I'm starting to enjoy Johns Titans a bit more, but it isn't without problems.

I dunno why Legion has such a huge following, I tried a few of their books, and all were dull. This is the same. I didn't like the Teen Ttitans/Legions crossover. They were boring characters, not really interesting, and it got wrapped up way too quickly.

Then we jump into a actual interesting story where the Teen Titans basically meet their future selves. This is both exciting and fun, with the differences being large for some characters, while not so much for others. What I liked is their future selves all seemed believable, which isn't always the case with future storylines. But this storyline was great and was nice to see where James Tynion got his idea from for his detective comics run.

The last few issues deal with the fallout of secret identity storyline. Mostly focused on Tim losing his father in a rather touching issue of friendship and needing help. We also get a storyline on Doctor Light and he's one creepy motherfucker. I really liked what they did here and the surprise ending leads into some major events later down the line.

This is easily the best storyline so far in the series. Give me more of this please. Johns was able to craft a compelling story for everything after Legion.

Postal Deliverance brings a chilling second volume as good old mama returns to run the city once more.

See the thing is Mark doesn't really want to be Mayor and decides to hold a voting for the town to choose. Laura, his mother, has other ideas and wants to be Mayor once more. Why? Because she had power and does not anymore. However, there is a sicko on the loose murdering and killing people for fun and his next target is Mark and his family. Maybe we need Laura here to stop evil with her own little evil.

This was entertaining for sure. Faster paced, some exciting action moments, even great emotional bits too. The ending left me going "HOLY SHIT" and then we don't know the results yet, and won't, till the next volume.

Overall this was a pretty great volume. I'm excited for more now. A 4 out of 5.

I'm sure they just threw Rucka on this because they wanted the "new Krypton" thing to be bigger, but this came up as kind of a dud.

After a title that is confusing (Nightwing? What the fuck. That's not the REAL nightwing we all know) we get into a decent story of new warriors trying their best to stop the villains of Zod's army and the people who are infiltrating earth. But the story never really goes anywhere, and you need ALOT of knowledge on who these characters are to care about their adventure. The dialogue is fine, and the fights are pretty great, but the rest? Just okay. A 3 out of 5 at best.

Bleach continues with fast paced fights and stakes feeling super high. The training with ichigo to master bankei before Rukia execution is well done. The fight between Gin and Icy dragon is great. All of this volume worked.

Peter David was hailed as the greatest Hulk writer ever. Al Ewing Hulk is also considered now as to be the best, or atleast one of the best. Reading the current Immortal Hulk I'm in agreement, it's amazing. So I had to go back in time and read Peter David's to see if it lived up to the hype. Did it? Well it's starting to.

I'll admit the opening feels jarring. Apperently Peter David had to finish up a arc that had already begun so this is a weird start with another character, not Bruce Banner, being the hulk. The hulkbusters (not the Ironman hulkbuster) are a group of hulk haters and hunting him down. Soon into the arc Peter David introduces Gray Hulk. All the power of the hulk but not stupid either.

After the first shaky arc we settle into one shots and two shots. Vary in quality, The X-men one being the worst but still somehow fun and cheesy. Then we have a one shot of a killer on the loose and Hulk shows him what a REAL monster is. We have one of a creature who is basically like the angel of death, coming for hulk. We have Bruce also dealing with his wife and trying to balance his life but the Gray Hulk doesn't want to be apart of that shit.

What really works well, despite the aging of this, is you care about the characters. Sure some slang is super outdated, fights look silly, but the horrifying moments of Hulk's unsettling rage, Bruce's fight to be normal, betty's love being shattered, and more all work really well.

I hear it only gets better from here, and for that I'm super excited. But even as it stands here, it's pretty solid storylines. A 3.5 but I'll bump it to a 4.

A promising end to the first arc of the comic universe of Avatar.

Zuko marches with his army to try and settle things with the earth lord. Aang is trying to figure out what he wants and go through his feelings of what is right and wrong. Toph and the others are working together to make sure the two kingdoms don't destory each other. A little humor, a little political storytelling, and a lot of heart.

Avatar lands well here in the final part of the first arc. SO Nice to see Aang grow from this experience in multiple ways. Zuko as well. The ending is a nice cliffhanger to lead into the next storyline as well. The art is top notch and resembles the show so much it's not even funny. Overall, real good stuff and I'll be reading more.

A 4 out of 5.

Middlewest turned from a good series to a great one, and while the last arc stumbles a bit, the last issue lands BIG time.

This series is mostly about a boy trying to find his place, accepting his flaws (and family flaws) and learning to deal with his anger. While kidnapped at the end of the last volume we have him dealing with trying to escape with his friends. This makes for some exciting moments but honestly it feels very "been there done that" prison escape story line. What really works is the last issue which focuses on Abel and his father reunion.

We see the two clash as gigantic tornados but the real moment is when they both go back to being human and you see what rage and hate has done to both. But the point of it all is acceptances and moving on to better things. With a sentimental ending like this, and a fresh start, the series ends as strong as it started. It went from a 3 to a 3.5-4 because of that last issue.

While I didn't always love middlewest I did enjoy it throughout and the art was always fantastic. I'll miss this one. Hope to see more like this from Young in the future. A 4 out of 5.

Ice Cream Man returns to its former glory with this volume.

The first story ventures into a parody of a superman story but going into a very very very dark direction. This one was pretty solid, if not overly goofy at points. The next story is easily the best. A Man losing his memories due to a disease, or is it the goblin he keeps seeing in his mind? Every time he remembers the creatures takes it from him. This is a sad one but a really great one. The next is a weird story of a instructions like issue of a boy going through various stages of life. Pretty solid but weaker one. Last volume is another strong one of the ice cream man taking care of his "family" but the reveal is horrifying.

This is easily the best volume since 2. The sadness in each volume hits hard and with the exception of the first story each gives a very real feeling to life. I think the art keeps improving and works well for this series, hopefully he always stays on. Ice cream man delivers another satisfying volume and hope it continues to do well.

A 4 out of 5.

Holy shit...

So the prince, we saw what happened last volume. What happened? We get the truth here. Next up we have Death verse his brother/sisters. Or least he's about to when his son is in danger these guys are really pushing him. Mao is ready to march and end this whole damn world in her own way. Everything is actually coming to a big final confrontation with everyone hating each other.

I'm trying to keep this spoiler free but East of West really turned around for me. It was good at the start, great in the middle, and the ending so far is fantastic. So excited to get my hands on the final volume. I hope it ends as strong as it has been. A easy 5 out of 5. Hickman's strongest work so far.

This is actually turning out to be a sweet tale of basically a woman being like a older sister/aunt/mother-like-figure to a boy who has a really shitty living style.

I really enjoy a lot of the reactions in this book to situations because they aren't over the top anime/manga type reactions. Satoko is trying to figure out what to do in life and it doesn't help that her co-worker is kind of a dick and an old ex-boyfriend. On top of that Mashuu is trying to become the best he can be at soccer so those two story lines of them helping each other through darker times is nice.

I think the highlight of this volume is Satoko coming to the realization she can be who she wants to be, and learning to embrace being happy for a change. Mashuu learning to be more open with people and become friends was his mission. I think both did admirable jobs in this volume.

My Boy is coming off as a sweet story of two people in different stages of their life helping each other out. I really hope it continues to be this good.
