This is one of those mangas I don't really understand the appeal. It's about a merchant being a...merchant. That means going around towns, selling, getting tips, and creating a profit while living on the road. There's other series like this, and I get the slice of life appeal, but it's not done in a interesting way. Saying that, the main characters work well enough and the art is great. I also really enjoy the fact the nudity isn't shown to be "Sexy" or "fanservice" but as a matter of fact they are naked when they want/need to be and it isn't more than that. Also, the main character despite being half fox is a cutie.
Overall though, it's kind of boring. It's good for what it goes for, and art is great, but not for me. A 2.5 out of 5.

The classic storyline of the return of Jason Todd. I watched the movie way back and enjoyed it a lot, but never got around to reading the comic. Now that I did, what is the verdict? It's great!
This is a quickly paced fight of who can outsmart who first. Bruce has been outsmarted before but never by someone so close. To know almost everything he will do in nearly every situation. A nice twist is that Jason Todd is revealed pretty early on in a wonderful beat-down to the one who had killed him in the first place. Then we watch as both Red Hood and Batman butt heads and also team up some, leading up to the final confrontation that you know won't go well.
There's a lot to like here. I love the character of Bruce here. A father unsure of what to do about his son coming back to life. It gives the character a nice depth. I also LOVE Black Mask here. He's funny as hell and also a real asshole, too good. Jason is great and maybe one of the only times I really enjoy the character himself. Joker also brings the lolz while giving a nail biting situation at the very end. The very end of the climax is a little flat and the art can be wonky at times.
Overall though this is fantastic. It is a classic for a reason. A 4.5 out of 5.

Young Justice (2019-) #4
Dan Mora, John Timms, Brian Michael Bendis, Patrick Gleason, Alejandro Sánchez
The story structure is so odd. Feels confusing at times for no other reason than to be confusing.
Saying that this is the strongest issue since 1. A ton of great action moments, perfect reunions, and some good reveals. This was paces better too with a satisfying cliffhanger. Hope the way the story is told improves though. A 3.5 but I'll go with a 4.

Manhunter, Vol. 4: Unleashed
Javier Pina, Cafu, Marc Andreyko, Fernando Blanco, Brad Walker, Diego Olmos
This has to be one of my favorite surprise series. Marc just keeps giving us quaility character moments that build upon great superhero stuff.
With a awesome court case gone wrong manhunter has to step up in a big way. If that's not epic enough, wonder woman makes her way to manhunter for help. Theres also a solid plotline with Chase and her past coming to haunt her.
There's only one other storyline in here and overall that one is kind of weak. Saying that, this is a great volume. A 4 out of 5.

This was pretty good but I can't help but feel like I wanted more.
Kraven is up to his old tricks. He wants the Spider dead. Instead of going after him head on and failling for the 100th time he decides to play it smart and capture a bunch of other insect like heroes and villains and use them as weapons to kill each other. But more than that he lets rich pieces of shit use robots to hunt and kill them. The twist and turns keep coming as the end results have our hero at odds on who to save and who to let go.
I enjoyed some moments a lot. There's some great funny moments and Spencer writes Peter on the edge of losing his shit well. I also enjoyed everything with the Lizard and his son and it was smart for Spencer to make a call back to the best storyline from brand new day era. The art is solid though the symbiot looking suit Peter wears looks HORRID. I also didn't like the ending and felt it was a bit lame on the whole event.
Overall, it was a solid Spider-man mini-event but hardly anything amazing. I enjoyed some moments a lot but this isn't one of the all time greats and I know Spencer can produce a better story in the end. A 3 out of 5.

Didn't really like this volume. Seems this series is kind of running out of steam. Well, the first half or more was fantastic but turned to just decent/good. Now it's eh. A 2.5 out of 5.
Guys! I had my baby! She's amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay so I read this the night before my little girl came into my life. So this had some pretty heavy expectations to live up to. Luckily, it hit most of them. I really enjoyed this a lot.
Bruce has a enemy who is taking him down every single turn. He goes after his loved ones, people he cares about, and with such ease it makes him worried he can't stop him. When it gets to the explosive conclusion it ends in a different way you might expect but the journey to that reveal is both brutal and kind of revealing of who Batman truly is.
This is mostly a great character study on a character such a Bruce. Batman remains vigilant despite his whole world crumbling around him. It's great to see with solid art to back it. I loved nearly 90% of the story. The very ending reveal kind of leaves you going "Oh man" but it also makes you reflect so for that it's still good not great for the ending. The lead up was great. A 4 out of 5.

Art was amazing and Peter had some cool set up, with basically angels verse nazi's. However, none of the character really interest me. I wanted to like it more than I did. Sorry for short review, baby crying for food, but this was okay. A 2.5 out of 5. I'll bump it to a 3 for the art alone.
In the world of Sunstone and Swing we get the third piece here and...is it good?
To catch you up we have Sunstone which deals with BDSM, we have Swing, which deals with...well swinging. Now we have Sugar, which deals with sugar daddy lifestyle. Something most people look down on (not sure why) but this book looks to deal with it respectfully.
Julia is the main character here and she's a poor college student just trying to make it by. On the flipside we have John who's recently divorced and is in a dark, lonely, place. Together they meet through odd circumstances and begin a new relationship. A sugar daddy one in some cases. Julia doesn't want to be viewed that way, John doesn't mind, that is until John's ex wife, who's a evil bitch, comes back into play.
Good: I really do like Julia. A hardworking, trying to make it by any means necessary, while also being a decent human being. I thought the sex scenes were solid, because that is a draw to the series, and they work here. Not really distasteful, though Swing and Sunstone had better ones this worked. The ending also concludes with a rather happy note.
Bad: Not sure where else or what else they can explore here. I thought the best friend of John's was a little over the top. Like the typical "Asshole best friend" in romance movies type. I also thought some of the dialog could be a little iffy as well as the art.
Overall it's solid, fun, interesting subject matter that does it respectful. It has issues, not as strong as Sunstone/Swing, but I did enjoy it overall. A nice 3.5 out of 5. I'll bump it up to a 4 because it's enjoyable more so than not.

Swing goes deeper into the world of Swinging with Cathy and Dan meeting other couples like them.
The slowburn approach of the series, getting to know Dan and Cathy normal living situation, their kids, and family life and work life mixed with the sex part of it is what keeps this series strong. Dan is ready now to try a swing couple but as they soon find out, it's harder to find a couple who's really who they say they are. From funny meet ups, to crazy text messages, to some rules being broken already, a lot of swing is about to get more interesting as Dan and Cathy go down this path.
Overall, a very solid followup to volume 1. The sex scenes are bigger and better. The teachable moments of Swinging is done with respect to people who do it, but also pretty interesting for people not willing to go there. The art stays strong as always. I dug the character development though some of the work plotlines didn't really do much for me.
Overall, if enjoyed volume 1, this is just as good. A 3.5 out of 5, but I'll bump it to a 4.
