Another 10 week run series, but is this one better than the last? Well...yes. Yes it is.
So we have the gods getting killed by some evil dark woman (very similar to Hela) and now Hercules and the B-list avengers begin to team up to take her and her people down. This includes some heroes might know like The Vision, Hulk, Hawkeye, Rocket, and more. This also introduces Conan. Yes, that Barbarian. Together, will they be able to defeat the evil? Well...this is the Avengers.
Overall, this was a pretty quick read even at 10 issues. Some of the avengers get some great lines, mostly Hulk, Hawkeye, and Rocket. Conan comes in and the fish out of water thing and his fights are pretty epic too. The rest though? It kind of boring. A lot of punching and kicking but we know the heroes will come through. The stakes aren't there at all. Also, the art at times was great and other times...not so much.
Overall, good stuff that's worth reading for fans of the avengers B-list cast. Nothing mindblowing but a solid fun avengers mini-event. A 3 out of 5.

This was pretty decent even if it felt super rushed.
The Weaponer is a powerful weapon's creator who decides he wants to exact revenge on Sinestro. Sounds like a good idea since Sinestro is basically Hitler. Except the idiot decides to take Natu as his priosner after beating the shit out of her and Kyle. This is a bad idea as Sinestro really doesn't give much of two shits about anyone but himself. This leads Kyle and his friends to rescue her but this brings a war with them.
Overall, this is pretty fun. I think the characters kind of act, well, out of character at points. Also everything feels a bit rushed to lead up to the great green lantern war. So all the pieces moving to quickly to relax and enjoy the stakes. But the fights are fun, the art is great, and Kyle gets to shine a bit. So overall worth checking out for fans of green lantern. A 3 out of 5.

Got so bored half way through I stopped.
I guess there's only a few Wonder Woman stories I actually care about. Has nothing to do with artist/writer, just some strike me as interesting and some don't. This is a snooze fest for me.

This was SO many things all in one, I give the author credit on trying to tackle various subjects in just one volume.
So the story begins with a woman in the skies. She's able to fly! That's exciting. That's new. And she dies in the first maybe 15 pages of the book. Explodes in mid-air. So you expecting some superhero story will not get it here. No, this is the story of a very troubled teenager named Luna. She is dealing with the loss of the hero and with voices in her head telling her to do terrible things, she goes to do something instead horrible to herself. However, before she could, she is introduced to something that'll change her life forever.
This story is basically tackling mental illness in a interesting and very dark way. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, has moments in their lives when they think terrible things. You can be the nicest person in the world but horrible thoughts of killing or hurting or doing terrible things does creep up. If you say no, you are a liar. And maybe that's your dark secret. Either way, this story really focuses on Luna's unstable mind-frame while also coming back to the fact she is actually a good person.
The other side of this book deals with the person who helped create the flying woman. This is a less interesting part of the book but still engaging mostly due to pacing and his partner in crime (If want to call it that) and their dialogue and strong human emotion. Both flawed characters who do terrible things to get what they want.
This is a highly fast paced thriller with some real great human moments. The side cast really shines here with some great in-look into mental illness amongst violence and carnage. I'm eager to see what else Cantwell writes from here on out. Looks like a sequel to this is coming out and I'll be glad to pick it up.

So just like most of this season, this is good stuff, but not great.
This is the end and we have a big bad finally. You guessed it, the revenge demon who's been scheming since the start betrays everyone. So now Buffy and her pals must stop him! Will they be able to do so? Will Dawn and Xavier get back from hellzones? You'll have to read to find out!
No, but seriously, it's predictable as hell and kind of boring at times because of it. However, Gage does a real solid job on the dialogue. I'm hoping season 11 will be even better since it's shorter. This one ends on a 3 out of 5.

This might be my favorite hulk comic ever made.
So the first volume 1 was good. Volume 2 had a lot of great moments. Volume 3? Hulk in hell? Hulk talking about who he truly is. Finding out what happened to Ross. Hulk going berserk when a close one to him dies. What did Hulk learn in hell? This is demon hulk after all and his mission has not changed. He is here to end the world. But...something is happening. Questions of who he is and why he is.
This is one of the most compelling volumes of hulk I've read in some time. It has great questions on who and what the hulk is. It has amazing pacing which leaves you wanting to know more and some excellent fight scenes. The art actually works even when it changes. Betty is back and in a very meaningful way. The ending is bonkers. Yeah...this is f'ing awesome. A 4.5-5 out of 5.

