Parasyte continues it's very strong run. I love a series who has the balls to make their character's lives a living hell.

Because this is life. Come on folks, we want real shit.

So it's hard to cover this volume without spoilers. I'm going to go into slight spoilers on what happened in past volumes though. So a certain mother dies, heartbreaking, and our poor hero is becoming less and less human with more and more deaths around him. The fights are just as vicious, the deaths just as fucked up, the atmosphere just as creepy. This is one series you really should NOT skip.

Well this is the first volume to really take a dive. Boring is the best way to sum this one up. Like I don't even care what's about with half the characters. There's one cool moment, in the last issuer, but my God does this volume really try to hit and miss every swing. I don't have much else to say about this one. I'm honestly auto-piloting this series from now on.

I read this two days ago.

I can't remember what happened.

I can't fucking remember a single moment.

I think I'm reading this series just to finish it. What the hell happened. I can't remember the last time I read a comic and forgot what happened. I can't give this higher than a 1.

Believe or not this one wasn't as bad as the last few.

So we get a lot of background in this one. We get to learn in detail all about Pluto, really get deep into when he was born, and how he became who he was. You get to see this damaged person, creature, god, whatever, and actually understand him. Not agree, of course, he killed millions, but understand him. That's important.

The other half of this is to do with Max someshit, spin-off series of this, that I give two shits about. A lot of wasted time on that and made me just want to skip right past his upbringing cause it really didn't seem interesting (or important)

Venturing into the final one I hope for good things, but expect the worst. Prove me wrong Waid, PROVE ME WRONG.

Another solid Volume but felt like a lot of padding. Especially with the detective. Interesting (and has a hell of a payoff) but it felt a little long and didn't really give any sort of excitement. So that part of the volume (Which is a good portion) felt a little poor.

On the flip-side the whole being chased by a new type of Parasyte it was engaging (kind of funny) and scary. I really loved the whole chase and the fight itself was both entertaining and horrifying. Overall it's a solid volume that could have been "GREAT" without the detective line.

Holy fuck of hells, this was one of the worst endings ever.

Well I can't even comment further without massive spoilers but this ending made me nearly with I never started this series. Like a slap in the face. Fuck this shit.

This volume picks up and closes off a few storylines. I really loved watching how the Parasyte are trying to find their reasoning.

Our whole life is about figuring out who we are and why we're here. These Parasytes who are man-eating monsters (for the most part) are now trying to figure out the same. Especially a certain Parasyte with a little baby. This was easily the most engaging part of the volume. Her trying to figure out her calling, if she has emotions, if she cares about the baby. It's all answered and done so very bitter sweetly. The pages following are heartbreaking.

I also loved the fact Magi is confused as well. He's trying to find his own way in this world, starting to form emotions, and it's scary for him. It's both enthralling to watch and fascinating to see how the humans are reacting to this. All very enjoyable.

If I didn't read American Alien earlier this year I would say this is the greatest Superman story of all time. I still enjoyed American Alien a bit more, but this story...goddamn was this a great story. So many good things about it, where the hell do I start?

So the story is about Clark Kent, but not the same one we all know from the comics. In this real world setting this boy, named after Clark Kent from the comics, begins his life as a regular kid. Then his powers form and he learns to use them through the next few pages. He's heroic, but nervous, excited, but scared. He doesn't want to be caught so he uses his powers quickly, saving people, but never sticking around after.

The story is cut into four parts of life. Kid-Teeanger/Young Adult/Adult Life/Older years.

And they're all given respectful looks at this Clark Kent, the man with the power of Superman, and how he deals with it. Watching him grow on the pages is amazing. If American Alien summed up one of the best versions of Clark Kent and the true origin to Superman. This story tells us about a man who lives his life out and begins to understand what it's all about just when he gets old enough to reflect it all.

I can't even decide on which part is my favorite. I love watching Clark as a kid, learning how to deal with these powers. Young adult is about love, about how his powers can effect everything, including the love of his life. The third part deals with family, and what you would do to protect them. It's both beautiful and scary. The final part sums up our thoughts as we get older, finding what we all hope to have, a legacy and a family to watch grow.

This is a wonderful comic, one of the best I ever read. I'll have to check out more of Kurt Busiek.

Yep still think it sucks. I get it, 95% of people won't agree with me and that's fine.

The Dark Knight Returns helped give Batman a edge. Thanks to it we got some of the best dark knight stories following. The idea of having Bruce come out of retirement, vengeful, ready to clean up his city is inciting.

But wonky storytelling, lame dialog, and so/so art really make this one hard to get through. I finally finished through it in a hour, and just like when I read it the first time 6 years ago, my feelings have not changed. Dark Knight Returns is a sloppy story of Bruce dealing with getting older and trying to fix his city once more. This is a rugged Batman, which is cool, but dialog coming from him made me faceplam multiple times. Don't even get me started on the Robin in here, nothing about her was appealing, and she always seemed weak.

Overall this is just not a Batman story I enjoyed (at all) and again I get why Frank should be saluted for giving us a darker Batman (and daredevil) but overall it's just not fun to read...at all. Sorry Bat fans, this is a big old meh for me.
