Probably one of rhe best future titles next to wonder woman. Dick is still charming yet more serious than before. The fact the fights are great and watching Nightwing team up with a certain somebody got me excited.
The clash of the brothers!
This was actually a pretty suspensful volume. With Shinra going full power on his brother he's finally able to catch up to him...almost. But what really comes down to is family and how much you'll do something for someone to protect them. While the ending gives us new villains, or reveals them atleast, we now enter a whole new part of the series. Shinra is more motivated than ever to rescue his brother and his fire force team are backing him up 100%.
Fire Force remains a really solid shonen anime with plenty of great action packed moments and some heartfelt as well. I do worry since it's already up to volume 21 in america and volume 25 in Japan, so how long can we go? But it's still damn entertaining so let's see.

Pretty dark look into someone who loses all his mental stability.
With the death of Jean Dewolff, both Spider-man and Daredevil seem to be chasing the same man. Sin Eater is out there killing people who he finds, well, sinful. It's simple enough but it's actually the look into someone's mind and how fractured it can become after years of doing a certain job. The second half deals with trying to fix past mistakes and watching how it all comes together to a bitter but nearly perfect ending really worked.
I have to say Peter is kind of a dickhead in a lot of this. I wonder if it's because of the black suit, but was this even the venom side of him? Or he just wore a black suit? He just came off as irrational a lot of the time and talking out of his ass. But besides that I really enjoyed everything else, and though dated, the dialogue holds up reasonably well.
A 3.5 out of 5, but I'll bump it to a 4 for that ending.

My boy gets into the "older so is it okay? But not old enough" field.
With it ending on a time skip of last volume we have our two main characters trying to sort their feelings. Satoko trying to finally move on but she isn't having the best time in life. Seems to be lost some. But then she sees Mashuu again grown up and now is trying to decide what to do. Talk to him? Ignore him? What is there to say.
I appreciate the series never really crossing the line. You feel a unease, but you can tell they both care about each other. Satoko probably more as a sister or mother-type but Mashuu might be falling for her. You never really know but it feels like it. This is mostly focused on Mashuu is the second half and his will to try and improve himself and be more forward. Satoko gets the first half and by the end it feels like might missed something major we'll get the next volume.
Once more, this weird slice of life continues to impress and be interesting. I trust in the author to give us a great finale.

This was actually my favorite volume of Spencer's in awhile.
The first story is fun enough. Spider-man trying to get a better image on himself, or not so much, but JJJ wants to give him one. So what does Spidy do? Goes on a Podcast. This arc is mostly filled with a lot of lolz moments and a really cool look into the return of Sin Eater.
The last two issues are the best part though. With Gog, a huge monster who appears, you get to see Spencer take away the needless amount of talking and just have a simple story that hits the feels. Gog has a hard life and he's just a little creature looking for a home. By the end he might just get that.
Not a mindblowing volume but enjoyable all around. About a 3.5 but I'll bump it to a 4.

Well shit, this was bombastic. Tony is losing his mind when he recruits whoever is nearest him to try to stop the world from, well, being taken over. The crazy fights, twist, somehow some good humor, and ending all made me love this issue. Strongest issue yet in a pretty great run.
A much happier ending than I had expected. Some heartfelt moments too. I felt it wasn't as "Wow" factor of previous issues though. I also felt everything came up too "tidy and clean" in the end. But overall still enjoyable and Dead Planet as a whole very much worth reading.
I'm still loving this vampire love story with a nice mix of brutal murderer and racism sprinkled in.
The very fact that we have a big conspiracy and the main enemies are actually hiding amongst the "cops" or "good" people is awesome to watch instead of some big mystery. On top of that the romance here remains engaging and cute and the best part about it is I'm really starting to like Johannes a lot in this volume. But Anzai actually gets to shine in the final chapter of this book as someone trying to help a Devil who isn't used to controlling himself.
Overall, a nice breather from the last intense volume though there's still some shocking twist and turns here. The ending is my favorite part I believe and we lead up to a chase coming up that is sure to be epic. Still digging this one a lot.

A crazy twisted tale of a boy who was stolen as a baby and then years later comes back to a town that's...not so friendly.
I think John Lees hits dialogue real well. A lot of characters sound real and events move at a brisk pace. Having James come back to live with his family is a nice story there of reunited with lost ones and trying to pick up the pieces while also wanting to respect the person who had raised him even if he raised him as a thief. Alot of it works and the visuals are brutal and fucked up with plenty of nightmare fuel for you to feast on.
I did feel the actual plot moved too quick at times. People die SO quick and you don't get a chance to feel the pain. I also think the ending was wrapped up too quick. This could have easily been a 8 issue series that would of greatly benefited to give us more time with the family and get to care about them.
But overall it's still a real solid horror story and Lees is real good with his horror. A 3 out of 5.

Welp all my bitching over to much fanservice and showing a character get mishandled with her boobs and butt getting grabbed and finally we have a whole chapter dedicated to showing off man butt, and sexy poses for the ladies. SO fair is fair.
Overall this volume is A LOT more lax than previous and I liked that. Atsushi Okkubo is actually a pretty solid writer and his humor can work in a lot of places. It worked real well in this volume as I laughed plenty as Shinra had to deal with his Captain and crew mates to take nearly nude photos of himself.
We then get to see our friend get some damn answers to what happened to his mother and brother all those years ago. Some pretty epic fighting inbetween the answers and now that we know who is who, everything is starting to fit into place with all the mystery.
Fire Force once again has me entertained throughout. I can't say it blows me away but I'm never bored and always smiling. A 4 out of 5.
