This was pretty fun. Ales Kot channels his secret avengers writing skills and goes a little batshit here.
Suicide squad is pushed back together, as always, but now besides Waller we have James Gordan helping her run the crew. He's extremely dangerous and also a bit insane, but that's what she needs to gain the advantage. Nobody is getting along of course but isn't that what makes the suicide squad so fun? Also two backup issues from other comics are placed at the end here about Harley and Deadshot's past.
Overall, pretty fun. Not like amazing or anything but fun enough. I wish this was as funny as the first volume of the "New Suicide Squad" but for what it is, I had fun reading it. The bonus chapters kind of sucked though. A 3 out of 5.

This is the first time I've finished Bendis New Avengers run (he does another after this but it's much shorter)
So we start this off after Norman Osborn has taken over Shield and his Dark Avengers have taken over. Dark Reign is one of my favorite eras in Marvel too since it turns a lot of villains into heroes in the public's eye. So this volume, 80% of it, is basically the new avengers on the run from the dark avengers. On top of that, The Hood's gang decides to follow a new leader who actually becomes pretty dangerous.
This is pretty entertaining. Pace wise it's great. Lots of quips so be ready for that, but it's the fun plot that works well. While the first issue and a couple of middle issues seem oddly placed, and only getting glimpses of what happened in siege, the overall plot and storyline is ton of fun. Basically a survival chapter in the New Avengers world. A 3.5 out of 5, but I'll bump it to a 4.

This was pretty decent. Most civil war stuff surrounding the event is better than the actual event itself.
This mostly has the reed family at war. Reed believes what he is doing is right. Susan believes he is wrong. The Thing doesn't know what he believes. Johnny is caught between the two. This leads to everyone at each other throat, choices will be made, and by the end you get a weird new statue quo.
Overall, pretty interesting arguments. The ending is a let down but all the start and middle kept me entertained. A 3 out of 5.

This was pretty damn good.
After the events of 9/11 we have a broken cap. Trying to piece against the world again. The first issue of him digging through the pile of the buildings where he's trying to save a few people is just perfect captain America. Then have Captain America stop a hate crime from happening in true Captain America fashion. Then we get into the real meat of the story of terrorism and it's probably one of the most patriotic yet capturing who Cap is.
Surprisingly the story does justice to current events at the time. I think a lot of it still rings true, on how hate breeds fear, which cause people to do horrible things. So wonderful. The art is pretty solid too as is the pacing. The ending ends as I expected so that was a bit let down since I thought they could have pushed it a little more. Saying that, this was a really entertaining captain america story.

This was a blast!
So Conan is now in the same world as the Avengers. How weird and insane is that? And what happens when the hand tries to come after him? Well he's going to drive his fucking sword through their faces. That's the first few pages. Conan killing all the hand that comes at him. Then Wolverine shows up and things get brutal for the two heroes.
This issue is short and sweet and right to the point. The hand are the bad guys, got someone trying to summon a evil, and all the heroes begin to come together. However, there's some nice twist and turns and the grim art works real well for the brutal kills.
This is avengers but feels like X-Force version of it. I'm down with it. A 4 out of 5.

This was decent.
Steve Niles know how to build tension and give a decent voice to a lot of characters. He does both well. The pacing is a little odd as things happen so quick. Also the art is a little off and it's hard to tell what the fuck is happening but I also love the cold feel of it.
Oh, what is it about? Basically vampires come to Alaska and kill people since the sun goes down for 30 days. It's a cool concept that works out better here then in the movie version.
Okay this is a really short review but this is a decent horror story worth reading if like a lot of death and vampires. A 3 out of 5.

This started off great but the 2nd half kind of drops the ball.
We get a story of people betraying Cap. There's nothing really new there, that seems to always happens. But when Cap meets a old buddy of his we get a flashback of who Steve is. With that you think these two, once friends, can see eye to eye. However, even the villain you can feel for in some ways. Similar to Killmonger from Black Panther, you get a sense of sadness for this character and his previous experiences.
While it starts off as political as the last volume and just as interesting, it falls into one of my most hated comic tropes. Illusions. Cap has to fight what isn't there to grow into a new person. It's boring and not interesting. I did like how the ending wrapped up though.
Overall, it's worth a read since it's still well written and this is 100% Captain America. But the middle up until the end is blah and over done. A 3 out of 5.

Least interesting of the John Ney Rieber stories read about captain america.
This is kind of a mish mash of going into someones mind to find the truths, cap dealing with the lies and secrets kept from him, and...some Atlantis fights! It starts with a package Steve receives and of course it changes everything. What is real? What is fake? Who are his friends? Who has been using him as a weapon? It all comes to head here.
Jae Lee's art helps this book a lot. While the story is messy and unsatisfying ending, the art is great throughout. The moody atmosphere, wonderful fight scenes, and great emotional moments shown really well done with Lee's art. I just wish the story remained solid instead of jumping around, confusing, and giving a bleh ending. A 2.5 out of 5, but I'll bump it to a 3.
