This one surprised me because haven't enjoyed much of recent Robinson's writing but this was pretty fun.
So Darkseid became a little baby in Metal event. Now he's a kid thanks to his daughter going around zapping the life out of old gods to give to him. On the other side of things we have wonder woman meeting her long lost brother. If that's not enough plotlines we have a new/old face pop up at the end to show themselves. Oh yeah, and the return of something very evil.
Overall, a big ass long ass fight that actually stays pretty entertaining. The art is a huge boost, the dialogue is strong enough to keep me entertained, and pacing is well done. Some scenes feel a bit cut short or just not there. Also, nothing unpredictable happens. The foreshadowing is TOO obvious. Saying that, this wasn't bad. A 3.5 out of 5.

Now that the brothers are all together they begin their training while we learn of master splinters past.
It's actually a darker tale than I expected but well told. The reincarnation angle is pretty new, and interesting. I also enjoyed the funnier moments with Casey and April. The fights remain a highlight as the art feels right at home here. The villain is a little TOO monologue and boring at times though. Still, a blast, a 4 out of 5.

So funny enough I read this the same day Mark Millar blocked me on twitter (Funny story too if want to hear about it!)
So Mark Millar decided to take the name Kick-ass and recreate a new superhero story. It has really nothing to do with the old characters. In fact the story has very little resemblance to the last few kick-ass stories. This is a darker tale than before, which can be hard to believe. Less on humor and more on action and drama.
Patience is going around kicking the shit out of bad guys and stealing their money. She's actually ex-military so she has some badass fighting moves. It kind of takes away from the "everyday person fighting crime" she's basically a spy/agent in a superhero suit. We've seen that million times. Also, the ending is really far-fetched and very breaking bad without the build up.
Overall though, it wasn't bad. Art is solid enough, the fights are entertaining, some funny lines once in awhile, and decent family drama. It's over the top and not as good as the original though. A 3 out of 5.

Well shame this ended so soon since it's pretty fun.
This one went a little weirder than the last volume. We go into the weirdworld afterall. There, we have Clayton (weapon H) lead his team of supernatural fighters like Man Thing and Korg to fight the evils. Special cameos of Captain America and Black widow. The villains here are kind of lame, a big powerful magic wielder who does nothing we haven't seen before. Also, the art can feel a bit stiff. I still enjoy the cast a lot though and Clayton is a pretty cool dude. I hope he gets put into a new series.

This was a super quick read, but still fun as always.
Let's talk about the art first. Realistic yet supernatural enough. No one really draws characters quite so badass and sexy at once. There's a shower scene that just begs to be in a rated R comic lol.
Okay onto the story. Sara gets into a new case when mutilated bodies start to show up. At the same time you have that annoying reporter trying to find out more about the Witchblade. As if demons and creatures aren't already enough for Sara to handle. On top of that, Dani's dealing with both domestic abuse and maybe lesbian or Bi feelings? We don't know.
Listen, Witchblade isn't high end stuff but it remains fun. Ron got a good grip on fun dialogue with fun stories to back it. The art great even if it feels a little fan service at times. Overall, good stuff. A 3.5 out of 5.

I can't believe the comics of power rangers have been so good that made my 30 year old self like them again haha.
So this one is a more down to earth version of the power rangers. While Mighty Morphin series is over the top zanny fun this is more about the personal life of each ranger. With Billy learning to deal with being bullied, the Jason trying to help kids, to Kimberly trying to deal with her love life, and so much more, you get to really feel for these kids. On top of that the threat is interesting, and not just some big loud monster. It's building to something different.
Listen, it's not reinventing the wheel and still has corny parts but it's so damn fun and well written I can't help but like it. Go Go Power Rangers is a blast, a 4 out of 5.

Wonder Woman, Volume 6: Bones
Brian Azzarello, Cliff Chiang, Matthew Wilson, Jared K. Fletcher, Goran Sudžuka
The first born is now the king of hell.
Wonder woman is the queen of the amazons.
THE FIGHT BEGINS!!!
This is pretty badass finale. I wish it was a little better at the very end. The fights are good but feel a bit...rushed? I wanted to get more epic speeches and build up. Give me my superhero moments damn it! But the twist at the end, the world building, Diana growing as a person? All that is great. This was a damn fine run, and easily Azzarello best written story I've read so far.
As a run it's a easy 4 out of 5. This one is also a 4 out of 5. Great job Azzarello!

I just can't seem to get into Coates black panther. This one was pretty boring. Basically about some gods or something but it was so boring I couldn't even really get through more than half. It's not that Coates is a bad writer, I LOVE his Captain America, but his storylines for Black Panther have not been interesting. I am excited to try the one in space cause looks fun. This is meh. 2 out of 5.
The return of the Shredder!!!!
So poor Splinter was kidnapped by that pesky evil cat-human hybrid. The turtles tell April who they are and she agrees to let them crash at her place. They don't stay long as they need to find their father. At the same time we got the Foot Ninjas in action here as they kidnap Splinter FROM the other bad guy. The showdown of Splinter verse the foot clan and eventually Shredder begins!
This is probably one of the most action-packed comics of Ninja turtles I read. This is where I stopped reading originally first time (Not because didn't like it, just didn't have enough money then to buy more) and damn this is fun. The turtles teaming up and doing kickass moves, shredder fighting, fucking SPLINTER kicking butt. All of it is great.
The subplot with the other gang of teenagers cleaning up the streets was just okay.
Overall, good stuff. This series is light and fun, just like I like it. I can't wait to read more! A 4 out of 5.

Witchblade ends it's run (in a way) here with the Witchblade war!
So before "Witchblade Redemption" begins, which I guess is like the "relaunch" it had at the time, we finish this run with Witchblade war. Now that both Sarah and Dani are at each other's necks the fight for who keeps the witchblade in all begins. It's one big long fight scene, both hell and heaven soldiers come down, new creatures rise, and old die, and it begins a new status quo.
This was pretty entertaining. The art is VERY good and some beautiful shots of fights, near sex scenes, and brutal deaths. These are all well done. As always Ron has a good grasp of the characters and everyone has a distinct voice. This pacing was nice as it was one big shot to the end of the war.
The villains come off nothing more than meh though. They've been the big disappointment in this series.
Overall pretty fun but not great. A 3.5 out of 5.
