Holy fucking shit I did NOT see that reveal coming.

This is crazy, twisted, and intense while also having sometimes just two people talking for 20 pages. It goes to show Urasawa is a master at weaving together multiple storylines all into one big narrative and just when you think one is a waste, like why are we back talking about this character, it links to the main story in a major way. Tenma and Grimmer together work to try to catch Liebert, but when Johan uses kids to get his way things get even MORE fucked up.

If I had to pick a weak part it was probably Lunge's storyline being a little long and just recounting what we know. BUT then his end part was freaky and exciting all at once. With a ending leaving our heroes in danger, where the FUCK do we go from here?

One Piece dives (or flies?) into its next major arc, SKYPIEA!

Now the thing about this arc is it was one of my favorites growing up. But I do remember people not liking this arc as much. Saying it takes too long to get it going and the side characters aren't nearly as interesting. I'm going to be honest...I kind of agree now that I'm older.

Now that it is a awful arc or anything. Because lets face it. The worst One Piece arc is still solid (not counting anime filler) but this arc feels like it was dragging its feet some. After finally getting the ability to go up into Skypiea is does pick up but some overly long fights, and over talking, started to get on my nerve.

The good part is we do get introduced to Eminem...I mean Enel, the god of electricity! And with that his henchmen are pretty powerful too. Giving Luffy and his gang some trouble. The island itself is pretty fun to look at and it has a "adventurous" type of feel to it which is cool. Also there is a great moment when people act like Tarzan. Funny as hell.

Pretty solid because how fast paced it was. I hate Vertigo so glad he was out pretty quickly. The art stays great and the dialogue smooth as we move on to the next big arc.

Wonder Woman goes head to head with Maxwell. The fight is fun, exciting, and fast paced. It felt a little rushed but the ending got me hyped for the return of another character. You can tell Mariko wanted longer on this run but it seemed the cards were stacked against her. Luckily I believe she'll kill Detective Comics. Anyway this was real fun.

I like Liar Liar but her return seems a bit too soon and her whole "in my own reality in my mind" thing seems oddly fast for how she fought just a few issues normally. But still quickly paced and fun to read regardless. I like Mariko's Wonder Woman personality a lot.

A decent ending. You can tell Mariko was def rushed on this one. But still a solid run overall. I'll pickup the entire run one day as I love the first half. A 3 out of 5 for this issue.

Another decent tale if nothing special.

Watching Freeze bring his wife back from the dead is a interesting idea. But the actual plot itself is just okay. Her going batshit crazy was kind of a lame idea. I feel like the idea of regret coming back to life would have worked better. The one off with Damien and Bruce working to find the orphans was a awesome tale, both sad and well done. Also the final tale of Bruce working with the police was decent too.

I personally enjoyed it enough to read it but wasn't wowed by anything here. Peter J. Tomasi is a great writer and his Batman and Robin run is legendary IMO one of my favorite Batman runs. But this is just okay.

A really cool story I didn't expect to love as much as I did.

Alienated is about 3 teenagers who find a alien who links their minds together so they can read each others thoughts. They are all suffering past issues, trying to get through high school, and also hide a robot looking alien who can warp and go inside people's minds and feed on hate. It's a interesting concept and the end result, while familiar sometimes, works really well.

I loved the pacing and dialogue. Read this is two sittings, and it was well worth it. The ending is a tad shocking at first but plays well. The fact these kids have to suffer consequences for their actions is great. The whole "rebel without a cause" is perfectly done. I really can't say enough about how AWESOME the art is. Really unique and captures emotions so well.

This one is a winner. A nice surprise of the year. Simon Spurrier tells a tale that might seem like read it before but the heart of the story is so well done it kept me reading throughout. A 4.5 out of 5.

It's been years since I've seen most of this arc but holy hell is it as amazing as I remember it.

See the Female titan is on a rampage trying to get to Eren. Eren, lead by Levi and his group are doing their best to get away from her. However, she seems always one step ahead. Every moment she races forward, going through multiple people, the more heart racing moments build. The climax is as epic as you'd expect but just when you think we'll get a breather we head right into the consequences of that arc. Then once we finish all that we head out to the different members of Eren's group and see them survive.

I will say the one weaker point is Sasha's story. Not horrible but just okay. It feels slow but with purpose as to build her character. Same with Connie's storyline but there's SO much underlying moments with Connie's story that it all makes sense.

Then we think we'll take a breather? Guess again! Incomes the titans as Ymir, Christa, Reiener and a few others get trapped inside a castle that is being invaded by titans. When their backs are against the wall what will save them? To top it all off the final few pages give a HUGE reveal and the last page is shocking as it is badass.

This is why Attack on Titan is considered one of the greatest anime of all time. The art, the story, the pacing, it's all near perfect.

I'm really enjoying rhe main story here. This batman is more talkative but in the best way. New and scared yet positive and won't give up. Helps the art is fantastic too. Two backup stories are decent. Cass is a badass once more.

Main story a 4 the others a 3.
