Purposely confusing to throw you off, making you question what is real and what isn't. The story is basic. A 15 year old girl is trying to deal with a shitty life, with shitty parents, while also talking about her virginity and throughout the story we find clues that she might have been rape, might be in her head, might be she saved someone who was being raped, and her dealing with all the emotions and issues that come with being a teenager.

A somewhat interesting tale but being so confusing to the point of questioning the point hurt it for me. A 2.5 out of 5.

I don't always think events ruin comics but...this goddamn villain of the year shit RUINED Supergirl.

After two fun, exciting, solid volumes we get a messy as fuck conclusion. Right away you can tell Marc wanted to finish his supergirl run but the stupid infection of her came in. He wrote it best he could, and the build up to it was pretty interesting, but then she became this gothic/emo/scene hipster wannabe supergirl that was just intolerable. Then poor Jody Houser, who's a great writer, played it safe and did a two part story at the end to put this poor supergirl to rest. She never had a chance since rebirth began but least Marc set up some fun ideas.

This is bad though. A 1 out of 5.

I don't know really what this book was trying to tell but I couldn't get interested in it thanks to the dull characters.

The art is fine. It's very similar to Sandman and I believe the artist was one of the artist on that, so that was cool. But people still look weird and the action of it all didn't flow very well at all. The characters, who I can't remember a single name, didn't really do anything for me. The idea of the mother of the daughter here was being used and abused while Daphne dealt with seeing a spirit and (maybe) falling in love with her but also being her brother?

This is a weird fucking book. The worst of the HIll House for me and the only one I disliked so far. A 1.5 out of 5.

Jesus Christ these people get thrown through the fucking ringer.

I don't even know what to really say here without spoilers. Our main hero returns...barely. He's had enough of this bullshit. Our main female character just can't catch a break it seems. More and more the humans are ten times worse than the vampires. This volume is super intense, bloodshed, and the ending looks just as grim as the last few volumes.

Guess we'll know with the final volume soon enough.

Thor feels the weight of a King now as he sits on the throne. When Galactus comes to him, not for a fight, but pleading for his help, the King of Asgard has a mission that might be too much even for him.

Thor is on a mission to stop the Black Winter from coming. A force so powerful it'll wipe out everything. Galactus and Thor together go to planets so Galactus can feed off them to get stronger. However, Thor always gets people off the planets before he does such a thing. When the Black Winter arrives will both of them be able to withstand it or is it too powerful?

One thing I love about this run so far is the art. Epic would be the word to describe it. And with that awesome art, Cates pushes Thor as a true God, able to show his power in in full force. The threat is probably the weakest part as the reveal isn't as fulfilling as I wanted. But the path there is filled with great moments and the very last couple of pages gets me hyped of what is to come.

Thor is Cates newest Marvel project and it is shaping up to be as strong as his other work. A 4 out of 5.

Berserk is probably one of the first major animes I watched as a kid. Between Guyver and Dragon Ball Z getting pushed here as a child I stumbled upon Berserk in the 90's as a kid. Fell in love with the anime right away and watched it a few times growing up. HOWEVER the manga I stopped reading around 20 and just never went back to it. Now because it was bad, I still collect the series, I just didn't start reading them again.

Then I saw these Deluxe books coming out. I very rarely buy books again that I own. Even when it released I kind of ignored it. But then walking through books a million I saw this and I was blown away. The size of it, the hardcover...the feel. It was like screaming for me to purchase. But 50$ is a hefty pricetag. So I went online, saw they were doing buy 2 get 1 free, and then had a 20% off coupon for books a million this week and so I bought berserk deluxe volume 1-6 for half the prices they normally are.

Anyway you're like "James, I don't care why you got it. Is it good?" Well the point I was making is it's good enough for me to rebuy, so yes...it is that good.

See, Berserk is a dark series. Filled with dark themes, and I'm talking Rape, incest, mutilation's, child murder, and much more. So it is NOT for everyone and that's okay. It never really needed to be. Even drawn in the 80's all these years later the art is fantastic.

Guts starts his adventures on the first page fucking a demon. Just when the demon goes to kill him he blasts her face off. This sets the tone right away. Gritty, fucked up, and a world filled with loss. We then Meet Puck, a elf, who helps guts in the adventure. Luckily Puck gives some much needed humor inbetween the darkness of the series. The first arc here is mostly focused on learning the world and why it is filled with demons, meeting guts main enemy Griffith, and then ending the book with the Golden Age Arc which covers Guts childhood and this is the first maybe 9 years of his life, leaving it off with a horrible cliffhanger (Not bad, but terrible what happens).

While not the strongest arc it is a wonderful showcase to the art, action, and brutalness of the series. While the only negative of this arc is it is a little action heavy not getting TOO big of a story yet. It also shows more tender moments that you'll get later on. If you love Dark Fantasy and you've heard about Berserk, THIS is the version to pick up. Pages double the size and they look amazing. A 4 out of 5.

First half we lose a major mutant. Second half a wedding? WhT the fuck? Excalibur is as crazy as ever.

Before the fight more dinner. Everyone sizing each other up. Fun times!

This series is going in a weird direction but atleast wolverine is funny again. I like funny wolverine.

Knightfall ends better than it's middle part, but can never live up to the start.

With Bruce back he decides it is time to take down azrael. So he does just that. Springing his plan into action he begins to train to be able to conquer the younger and stronger warrior. But will he have to kill to become stronger is the question? On top of that Bruce has to go on vacation for awhile so Dick takes over as Batman. This is a interesting idea that I guess only last few months and it's not nearly as good as later on when Dick takes over after Bruce "dies".

However, what i did enjoy was how Azrael defeat came and the aftermath. It was simple but more effective than some massive battle. Saying that too Bruce is kind of just weird here, not having confidence in himself at all. If you thought he doubted himself in Tom king's run, he's a super doubter here. Luckily that changes about half way through.

But this whole collection is just decent. Dick finding out who he really is, bruce becoming Batman again, Tim being...well Tim. It all feels very "reset button" type but it's enjoyable none the less. A 3 out of 5.
