This volume kind of dragged on a bit too long. I love Flash, but the rest came up short. It's mostly the art that's a HUGE plus and also anything with Jay is great. The rest felt just build up after build up. Let us love some characters first and let them grow before keep introducing new ones. Hopefully they get better as they go.
Some neat art and cool idea don't help this story. Long and boring in most areas, ugly art in some, it's just not a compelling Batman story I was hoping for. Time to try Hush and hope for a better result.
Listen, you either love Deadman or hate it. It's faced paced, lots of action, bloody as fuck, and intense 80% of the time. If that sounds like your cup of tea you should grab this right now. Volume 2 continues where 1 left off. We get to meet more of the blood users, and really learn more about Genta and how he's going to survive. My major plus is the artwork and pacing, never boring. However, the language seems so tamed compared to the anime (dub/sub) are much more vulgar. Which makes sense due to what's happening on screen/page. So not sure why so toned down. Also, the start of this volume not nearly as amazing as the second half. Where it really picks up and leaves you wanting way more.
The revolution starts NOW!
Listen, Deadman Wonderland is fucking insane, and it's why I love it. This is a series that doesn't hold back on gore, blood, and a lot of weird shit. This volume you get to meet the rebels, and they're mission is to expose the place for what it is. Of course there's betrayal up the ass, and many many die, but not without a reason. See, Deadman makes you love and hate characters so well and flip flop a lot. Things get hairy, and people are closer to death than we'd hope for. So many secrets still popping up, who will die and who will live? Deadman is just getting started with this one!

One of my favorite moments is in this book but I won't spoil it. The "feels" are in this one. Sure it's a little light on plot, and some feels like padding, but overall another entertaining volume in just an insane fucking series. Go and enjoy!
This is the first volume that takes place after the show. It's not a bad volume by any means. We begin a new arc, and a interesting one at that. I do love the idea of having "Fake" deadman and giving our deadman a reason to join forces. The two huge negatives for me are the ending, which felt so similar to another one in a different volume. This can easily be changed in future volumes tho. Also, not enough emotional fallout from Volume 5.
Overall still entertaining, fast paced, and fun. So check it out if you haven't yet!

The pace picks up even more in this volume, making the big showdown against the evils of the Deadman Prison more interesting. So damn excited to see the full team come together to take down these pieces of shit.
This is where you get to learn the backstory to the majority of the cast. You get to see why they're in prison and most of the stories are actually interesting. It's a bit formulaic but damn if it didn't make the emotional fights that much better. Overall solid volume once more!
Finally, the secret is out the bag. Someone finds out about a secret identity. Also, the fights in this one feel very very on edge. ANYONE can die now, and someone major does, and it really hits you bad. The wonderland may be closed down, but the monsters that were created from inside aren't dead yet!
Finally! this book was lacking in the first half. Once the war came it got far more interesting. Listen, I love dialog, more than fighting, but some of the exposition in this series in insane. It makes me bored to read the same shit over and over again. However, the ending reveal to lead to the next arc, which is bringing superman back and evil is what got me excited. So off to the next volume!
