Another Nightwing volume, another okay volume.

The thing is the nightwing run here isn't bad but it isn't pushing anything new.

The first part is all about Shiva, and I'll be honest, besides are arc with Cass, she is always boring as hell. The next arc is death of the family and we find out how Joker got Dick and brought him into the fold to torture Batman. Last is Dick dealing with the aftermath of death of the family, and if that's not bad enough, dealing with Damien's death as well.

The ending is by far the best part. The stuff with Damien is gold and it shows these two are always meant to be Batman and Robin in my eyes. All that was good. Some of the stuff with joker is even good. The rest is boring, typical nightwing jumping around but no reason to care, and a terrible love story.

Overall a 3 out of 5.

I'm more of a trade collector, but I had to get this issue by issue for spoilers and man oh man...it was a ride.

So the Anti-life equation is here in full force. Death is coming for ALL our heroes and we have very little time left. The first issue starts off vicious with plenty of characters getting killed off quickly. Batman has a plan but maybe the guy with ALL the plans won't have one this time...maybe just maybe...he's one of the first to go?

Thinks are dire through this entire series but it does something so right that a lot of horror stories forget to do. Give us great characters. Make us FEEL when people die instead of just going "oh look at the cool kill" and Taylor nails it. Each character has their moment to shine but a lot of deaths hit hard because it's emotional. The art is also great with some horrifying deaths mixed with bombastic action.

Really, DCeased is a rare mini that will be great for a lot of people. Love zombie type stories? This works well. Love DC characters? This will work well. Love great art mixed with wonderful character moments? This works even better. This is a must read this year IMO and a easy 5 out of 5.

This was just boring as hell...what is Aaron doing anymore? This feels like a lost episode or something. Everyone speaks weird, especially Captain America, who feels like he's stuck in the 60's here with his lingo. Thor feels like movie thor and not even like Jason's thor from his own series. I dunno man, this is a mess. Least the art is decent.

This was half super fun and exciting and half...boring.

Killmonger isn't the best character to focus on since he's just a revenge driven dude. But this works for a lot of characters. Killmonger just kind of comes one note, just pure hate and revenge, and acts smarter than he is. That's my biggest thing, him acting smart. Which I guess is on purpose so he can grow but it happens so sudden, and too mystical, it doesn't feel earned.

Slipping into the good though, the art is amazing. Some fight scenes are pure badass, and the scale of them, going through multiple rooms and buildings all looks great. I even liked some of the side characters a lot, hell more than Killmonger.

But the book is uneven. It has moments of awesomeness, even bullseye makes a sweet guest appearance. But then it goes into dull territory with the queen and her meaning to Erik. So try it out, worth reading, but can't highly recommend. A 3 out of 5.

Another fun adventure. Kitty hasn't been written this well in awhile. Red queen time baby.

Weakest part of the series so far. We take a look at Shaw and his son. It's nice to see the world building and what the big bad is planning but these characters aren't nearly as interesting as Kitty and Co.

Was pretty cool to see big moves made by summers. Bit confused on who are certain characters. But wolverine moment made this issue. 1 more to go but shaping up to be great end to volume 1.

Goddamn this was fun. Kitty being super fun and bishop being interesting again? Main baddies making big moves? Fun saving mutant children adventures? Storm being a badass? Check, check, check. Let's gooooo!

Part origin story, part covering up the past storylines and pushing a new story for future. Neither great, neither bad. Just a decent volume. I know fraction can do better.

Holy shit this was great. The politics, the world building, and what happens to Sabertooth. The mutants are NOT playing around.
