Lot more happened this issue. A nice team up from two unexpected heroes, JsA reuniting. A crazy twisted endinf that leads back to a old big bad team. Things are getting good again.
This was pretty solid! I really liked how Jon is written here. Both deciding what he wants while also his father trying to face the future that might not be so bright. The art is excellent too.
The backdrop story is...not for me.

Digging the whole family vibe with Kara, Jon, and Clark and Lois. I'm also intrigued which direction we will go. It feels like bridge issues but solid one at that.
Action Comics (2016-) #1032
Michael Conrad, Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Becky Cloonan
The fact Clark is doing everything he can to make sure everything goes "peaceful" keeps me intrigued the whole time. This might be the best Clarks been written in awhile. I also like the storyline we have going with people being scared being enslaved while Clark and his family do everything they can to help them. Loving the art and story of the main book. Not really enjoying the B-Side midnight story though.
This was a even stronger volume than the first.
This time we get into a far deeper look into this world of Solo Leveling. I was wondering what happened if you die here, is this a video game? Or is this just life? And well... you die you die. What's interesting is in Dungeon's I guess they can't track what happens so you can basically be a murderer and get away with it in this world.
The art remains really solid with some excellent fight scenes. Especially as our main character gets stronger and stronger. I really want to keep seeing where we go with this series and hope it continues to improve.

Koutarou and Asako continue their cute relationship but when Asako goes on vacation, something major happens.
At first the vacation back home for Asako is nice. She visits a old friend and they get to talking. It's a great scene, some funny bits with Asako's childhood friend kid there who is adorable. They talk about life, separation from their partners, really good mature themes. Then in comes a old school mate of Asako who insults her, maybe not fully on purpose, but the nickname she uses floods Asako's mind with the past and her hatred towards her own body.
And that's the thing. The bullying is bad enough but it's the self hate that hits hard. I won't get too personal but growing up overweight (and still am) my body image is all kinds of screwed up. I hate my own body. Even when I dropped 100+ pounds in my early 20s, or 45 pounds two years ago, I always seem to gain it back eventually. And the images of my past, of being called fat or any other insult always come back to me at the worst times. And so with Asako always sweating and smelling, when someone mentions a old nickname, all those horrible memories flood back into her.
And the way she deals with it is very personal. I felt extremely bad for her but I'm glad this series didn't just brush it off. We need more of this.
A 5 out of 5.

A solid move on to the next arc. This is all about the villains now. Get two see two rival bad guys go at it, plenty of big fights, a crushing blow to a few of our favorite villains, and a ending that is...tender. Overall, I'm getting more invested now. A 3.5 out of 5.
Oh man I love Superman trying to solve this all peacefully. The interaction with the justice league, his family, and Atlantis is all great.
Clark makes the hard choice to leave behind earth. But he is needed elsewhere to save people who are enslaved. Some great character moments with Lois, the League coming to try and figure out what to do next, and a exciting ending. This is a great way to close out the first arc.
Superman continues to gather up the group known as the Authority. This time we get Apollo and Midnighter joining. We also have Steel's daughter. I don't know some of the others but this is a entertaining issues of heroes...kind of heroes, coming together. Also, gay jokes work well here and in good fun.
