The next arc begins and somehow it still remains fucking great.

Thorfinn is ready to travel to Vinland. His mind is set on creating a new world, one with happiness and no war. It's nearly impossible of course but it still brings something new to the table that we're used to violence and pain. Before we get going through we are introduced to Lief, a woman who wants to be a sailor. Of course back in the day that was NOT allowed but she won't just get married off, will she?

This is a great chapter of a new adventure. It's more hopeful, some great humor, and the art as always is amazing. I loved the hell out of the new additions of Lief, as she has plenty of spunk. I do love Thorfinn's growth as a character. The ending is a "OH SHIT" moment and brings something new to the table. I once again love this series. A 5 out of 5.

Knightmares is a bunch of short stories all coming together.

This is Batman going through various nightmares. Some of his worst fears, including the loss of Salina, his kid, facing off against a old villain, and more. The fears and problems range from worldwide treats to personal demons that he hasn't gotten over yet or fully accept.

While this volume various in quality it's still following something I really enjoy. The mental breakdown of Bruce is both interesting and sad. Never has Bruce been shown in this way that he's losing himself. To me it makes him most relatable. Especially the story with bachelor part. The ending leads to something exciting as well. Not every story works for me though, especially the joker one in here, felt kind of lame.

Overall a solid collection. While not as strong as the last two volumes it's still good. A 3 out of 5.

This wasn't bad, but not great either.

Homeland storyline is basically Cap dealing with his goverment and the army trying to fuck him over. A lot of backstabbing and evil people behind the shadows ready to take him out. You also get a cute little love story of cap and his new girlfriend. The other stories feature in here are a short on Bucky and also a time traveling, time hoping, confusing story about the granddaughter of Steve Rogers. It's weird and oddly done, and not all that interesting.

Overall, it wasn't bad. Homeland least had some really fun fights and I enjoyed the art a lot. The dialogue also works pretty well and the girlfriend stuff was all super cute. I also enjoyed the Bucky short quite a bit. The other storyline was pretty awful and not at all interesting.

Overall a decent book. All leading up to my re-read of Captain America by Ed Brubaker! A 3 out of 5.

Extremely boring and nothing to do with Civil War till the very end. This was a wrap up for David Hine's other series going on at the same time but I never read those except the Gotham Central version of Mutants. This just didn't work for me at all.

Glad how much better Kirkman got after this because this...was not good. Now I can finally move on to Ed brubaker re-read!

I'm let down by Ron Marz here, usually enjoy his stuff, but this? Not so much.

This is about Velocity. A super fast woman who can kick butt. Sounds fun, right? However, people are getting infected with some type of virus, and I guess I would understand more if I read Cyberforce or whatever, but I'm not going to do that. So anyway, this girl here is ready to take on the bad guys with her charm! Big robots and super villains all try to kill her on the way.

It's not that it's horrible. Because it's not. The art isn't bad either. In fact, I believe some of the action set pieces look great. I even like her design a lot, it's pretty rad and I love red hair what can I say.

But the story really is boring. It has no life to it other than she going around out running and out smarting her bad guys but her bad guys are super super lame. Then you got this art, which can look real good, but every single pose or attack she does got her ass just shoved right up on that panel. I'm all for fan service every once in awhile but when got her tight skin suit outlining her ass, vagina, and half her boobs sticking out, it's a bit much to take at all serious.

So yeah it's okay. It's not the worst thing I read but I'll probably not remember any of it tomorrow. A 2 out of 5.

So this is a book for people who never really read much Captain Marvel. Which actually works for me because only read few volumes here and there.

So Carol is doing her Avenger thing, kicking butt, when she starts to have panic attacks about her past. To face your fears might be the only solution. So she heads back to her little old town to visit friends and family. Try to face the reality of her abusive father and her upbringing. In doing so she finds out some insane secrets about her mother but also some terrible things happen to her family.

This was decent. It didn't blow me away but some of these 1 star reviews are silly. The art is solid with some really cool moments (the cover art is amazing) and the dialogue is actually pretty strong. Nothing sounds out of place, maybe a bit long in spots, but that's it. The plot itself is shaky but it works good enough to understand and has its moments.

Overall it's not mindblowing but it's solid enough. A 3 out of 5.

This was a nice surprise.

So take a 60's version of batman and a 80's version of Batman and have them switch worlds.

Dragonflyman is a superhero in both. However, on one world he is a gritty badass vigilante fighter who lost his sidekick and vows to kill anyone who fucks with him. The other-side of the coin is a happy go lucky hero who stops crime like it's a Saturday morning cartoon everyday. When these two switches spots into their world they must adapt to save the city. Will they be able to or are they doomed?

I thought the story was well balanced throughout. Both versions of the same character kept me very interested. The ways they would do things was so different but at the same time their results weren't ALL that different, which was interesting and fun to see. I also enjoyed the art, both lively when it needed to be, with great colors, and dark and gritty too. The dialogue was mostly really solid with plenty of great banter.

The only negatives really were the extra chapters were bland and depressing to be depressing and some of the villains talked way too much.

Overall, super fun time here. Can't wait to read book 2. A 4 out of 5.

Besides the one issue of the past where we see how a female iron fist became the first this is a vampire centered story. I love blade so I was pretty excited for this but it failed to deliver much more than a few funny moments and cool action set pieces. Loved seeing big epic fights with this team of avengers and both robbie and thor have their share of funny moments. However the plot is boring and the subplot with Tony was pretty meh. Overall decent but not as good as the last volume. 2.5-3 out of 5.

This was actually damn fun. Better than last volume but not as good as volume 1. So almost great!

This is basically running along the main fantastic four series. While Reed and co are facing off against gods and Johnny returns, Val and her brother together work with their uncle doom to move everything forward. It'll be confusing if haven't read fantastic four volume 5 but if you did, it was pretty great lead up. I also really enjoyed the last issue which was Johnny and Peter living together. It's nice to see Hickman go full comedy for a bit.

The art...wasn't for me. Felt like a weird romita knockoff but not as good. It was a major issue for me overall.

I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5 but I'll bump it to a 4.
