Wow, I actually had the total opposite reaction than I thought I would.

So what is this? Damien has had enough of Deathstrokes shit. He goes after Slade, HARD, with the entire Teen Titans behind him. After he does capture him he throws him in the super prison he created under the Teen Titan tower. Now, this is freaking SLADE WILSON so you know this isn't going to go well. What happens if all the prisoners get out? What happens when secrets escape and the team finds out what Damien and Red Arrow were doing?

So yeah. The teen titans stuff? Was pretty rad. Seeing Damien deal with his inner demons as well as Red arrow was great. Loved the Crush stuff and her admitting her feelings. All the banter was pretty funny and emotional. All the art was good. The deathstroke stuff? Kind of lame. He felt like a plot device for every character here. Didn't care for any of his stuff really which is odd, cause loved most of his run.

Overall, I expected to love Deathstroke stuff, and be meh on Teen titans. It was the opposite. Surprise! Overall pretty fun cross over. A 3 out of 5.

In typical Punisher fashion, the crazy son of a bitch goes on killing everything in his way. This time it's more Nazis. So that's always fun to watch.

Zemo things he has everything figured out. He kidnaps frank, tortures him, and puts him in prison. He then uses Chamlion to create a fake Punisher and have him do even worse things than usual. This leaves Punisher stranded in the hell hole with all these Nazi scum. But that's exactly where Frank wants to be. The man is ready to blast and cut every motherfucker till he gets to Zemo.

It's fun, entertaining, gory, and it'll even make you laugh at times. Watching Zemo try to keep control is too funny. Punisher having some one liners is also pretty great. The art can be pretty gritty and fucked up to. Though the art is sometimes hard to follow and the story is basically Punisher is god-level powers and fucks everything up. So can get boring to some.

I do think this is highly entertaining despite plot being pretty bare. A 3 out of 5! Last volume coming right up!

Highly paced issues with a lot of twist and turns. We get some closure on the Women of Prey vs Harley arc, we find out what Atom has been up to, we see Superman and Wonder Woman team up, and explosive finale that'll leave you wanting more. This is hands down one of the best DC comics out right now.

Leave it to Donny Cates to bring both a GOOD event and make Carnage scary again.

So Brock isn't doing too well lately. With his son he's basically on the run all the time. But recently carnage used Brock's face to murder a bunch of people in prison and now everyone is after him. So Brock decides to face off against carnage but this isn't the same old red twin. This is a bigger, badder, more GODLY version of Carnage. Yes...Brock is in trouble and he turns to someone you might not expect.

This is a nice slowburn, creepy, and sometimes funny first issue into an event I'm actually very excited for. It mostly comes down to Cates nailing down personalities, especially Brock, Peter, and even creepy old Carnage. Together he works with Stagman to have some of the best fucking art around right now. The fights are drawn great and there's some horrifying moments that'll make you go "oh shit".

It's kind of amazing how good this event is. I expected it to be decent but it turned out freaking great. Let's hope it continues. A 4.5 out of 5.

Is this a real comic?

This must be a joke...

So Hul- I'm sorry, DAMAGE, is about a man who loses control and becomes a big hulking monster and hulks out by beating up every fucking superhero you can think of. Suicide squad, wonder woman, poison ivy and more make their fun little cameo in this terribly boring, beat up everyone, rip-off comic. Nothing besides some art is worth checking this out.

Sejic is the BEST artist in the game. There's a ton of great ones, but man oh man, everything I open his book it wows me.

Okay so Harleen is a more slice of life story about Harley before she becomes...when the Joker's weapon basically. So we have Harleen here going through various stages of her life, her in college, her banging her teacher, her trying to be a good doctor, and then...JOKER! One faithful night the crazy fuck meets her, nearly kills her, and she watches as the Batman beats the evil clown down to the ground.

I actually enjoyed this opening chapter. It kind of has a "you know it's all going to go to shit" but it's so refreshing to see Harley done in a different manner. One where you can feel her change will be more natural, yet also root for this character. I also love love love the art. Sejic does an amazing job. I thought the Joker was too good looking at points and also too "charming" but I guess this is Harleen's view point so it could be a interesting twist.

Overall though, I want more. DC, get Sejic to write more you fools! A 4 out of 5.

First half is amazing. Second half is good but the future stuff is okay.

From what I understand this is Cates earlier work just republished under new brand. So while not as good as some of his recent work it's still pretty damn enjoyable.

So vampires have taken over earth. This is not good and so the president who looks like a 12 year old send a android like woman named Poli down to earth to kill them all. There she meets Weep, a little dude with a bad temper ready to fuck shit up. Together they escape the clutches of the vampires and fight back to win the planet back!

It's over the top and insane, like most of Donny Cates creator owned titles. The mission to take back the earth is pretty fun, and the characters are always good. I especially enjoyed Weep and the main vampire villain, who has some hysterical fucking lines. The art is solid and some great action set pieces. I did think it was a been drowned out by dialogue boxes, a little too much, and also some of the characters didn't work for me. I especially didn't like the president and Poli was just okay. I think the pacing had a few issues here.

It's always interesting to see older work from now big and upcoming artist/writers and how they grew. I think this is good but it's obvious Cates becomes even better the more he writes. This is still fun though, a 3 out of 5.

Savage Avengers ain't kidding about the savage part.

So a new asshole is in town and he's summoning creatures and being a evil dude. He goes after Voodoo first and Wolverine tries to stop his murder but it doesn't happen. This then brings together a band of unlikely heroes including Wolverine, Voodoo, Electra, and Conan the fucking Barbarian as well as Punisher and Venom. Together can this brutal team work together to stop a evil force from taking over the world? Well yeah. They're the Savage goddamn Avengers baby!

This is truly over the top and one of the most insane avengers titles I ever read. Wolverine is chopping ninja's arms and heads off left and right. Conan is putting a sword through an eye. Electra is stabbing people. I mean it's pure chaos yet it's all pretty fun. Conan is a highlight as a fish out of water type character with some lolz lines such as "The might Dwarf, will you fight along side me?" When talking to Logan. Great times.

On the flipside the plot is so paper thin you'd wonder if there is really one. Also, the inclusion of people like Punisher and Venom feel pretty forced.

Listen, it's not perfect, but it's damn entertaining. I couldn't help but smile reading most of this. A easy 3.5 out of 5.

And so comes the end to King's Batman.

This run seems to be either "love" or "hate" but I personally think it has a lot of ups (and a few big downs). While not every arc worked for me, I enjoyed the majority of them. I think King writes a broken man trying to find peace with who he is. And by the end he gets that, even if it feels a little forced.

Batman is going against bane here for the final time and he's not about to let himself down. You get a huge showdown between the two but with a special guest star who whoops some goddamn ass all on her own. You also get Thomas wayne being a asshole killer Batman. With the loss of a major person in Bruce's life, will he still come out a hero? Will he hang up the cowl? Will this be the final moments of our hero?

I really liked some of this. There's a moment Bruce reflects on a loss that is done really well. I also loved the fight between Batman and Bane and the art stays fucking FRESH. So all that is great. Thomas wayne though is a let down for me, his motives sometimes too over the top and silly. I also thought the very ending was just decent, and didn't finish off with a bang. I assume it is because King was pushed off the title a bit early (Not cool DC...not cool.)

Overall, the entire run had some fantastic arcs but the last few arcs were a bit shaky so the end itself isn't great but still good. This volume is a 3 out of 5 for me overall.
