I'm not going to lie... I think I like Goldy Pond even more than the escape arc.
Emma and her new company of kids surviving the onslaught of demons trying to kill and eat them. This time though as we saw in previous volume the kids are fighting back. Plenty of nice tricks up their sleeves as the big plans start to unfold and death to the monsters begins. But what about the top of the food chain monster? He's not so dumb and Emma might have some trouble here.
Plenty of awesome action, great reveals, and brutal moments/deaths. I really dug this volume as much if not more than the last volume. I'm hoping it continues to be a ride filled with great "oh shit" moments and the great action scenes the author displays here.
A 4.5 out of 5.

The story idea is great, Matt does a solid job on dialogue for most part, but the pacing is extremely rushed espevially second half and rhe art...the covers are amazing but some of the interior art is just oddly done and emotional scenes turn into "what the hell is that?" Due to the body looking weird.
Yu Yu Hakusho remains a solid read though this volume begins to veer more into the battle action shonen it was known as.
With three artifacts stolen emerge 3 demons. The ones you probably know the most Hiei and Kurama (My personal favorite character of the series). Yusuke is given the mission by Koenma to stop the 3 demons and get back each artifact. The first demon is a easy dispatched loser who gets his despite being a soul sucking piece of shit. Then we get to the two better stories, Kurama and Hiei. Kurama story is actually pretty touching and builds the character up right away. Hiei's story is more vicious but fun and shows what and who he is. Then we finally get to meet the great Genkai who will soon become a key figure is Yusuke's life.
Overall, it's a solid volume. Kurama and Genkai being the highlights. The rest is standard world building and while fun I was a bit bored. I know we're getting to the good stuff real soon but this volume didn't blow me away despite still being a solid read. A 3 out of 5.

A very typical, slightly boring, but nothing horrible justice league book. First half deals with eradicator and gives some fun Justice League banter and "hope" that the book needs after convoluted mess of Snyder's run. The second half deals with the Spectre, whom I've grown fond of, but the story here is pretty shit.
Overall, first half safe and pretty fun. Second half boring. Overall nothing more than a 2.5. I'll bump it to a 3 I guess.

The plot is...well fucking weird and going nowhere fast.
But it is still FUNNY. I won't lie. There's a few parts that made me laugh here. Especially the part about "Two-four pancakes. See I can make up words too, you're not special" I broke out laughing hard on that one. Also, the absurdity of this whole thing, Suzanne's mom a major sex fiend who has a cult like following of woman watching their own vagina's in mirror's is....well fucking insane yet you can't help but enjoy it.
The plot itself is annoying and I don't even know who the hell the bad guy is. But by the end we're finally getting the "band" back together for a final showdown(?) and it seems we'll end it all. Best part of the series is the relationship and Suzanne is the best character in the whole series still though Jon, despite being a dick, makes me laugh.

Something about the Espada and their threat makes them likeable villains.
The first half of this volume is mostly training but it's pretty funny and well done. I also really liked the training for Ichigo. Everyone else is also getting their powers upgraded too. I think what they're doing with Oro is kind of just okay idea but I feel the idea of what will happen to her is similar to the last arc.
But once Grimjaw shows up it get serious and everyone begins a rough battle. With all the Reapers on the edge of losing it gets real exciting to see what happens next! A 4 out of 5.

Been awhile since I read volume 2 but this picks up pretty much right where the last left off.
Spider-Slayer is about to be executed and J. Jonah ask Spider-man to be there. Of course with Doctor Octopus at the helm of Spider-man's body he says yes but with other reasons of why he's doing it. So when he goes to the prison you just KNOW something is going to go wrong. But what works is how lethal and fucked up Superior Spider-man is, always thinking ahead of the villains because, well, he was one.
The second half deals with Hobgoblin and Shadowland (Not sure if this was part of the event, I couldn't even remember that terrible Daredevil Event but I don't think so) anyway Kingpin takes control of a part of New York and says he's unstoppable. So Superior Spider-man plans to break through in a brutal way, which is wonderful. Then we deal with Otto using the civilians of New York to hunt down Hobgoblin. This Spider-man ain't playing.
Overall, it's a lot of fun. Some of it drags a bit due to excessive dialogue but overall the plot is entertaining and this Superior Spider-man is much more brutal and keeps the series from getting boring. Also, the art is stellar. A 4 out of 5.

A weird story about a man who can take a bite out of something and relive memories of it. Meaning if he eats a hamburger he remembers the moments the cow got slaughtered. Good times. Same applies to humans...so eat up!
And this detective Chu gets caught up in a special police division to hunt down cold cases by eating people's flesh to find out what the heck happen to them. The absurdity in itself is funny and there are some great moments. It's also nice to have a main character who looks a bit like a regular dude but does some amazing things.
But it also has a TON of unnecessary explanation and dialogue at times that made it a bit of a slog to get through. I did like the last issue a lot though as it picks up big time to give it a extra boost that it really needed. Since before that felt like more of "case by the issue" type book.
Overall a solid start, I might read more down the line. A 3 out of 5.

The sasuke fight is fun but holy fuck do they need to explain to the other guy every time they outsmart them? Just fucking fight and let the audience enjoy it. I don't even mind if they're thinking it but to spout it out, really annoying at times and drags out what should be a better fight than just "fun".
On flipside we do have some cool showdowns, Naruto talking to Iatchi, Sasuke and Itachi talking, and our Frog master sneaking into Pain's base to find out what the guy is up to. Get a little history on Pain too...things aren't looking good for Jiraiya

Having an entire volume focus on Jiraiya was a smart move.
Jiraiya gets deeper into his mission as you get to see he might know who Pain and his buddies are. A little background you learn the great frog master trained Pain and his friends when they were kids. So get a little bit more background on both Jiraiya and Pain which was nice. I also think this battle is pretty brutal as Jiraiya is getting his ass handed to him and the ending is not a happy scene for our old pervy dude.
I will say the excessive amount of explanation here was killing the momentum though, especially in the actual fight. Sometimes I feel like just ignoring what they're saying as when they explain what they'll do they actually just DO it right after. So stop explaining it, please?
A 3.5 out of 5. I'll bump it to a 4.