Red Lanterns, Volume 4: Blood Brothers
Dave Sharpe, Robert Venditti, Charles Soule, Dezi Sienty, Jon Sibal, Jim Calafiore, Walden Wong, Gabe Eltaeb, Sean Chen, Alessandro Vitti, Taylor Esposito
Damn the first half of this was amazing, the 2nd half is good.
Okay so Guy goes undercover to find out what the Red Lanterns are up to. It's easy enough as he dispatches the last boss with ease. Shows him who is boss and then decides to run the gang of 5 or 6 remaining red lanterns. It's actually fun to watch Guy lead them as a leader. Then got Lights Outs crossover coming in and messing up the flow and of course only get a piece so the last two issues feel like one shot type deals of Red Lanterns doing there thing.
The idea of having Guy as the leader of the Reds is great. He's been one before, he's fun as a leader, and can believe his change. I also think the pacing for first half is great. I wanted to know what happened every second. The ending does lead to some interesting things coming. The only negative really is the second half doesn't feel as tightly made and also the art can be wonky at times.
Overall, It's more like a 3.5 because of the event fuck up but still fun. A 4 out of 5.

This was better than volume 1 but still didn't blow me away.
So Kate comes face to face with her worst enemy. Her pops. Now this asshole has done a lot of terrible things but did you know he has powers? Yeah, me either. So with a Purple Man-lite thing going on Kate might be in more trouble then she expected. With her scooby group of crime fighters she must go through some fight club shit and cracking a brand new case.
Overall, it's fun. Kelly Thompson does good with the dialogue. The best issue was actually the one shot with Kate and Laura and little gabby. They all team up to take out some bad guys and it's filled with a lot of funny moments. I also enjoyed Kate here more, this is more intense yet has better humor than the last volume. Still a little boring at times and the dialogue heavy pages can be a bit much. Also, the villain is boring. A 3 out of 5.

Hawkeye ends it's run similar to how it started, fun.
As Kelly says in the back of this volume, she tried to followup Hawkeye Investigations with one of the best, if not the best, Hawkeye series of all time. Matt Fraction struck goal with his fun. Lemire had a solid followup. Kelly did an admirable job here but it's hard not to judge it when it follows so soon after.
Saying that, this volume is pretty fun. We have Kate and Clint teaming up. So they are hawkeye duo that shoots and whoops ass. A lot of funny moments, good emotional payoff for Kate here, and pacing is really well done. I thought the art was still great too. The first issue is from Legacy one shots is decent enough. The ending kind of goes out on a bit of a whimper too but I'm eager to see what Thompson got cooking up with west coast avengers.
Overall pretty good. I wish I could say great but I can't. Still, if Hawkeye fan, there's some fun moments to be had. A 3 out of 5.

Still on my Avengers high here from Endgame, so reading through Bendis Avengers and New Avengers now.
So this takes place when it was almost like a "Reborn" stage in Marvel. After Siege this was to start fresh. Don't worry, New Avengers is still being made at the time, which is more street level type heroes. This is where all the big wigs come in. Cap (Who is still Bucky here), Iron-man, Thor and more. Kang the conquer comes back to let the heroes know that time is all fucked up. Oh yay, this is like Endgame where the heroes have to fix time. Oh wait, no, not back in time! To the future with their kids!
This was pretty fun. I mean got the gang mostly back together, a new leader in maria hill, and got Tony back who is not a complete and utter tool. I also enjoyed some of the big fights like thor verse galactus. So there's some funny moments, badass moments, and overall good pacing. There's also a little too much banter at times, too much of the same time story and none of it matters thing going on, and the art can be really bad at points. Romita are works for me on small scale but not so much here.
Overall pretty fun. Nothing magical like his first volume of New Avengers back in 2005 but it works. A 3 out of 5.
