A very simple story of 3 pieces of shit who hurt and killed a lot of people and their past catching up to them.
I actually enjoyed the plot. Watching three worthless pieces of shit finally get what they deserve worked. The symolic parts of it looked great too with the crow and death lingering around them at every corner. It was too bad the coloring was very muddy outside of those shots, and super dark, making it hard to tell who is who. Also, there's no shocking revelation, it's very standard mafia/everyone betrayed everyone, storyline. But it worked for what it was going for and I was entertained most of the time.
A 3 out of 5.

This was fucking adorable.
The series is just about a little girl on adventures every day with her dad, his friend, and their new neighbors. It's a bit weird, silly, and SO much fun to read. I challenge you not to crack a smile or laugh at this book. With father and daughter going shopping is too funny, to Boxers man, to hunting beetles, this volume was so much fun to read.
Sometimes you just need something laid back and cute like this to make the day better. A 5 out of 5.

After a great last volume I was looking forward to this. Instead get a "could be future" storyline with a weird as hell ending. Nothing really worked for me this volume.
About a broken girl trying to break the person she's in a relationship with. At only 26 pages it goes fast but has the signature oshimi sexual darkness themes but without worthy characters.
I read Sweet Tooth years ago but with the show on now I figured I'd revisit it.
The story of Gus is pretty strong. Having been left to fend for himself in this cold world after his father passes away is a touching and realistic view on what we're used to in this post apoc world. It is when Jepperd comes into the picture things take a interesting turn for the first half of this book as it feels very Last of Us. Protecting each other, learning about each other, and then the big reveal half way through changes both their stories.
It is in the later half we get deeper background of both characters which helps resonate with both in very different ways. I still think the art is...unique. It is not my favorite, and usually not a fan of most of Lemire's art. It worked amazing in Royal City but here less so. However, it is far from bad it just isn't my favorite style. Saying that Lemire is telling a simple but very powerful story that will work for alot of people.
There's a reason this comic got made into a series. A 4 out of 5.

Tokyo Revengers sets the board for a brutal confrontation between old friends.
With Takemichi tasked with bringing back Benji we finally get to learn the full truth. What happened to make Baji and Kazutora betray Manjiro. It's pretty heartbreaking but it all makes sense. It also helps build up why Manjiro is such a good leader and his speech to his people was perfect. The amount of characters in the story does feel a bit overwhelming but once you got a idea of who is who the story pieces are really great.
While it was cool to learn more about who died and how, it was a lot of build up from where we left the last volume off. While not the best volume it still is a great piece to what comes next.

Oh shit he's backkkkkk. Finally get almost full circle and that ending? Goddamn.
Some great tense moments. One with a stick up mixed with a chest buster. I will say the back and forth time line can be a tad confusing tho.
A great start. We learn a little about Yara past and it aint so pretty. Then thrown into modern day with her and some stunning art to showcase it all. Bit confused why we're shown so many other tribes and people though.
This is such a weird series.
The tone is jarring. From goofy over the top villains to brutal murders and rapey scenes. It's so offputting at times, and other times super entertaining. The art can vary from great to crappy. It's so weird the back and forth.
This time we do see Amon lose which is a nice change of pace. Introduces us the main villain and her scummy ways of how to defeat the demon lord. Things move so quickly and so much happens you can NEVER be bored.
Overall, a entertaining volume even if it silly. A 3 out of 5.
