Swing continues it's love story of a married couple trying swinging and their mistakes and triumphs!
This time we start with some fighting. After Cathy sees one of their swing friends at work and doesn't mention it to Dan and Dan finds out, things go sour. They fight, they go to therapy, and they try to fix things. This all feels a bit rushed and probably the worst but of something that could have been more interesting given it took its time. However, the second half is far more interesting and fun. Cathy continuing her growth as a character and business. Dan finally working towards his life goal. Some more threesums, 4sums, and then orgies. Family moments that have heart even which is nice. And a ending that'll make you want volume 4.
I don't know if I enjoyed this as much as volume 1-2 but I did enjoy it still to read on. I'll settle with a 3.5 this time.

A cute story of a single father trying to raise his kid while one of his students asks him for help cooking. So basically it's a cooking slice of life drama. It's cute, fun, and the characters are all well done. My main issue is how long can we go with this plotline? Every chapter is basically just a cooking lesson with some drama here or there. Also, the girl seems to like the teacher, which can turn into something weird. I might check out more later but for now I'ma give this a 3 out of 5.
Everyone always told me I needed to read this event, and finally I did!
This is broken into four sections. First is Drax's new origins story basically, Nova's fight for survival, Silver Surfer regaining his power, and Super Skrull on a mission. They all vary in quality but they all connect to Annihilus, a bug looking motherfucker with so much power, and such a big army, that even the strongest cosmic powers are going to have problems with this guy.
But let's break each section down.
Drax - Excellent origin story (I mean it's not origin but it feels it, and Drax is reborn, so it works). This features a Drax on earth having to face a couple of his alien friends while also meeting a girl named Cammi. Together these two bond to make one of the most interesting father/daughter dynamics I've seen.
Nova - Drax story goes right into Nova after he witnesses ALL of his people in the Nova Corp WIPED out by Annihilus army. This leaves Nova with the FULL nova force and he's able to do amazing things, as long as he doesn't go insane in the process.
Silver Surfer - One of the strongest beings ever goes back to Galactus seeking help while we see Thanos's big purple ass plotting. We also see more of Annihilus so this part worked too.
Super Skrull - Weakest of the 4 stories. Didn't much care about the character or his crew, and the art didn't work for how violent it became.
Overall, 3/4ths of this was good-fantastic. Well worth it. A 4 out of 5.

I seriously think Hellions is one of the best, if not BEST, X-men title out at the moment. Sinister and his crew arrive only to face creatures far worse than they thought. On top of that we get to see WHAT Sinister has had in mind and man...is it fucked.
Update Review 4 years later: So I echo a lot of what I said in the original. This time I listened to the audio version. After getting use to the accents I really ended up enjoying the voice work for almost every character. I believe some of the shouting and angry moments could be done a bit better but the rest is great. The story is still well crafted, and while it's a slow build at the start, once they get to the instiution the story picks up big time and you get to see how Pierce begins to perfect his pacing.
I'm super excited to get into book 2 in audio. Golden Son was one of my favorite books ever. But still is still great even with a slower start.
Imagine if you are born into a race and class that is worth less than dog shit. You work, dig, work, dig, that is your entire life. Now imagine one day you are given the ability to become God like. Huge, powerful, smart, fast. The ultimate weapon. You become this only to snake your way into a society to destroy it within. Would you do?
Would you do it if someone you loved died for it?
Darrow is a character filled with anger and rage. He lost far too much to stop now. He fights his way through this "Game" the "Golds" have made. Golds are the high class of this world, the high race, the best in the universe. Darrow plans on destroying them, and he'll do whatever it takes to do it.
Imagine elements of Hunger Games, Battle Royale, Game of Thrones, and most of all Enders Game and mix it all together. Sounds pretty good right? Well that's because it is. Not only is this entertaining, it's smarter than expected. Instead of just survival you must CREATE the new society in this game and it works well, giving you so many twist and turns that'll make you interested throughout.
I can't get in to too much without spoilers but the major positives are -
+Great Characters
+Well throughout society
+Perfect pacing and length
+Well detailed fight scenes
+Build up was worth it
-Little too heavy descriptions at first
-First half is a little slow
Overall you'll probably love this if you love any of the series I named above. Worth the read. Checking out book 2.

Holy shit this was the best issue in awhile. Cable going head to head with one of the evil sons of bitches but can he do what he must? Another mutant falls but in a brave way. The final fight is about to begin and we are all here for it. Let's fucking GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
A solid return to a pretty good series. While I was a little lost, the feel of "danger" is always around and the story structure is solid. I have questions on what the hell is happening but I'm excited to see where it goes.
Goddamn here we fucking GO!
This is the best volume so far. With the original three on a mission together to take down some demons they each get a moment to shine. I never know I needed this team up so bad. Nobara has kind of been a side player but in this she gets to show what she's made of. Easily the best moments in this volume are thanks to her with some new moves that are both gross and amazing. On top of that we get our boy Megumi who finally steps out of the shadows of worrying about everyone and focuses on him, unleashing all hell on a demon. Then we have Yuji working together with Nobara facing off against two brother demons and it's perfection.
Overall, this is everything I want in a battle manga. GREAT fight scenes, wonderful bloody attacks, great dialogue, and good backstory. Give me more like this Jujutsu and I'll be sticking with you FOREVER.
A 5 out of 5.

This was good but getting little bored of this series. With the whole "She hates me because I did this in the past" and a person getting tricked so easily I'm losing interest. But I might come back later. A 3 out of 5.
Annihilation: The Complete Collection, Vol. 2
Mike McKone, Andrea Di Vito, Christos Gage, Keith Giffen, Stuart Moore, Simon Furman, Jorge Lucas, Giuseppe Camuncoli
So this book contains the actual Annihilation event and damn is it brutal.
The first few issues build up the war one last time giving spotlight to a few underused characters. However, it's the 6 part Annihilation event that really shines. A brutal tale of war and carnage that rocks the cosmic world. With Nova trying to lead the defense best he could, with Kree army lead by Ronan, Peter from guardians, and a few other characters they try their best to stop Annihilus and his army.
The sheer force of Annihilus and his army is crazy. It's also insane to see some elite warriors as Galactus and Silver surfer suffer a horrible consequence. But the brutal war has a HELL of a payoff as issue 6 is one of the best endings to an event ever. The art also stays really solid showing off some major epic fights. The last part of the book is kind of a bummer as it's the aftermath but not very interesting except save for a few silver surfer moments.
Overall, the actual event is fantastic, even if the rest isn't as good, so I'll give it a 4 out of 5.
