With plenty of fun twist to the Mythos of Green Arrow this run gives Oliver some of his highest moments ever as a character, excellent art and fight scenes, and a satisfying growth of the entire cast. If only it could have been another 3-4 arcs to give it legendary status.
A 5 out of 5.

A solid start though it didn't blow me away.
I think Ram V is a great up and coming writer, and I love Swamp Thing, but this didn't blow me away.
Giving us a new host is smart. Some fresh blood to give new perspective to Swamp Thing lore is always welcome. We even have some old faces show up, both good and bad, which help decide the fate of this new user. On top of that we have some excellent art, with both beautiful looking scenes and horrifying, a nice mix.
But this is just the start and although issue 4 gives us a hint of what is to come, I am settling this at a 3 out of 5 for now.

This run of Catwoman might just not be for me.
It's not a bad volume. Salina is still great, some cool action scenes, but I just can't seem to care or get attached to any of the characters. It feels almost lifeless for me, or just might be me and I'm not all that interested in Catwoman. Hard to judge.

Cool first issue. Robin deciding fuck everyone, I'ma go to a island, and Mortal Kombat my way to being a badass. Cool idea, but will it last? We'll see.
This was pretty fun though not blown away.
So basically what we have here is Kaiju who attack cities are exterminated by a special force in Japan. However we follow the guy who has to cleanup after the Kaiju, cut up their pieces, and get rid of them. Good times. Through this though we have plenty of world building and character growth, topped off with some great action moments leading into the second half which presents the guy on the cover in a interesting twist.
For a newer manga this is a lot of fun and I'm eager to see where volume 2 goes. But I wasn't blown away by the plot or characters. But this is normal when I start series. Excited for volume 2 still. A 3 out of 5.

Connor getting some page time and Damien being as Sassy as ever is fun but the plot didn't move forward much at all.
