I'm really getting in to this world. I understand this might be a slow burner for some. It's a lot of world building, and that continues here. I love Forever, and yes she's somewhat emotionless but not completely and that makes her interesting. I've always had a soft spot for Terminator like characters with emotion and motives yet still robotic.
This volume basically goes back and forth with forever as a kid and now. I really loved the past, and it helps us care a lot more about the character. I also loved the part in this book when they meet the other family and a certain something happens that really gets wrapped up in a smart way instead of just bloody shoot out. Very neat.
On flipside we get a band of people who are trying to get to the lift. They aren't all that interesting, and even when something major happens, I wasn't engaged. It wasn't until the very end I actually cared about them and eager to see where they go from here.
I hope Lazarus continues to impress, because I'm really enjoying the overall feel of this series.

What is up with enjoying all these Carnage stories as of late? First Axis and now U.S.A.? Maybe I should read more.
This little town is quickly taken over by Carnage. Cassidy is a piece of shit seriel killer and he has no problem using people as his weapons. A team is sent to take him in including Spider-man, The Thing, Cap, and Hawkeye. Sadly that doesn't work out too well and Carnage soon has control of most of our heroes.
The story plays out like a horror thriller in a lot of ways and I guess I just really dug it. I also love the part when a certain friend of Peter's comes in to save the day. Their fight is pretty epic way to conclude it all.
Yes, it's a bit too fast paced and things could have been better detailed, give more of a edge, but as it is I enjoyed the story quite a bit. 3.5-4. Check it out!

Listen, I love some of Mark's stuff.
I hate some of it.
But a lot of it is just in the middle. This is one of them.
So I won't explain the plot in detail, because you can just read that anywhere. Something I loved was the very nature of Superman is still the same. He is a symbol of Hope. This isn't Injustice Superman (Which I love) he has different views but he's still the good hearted Superman we all know and love. I also liked the idea of Lex being basically the ruler of America while Russia falls into Superman's domain. Also Bats vs Supes was very fun.
What didn't I like? Talk about wordy. Some moments, or whole issues, could have been cut down. It's just a lot of talking with very little meaning. We get the ideas with the pictures, that's why it's a comic, so you don't have to spell out everything...Duh! Also the whole middle felt a bit dragged out and boring.
However the ending was a nice wrap up and brought a smile to my face. I wasn't inlove with this story but I did enjoy it enough to give it a solid 3 stars. Good.

Man oh man...I never got to finish this in High School. I read up to Volume 3.
So I'm re-reading it from start to finish because...well because the movie reminded me I never finished it. So here we go.
What if you took Superman and made him into a killing machine. Cool. Now what if have a mystery of WHY crazy Superman is murdering all of his friends. SWEET.
The first volume of Irredeemable starts off vicious and doesn't let up...too much. You see the death of countless character, who you don't have any attachment to but still feel awful when you see them get murdered. That's a big plus for me. You also get some intriguing mystery notes that make you wonder why such a good man would turn to such a ugly side.
My main issues stem from the art being a little bit eh. Especially with faces sometimes. Also the plot feels like it jumps a lot and doesn't always follow a good pace. It catches something interesting and lets it go for something no one cares about.
Still, this is a very solid first volume to get you into a world of fear and honestly, some nasty shit this "hero" does that you can't look away from. A 3.5 out of 5.

Yesssss. THIS IS WHY I REMEMBER THIS SERIES.
For volumes like this.
For the moment where the hero who is a crazy fucking killer finally gets a little taste of his own medicine.
This picks up right where volume 1 left off. Our heroes are being slaughtered and no one seems to be able to stop him. We try and try but honestly this guy is just playing games with us. Some neat twist, involving someone who has certain powers that could WRECK some shit come into play. Making this volume far more intriguing and fun to read.
Only thing I hated were some character moments that you're just like "WHY ARE YOU STOPPING!?" That just drive you nuts. Like come on bro, this dude is bad business, don't just let him recover.
Still, great volume, and very much worth checking out if you enjoyed volume 1.

Spider-man, Spider-man, he can do...a good comic again! Woot Woot!
Listen I hated One More Day. It fucked up one of my favorite characters ever created. I also disliked most of Brand New Day, because it sucked monkey balls. So now we get "Big Time" which is mostly done by Dan Slott.
Do I like Dan's Spider-man? I do and I don't. I feel he understands the core of the character with some great issues with Spider-Slayer and some talks with his girlfriend and MJ. But then you get issues that are so awfully done like "No One Dies" that feel like they're trying WAY too hard. I was just like NO.
However Venom Agent, Spider-Slayer, Hob-Goblin all had great arcs and I really enjoyed them. It was really only the issues that dealt with "no one dies" and the FF issues (Which were so boring) that I didn't like. Some random issues at the end were fun though like Ghost Rider.
Overall a 3.5 out of 5, which is better than almost ANYTHING in Brand New Day. So yay!

Another solid entry into the series.
This one isn't quite as gripping as Volume 2. Basically it picks up right after but slows down to give way to a new enemy as well as finding out some deep dark secrets. It's not that it's bad it's just not as exciting seeing our heroes try to survive against a insane maniac. I thought it was fun enough to get through but the overall pacing hurt it. a 3/5

This volume picks up the pacing and a lot of shit happens in a small amount of time.
So we get a lot more background, a lot more history, and I love it. I enjoy watching characters grow, it's my favorite part of reading, so this offered a lot. More into why this Superman like hero became a killer, why certain people didn't tell the world their secrets, and most of all someone finds out who someone else is. I really dug this volume, the action was great, and the twist were fun. Who's the real baddie here? WHO! ?

This is the last volume I read back in High School. I really liked it then, I really enjoyed it now.
The ending makes this long fight worth it. A nice twist. A nice fuck you to that piece of shit. I also love it because it leaves us with a lot of things to do after all the destruction. The heroes aren't just in a simple "We win" stage. Nah, they have to figure out a lot.
But I really liked this volume too because of how much indepth look we get into a lot of the characters. Without spoilers we get a real good insight to all our heroes (and villains) that made it worth it. Check this volume out, because from here on out all this might fall apart or keep it up.

A slower volume. Some things are awesome, some not so much.
The bad parts are really due to the diving into the mind of Mr. Irredeemable himself. While a neat idea (and kind of a nice fuck you to him) it's really boring. They could have cut these flashes to just one page each time instead of dragging it out.
While back on earth least we get some more interesting plots. Some repetitive ones, especially with Savior, but everyone else stays interesting. Also the end of this volume really sets up for the next few to be real good.
But will it? I dunno....
