This is probably some of the most uncomfortable manga I've ever read, but in a good way.
Our main character, Seiichi Osabe, is having a tough time even talking now. He stutters like mad, and when he does talk, he usually says opposite of what he wants to say. Especially around his mother Seiko. But when his father takes him to the hospital he finally breaks when he sees the condition of his cousin. The ending heats up as Seiko demands to know what Seiichi is doing but what happens when he can't stand it anymore?
This is another great volume. While not as weird as the last the tension racks up BIG time at the end and it seems like mama isn't playing anymore. My only downside to this all is how fast I read them and have to wait. But Oshimi got some good shit here.
A 4 out of 5.

This is...something. I won't lie and say I read much Question before, and I usually love Lemire, but this did almost nothing for me. Jumping through different time periods, touching on political issues but not doing much with it, and the plot itself not having much to say...this ended up being a dud. A 2 out of 5.
Some fun flash moments and cute Iris moment with him but the rest? Very boring...not huge fan of black Adam either.
Superman: Endless Winter Special #1
Ande Parks, Marco Santucci, Phil Hester, Andy Lanning, Ron Marz, Francis Manapul
A decent issue showing off superman being a great hero but as far as this endless winter storyline I'm just not that in to it. I'll just wait on the trade.
Much slower paced issue but showing how bad things have gotten. I love how Peter is written here, hope cates to write his series one day. Also that ending...where do we go from here!?
This one is hard to judge because I think the first few issues are honestly kind of meh. But then...
So the first story is John going to New York. A lovely city really, I grew up there, and the truth is...it's a pile of shit. But John loves it here...until one of his old "friends" sees him and decides to send him on a trip to hell inside his mind. This story is long, and boring IMO, with very little payoff. Where's the second story, Rake at the Gates of Hell, which deals with the Devil getting back at John, is tense, scary, fun, and exciting. By far one of my favorite stories so far from Ennis on Hellblazer. The very last issue deals with Kat and her childhood drama.
I honestly am so torn. The first half I barely can give higher than 2.5 but the second half a easy 4.5...So it would settle around a 3.5 in the end. I think I'll bump it to a 4 but it was very close to falling to a 3. Thankfully the second half truly saved it.

Welp, first few issues I was on board, loved the direction, then it went downhill fast.
Snyder continues his long winded exposition heavy take on justice league that really doesn't add much. The first story of them heading to the 6th Dimension and such is actually fun and to see Batman's dreams come true, yet knowing what he must do is wonderful. Not to mention Star and Superman shine so bright here, and even Flash is funny a lot of the time.
But then the last few issues are a boring slog to get through with SO much exposition and not leading anywhere. I really hope Snyder when he drops most DC titles takes a break and comes back strong because he is a TOP tier writer, but his current output is okay at best.

Stealth is a weird, yet entertaining take, on what it means to be a superhero that is losing his mind.
The twist set early on is actually intriguing and sets up things nice. The villain, who is a "I don't give a fuck about anything" type is highly entertaining too. I really enjoyed some of the fight scenes, and the characters all worked for me. I think the pacing is weird, sometimes TOO fast, sometimes TOO slow. It never felt balanced. Also, some of the art is great, some is pretty bad, and it's all the same artist so that was weird.
I wouldn't say it's the best thing ever but a fun entertaining story and better than anything Costa wrote for Venom that's for sure. A 3 out of 5.

After buying the final volume for my wife to read I decided to finish this series.
And this is probably the weakest volume so far. Odd things like introducing new character who seem to have no real connection to the main plot. Giving background to third rate characters and somehow the story isn't funny (like previous volumes) and also being overly indulgent in itself...this is where the series loses me a bit.
However, I still enjoy the main relationship, the art is great, the emotional bits work, and there's a lot of funny to be had with the MAIN cast. I don't know where we're going, and I still enjoy it, but this felt a bit weaker than previous volumes.

Another crime story written by Brubaker, so you know this shit gonna be good.
We have a ex-fbi worker, who lost some of his memory, who now runs a Movie Theater, who also happens to help people with problems when they pay him. When a old friend comes around and asks him for help he can't deny her after their past. But once he gets tangled up in a web of lies he starts to get in over his head. Backstabbing, plenty of deaths, and a pretty fucked up ending we get everything we want from Brubaker.
The character work, as always, is really solid. The artwork, come on what do you expect. I wasn't completely sold on the partner for our main guy Reckless here, but I feel like we'll get more of her in the next volume coming out in 2021. Overall, if like any of Brubaker's work, this is a easy buy/read.
