Wow this might be my favorite volume so far. Feels the most fresh and fun while also not some crazy weird storyline jumping everywhere with event tie ins.
We mostly have the one year time skip (one year later DC promoted) and get to see the "All New-All Different tians" now. Robin is still leader but Kid Devil and Revenger have joined the crew. This isn't your typical team up anymore. Then you also have Cyborg who is trying to find his old crewmates and find out what the heck happen to them.
It's fun and exciting adventure with a bunch of broken teens trying to figure shit out. Sure they make Revenger a bit sex hungry, and Kid Devil is a interesting design...nightcrawler....but yeah it worked for the most part. Teen angst, fun fight scenes, team working together, all the things you want in a teenage superhero book.
A 4 out of 5.

I really like Batman here and the action scenes are solid but the story feels a bit filler here and not as interesting as the last volume. The backup issues are blah.
A solid finish for this future state series with the new batman. The only thing that sucks is the backup issues are snooze fest.
Some really fun moments, and Spider-Woman is amazing, but the plot is so confusing and weird I had no clue what the hell was even happening by the end. The art also got kind of bland by the end too. Sadly I think Marvel didn't have much hope in this series so gave up. Sadness.
This reminded me a bit of the X-Force by Rick Remender where we go into a alternate reality and our heroes have to survive.
And it actually works here. After being ambushed by Virus, a person built up like Iron Man who wants to exact revenge on Brock for...unknown reasons. After their fight Brock takes his son to the Maker to find out what to do but the Maker is working on a alternate dimension and bam, we end up in a world FILLED with symbiots. While there Eddie meets a old face and things get...interesting.
This was pretty fun. I actually enjoyed the pacing and although with going to another dimension usually results in less stakes, it still was interesting to see. I also thought was nice character development for our characters and by the end we got some really cool moments with our heroes. The ending was kind of bitter sweet which was a nice change.
The calm before the storm as we head into the King in Black after this. A 4 out of 5.

Teen Titans comes to an end once again. With mixed results but ultimately this was one of the better volumes in this entire 47 issue series that was broken up into two different graphic novel lines.
I will say this, Damien going rogue and a more brutal character is risky. For one there’s a section of people who still just hate Damien for taking Tim’s place as robin, or hate him for his “don’t give a fuck” attitude, or just because he’s the son of Batman and people don’t like that either. But me, I really liked Damien. Going from a killer to a superhero was a nice change of pace for a young child and although he is now considered more of a teen, he’s still a kid in my eyes, so watching him revert back to “killer” status was alarming.
But context is everything. After the events of Batman where Alfred was murdered in front of Damien, things for Damien got hard. It’s not easy for an adult to deal with loss but a 13-14 year old? Nearly impossible to know how they’ll deal with it and Damein doesn’t deal with it well.
While Damien is starting to go back to killing the Teen Titans are trying their best to stop him before going too far. On top of that Bruce finds out and now is trying to stop him as well. So basically all hell is breaking loose.
I personally enjoyed the chaotic and pretty sad volume here. We finish up the arc from last book quickly and Thompson takes over writing. While not as edgy it still brings teen characters being well written and fun. The ending was bitter sweet but interesting to see where it goes. While sometimes pacing was a bit fast it worked for the most part. I give this a solid 3.5 but I’ll bump it to a 4.

Man, chip is NOT playing here. He really wants the Daredevil throne, and that shit ain't easy to get since you know, 4 or 5 other writes already made some of the best Daredevil runs ever.
So here we have Matt at the end of his rope ready to throw in the towel. He wants to go to jail, but this time he chooses it, to point out that the justice system is not broken. That he killed someone and he has to go to prison to pay the price. Before we get there though he decides to make plans on how to protect the city from Kingpin and his piece of shit friends. This is a lot of courtroom drama, very little fighting, but oh my oh my is it amazing.
The ending is probably one of the best parts. Having a new status quo seems redundant in superhero stories but this makes sense. The art is still top notch with excellent showcase of emotion. The only weak part was the one more day storyline was okay but it did come full circle which was pretty nice. Another homerun, 4.5 out of 5. Bumping it to a 5.

Holy shit if I thought this story couldn't get anymore zanny it goes there.
So now we head back to where it all began and it starts off pretty fun. A roundtrip to find out why the hell there's copies of the butchers. But then we learn a little about the past, about a certain someone who basically is a witch type. Yes you read that right. Now very interesting to be honest, kind of stupid, and feels like it is just spinning its wheels now.
I mean the whole series feels a parody of itself where it began but hell if I don't enjoy reading the stupidness of it. But I can't give it higher than 2.5.

People call this a civil war lite. I honestly think it's just boring.
So basically after an event where people nearly died and a young hero is hurt, they put in a new law to outlaw kids from saving people. Never stopped kids before protecting people but now it is a issue somehow. Anyhow, we have all the kids basically on the run trying to figure out what to do from here.
There's some good character moments. Ewing writes Riri really well, and Miles pretty solid, but everyone else I feel like I don't know them from the past. On top of that the storyline itself feels to safe, we all know what will happen, and the ending felt way to cheerful for what the events just happening showed.
Not horrible but very boring. A 2 out of 5.

Teen Titans, Vol. 7: Titans East
Adam Beechen, Tony S. Daniel, Peter Snejbjerg, Al Barrionuevo, Geoff Johns, Chris Batista
This was ok.
Johns is usually a really solid writer but his Teen Titans basically ranges on decent-good, with one great volume. Overall, it's mostly kids yapping and fighting, some sex thrown in, lots of angst. Thinks like this should work but none of the main plots really do. In this we have fucking Deathstroke return AGAIN. Like Jesus Christ, can we get someone new for the Teen Titans to fight?
I just didn't like this volume much. From the mischaracterization of Batgirl, to no real closure and just one HUGE fight, to the really odd ending that just happens. Besides a few moments with Revenger and Cassie this was kind of meh. A 2.5 out of 5 at best.
