This was a nice surprise, pretty good and lets you see Tony's side of things in a better light than the main event.

The first portion is Cap and iron man talking man to man. Just trying to understand where they came from, there times as friends, and then why they are doing this fight and if it's for the right reasons. The middle part is the regular iron man issues, which probably fit better if reading the entire run. Last but not least is the capture of Captain America and also Tony's final farewell as he says goodbye to the body of Captain America.

Good: The final speech is a big highlight. Written extremely well and tugs on the heartstrings. The start is also really strong, giving us nice insight to the best friends who used to be and the pride that morals that broke them up. The art stays pretty good throughout.

Bad: THe middle isn't bad, it's well written, but lacks the content of the run to give the emotional moments some strong feelings.

Overall, a nice little side companion book. A 3 out of 5, maybe even a 3.5.

I can understand some of the frustration of this series for people. It's moving slowly through the main plot, only giving small answers here and there to some of the questions you have.

On the flipside the art is still amazing and the personal demons of each character being exposed is great. As a huge Wally fan I'm loving the inner workings of Wally's depression and thinking. People always take the "happy go lucky" face he puts on but deep inside it must be tearing him apart to know what happened to his family. Watching him break at points is sad but a nice step into character growth.

The series continues to be interesting, least for me, and love to see the different interviews and thoughts of characters. The main plot needs a boost to push forward, but this series was never really about that. A 3 out of 5.

The Green Latern Corps is about to be infected with the Black Rings and shit is about to go down.

Like it's big brother series, the main Green Lantern series, the black rings are on the loose. Traveling the galaxy bringing back the dead to fuck with the living. Kyle, Guy, and the rest of the Green Lanterns now have to face the dead which consist of their friends, lovers, and family. If that's not bad enough someone in the crew goes Red and becomes a angry little beast. This action packed volume does not disappoint.

Good: Really loved the hell out of the pacing. High end action with tons of great character growth moments and fights to help boost it. The art is fantastic and showcases big battles and emotional moments alike. The death of someone is both emotional and powerful, and even the after effects of it are badass. The last great things I have to mention is the dialogue, very well done.

Bad: Feels slightly disjointed at moments, especially if haven't read any of the main series.

A very high 4 out of 5. High end action with great character moments, what we want in comics.

This is the last volume right for Blackest Night. Things are about to go down!

This is a big volume. Starting from just a regular hang out with a bunch of lanterns helping each other build and paint things to finding out Natu's true past, to learning the Guardians new ways of dealing with their foes, to the build up of the blackest night, and even some goodbyes to characters that we got to know and love in this series.

Good: It's fast paced and a lot of twist and turns to our favorite heroes. The return of some villains, even though some are dealing with even worse villains. The Glooming Blackest Night moments are creeping up. The fights are big and epic and the deaths actually feel like they matter. Kyle and Guy's growth is great.

Bad: The exposition dumps here and there can be annoying. Especially since they cover stuff I read in the regular green lantern side of things. I also think, while finding out who Natu was, the background was kind of shoved in.

Overall, pretty great. Sure, some issues here and there, but the fun is to be had. Obviously Tomasi loves these characters, and for that, he's writing them really good. Helps the art is kickass too. A 3.5 out of 5, pushing it to a 4.

Yeah this is where I drop the series (For the third and final time)

The thing is I like the idea a lot. I like the art. It's got this cold and wicked mystery feeling going on. I hate everything else. Like how everyone talks SO much, or how each character seems to do something so stupid, or how each character is kind of a piece of shit, or how the mystery is 4 volumes now and nothing really solved. I just...find it boring. So yeah, can't get behind this anymore.

I just don't really like Booster. He seems too stupid for me but this was well written enough and art solid enough I can't give it lower than 3. I started to phase out on most of the reading. It's really convoluted at times, as is most time traveling, and I had no interest in seeing them try to save the world and bring back the gang again. I will admit though the last few pages were great. Overall, good, but not really for me as I hate the main character most of the time haha.

You Smell That?

That's this pile of shit.

Crazy part is I enjoy most of Soule's stuff. This reeeeeeeeks editorial interference like no other.

Marvel: Know what would be cool?
Soule: Hm?
Marvel: Kill off Wolverine.
Soule: You mean the guy who nearly can't BE kill?
Marvel: YES!
Soule: Why?
Marvel: BECAUSE IT'S BIG NEWS.
Soule: But...how?
Marvel: I dunno. Who cares? Let's sell it!

That's what this is. Throwing four separate issues that somewhat contact but have no heart, emotion, or ANYTHING to give us a reason WHY we should care about Wolverine dying. The art is solid enough but really gives us no memorable moments to engrave in my mind. Don't even get me started on the last issue and the results of his death.

Anyone see Dragon Ball Z? They had this movie called Bio-Broly and it is the ONLY thing I could think of when seeing the last few pages of this terrible piece of shit cash grab.

Yeah fuck this book. One of the worst things I've read in awhile.

Ah, a much better Logan tale than the last.

This is the final volume in the long running old man logan series. Of course we have "Death of Old Man Logan" Which I'm hoping is good. This is close to a ending as we'll get for the series though, but does it hold up? Let's find out.

Logan goes on a mission with his old friends from Canada. He has to handle a tentical looking monster because...well why not! Next up after is him facing off one last time against the hulk from his timeline. The big bastard has taking a town over and Logan plans on finishing this once and for all. However, with his weaken state, he might have some trouble with that.

Good: The art is pretty solid as always. I really liked the fights, especially with the hulk. Brutal is for sure here. I also thought Logan saying goodbye to his old pals while also doing what he does best, saving those who needs it, is the way Logan has always been. The pacing is a bit rushed but it actually helps this from ever being boring.

Bad: Hulk villain doesn't seem very scary here. Also, the monster they fight before hand is kind of silly. I also think it feels rushed a bit, not getting the full emotion of a dying Logan.

Overall, a solid ending. Not remarkable or anything but like most of Brisson run on Old Man Logan it stayed pretty entertaining throughout. A 3 out of 5.

The first FF volume was super well done, and while 2 is bigger and more explosive, it loses some of the charm the first volume had.

This one we see a lot of the Inhumans. You know, that crazy bunch who nobody seems to like but Marvel pushed for years to get into the spotlight. So yeah, they arrive to help (?) Reed stop the evil Reeds. At the same time we get a somewhat conclusion for Doom here and his mission. We see that Reed's pops isn't maybe telling the whole truth. We see our Reed finally come ask for help from the friends he knows and loves. And last but not least, we get Sue being a badass mother.

Good: I enjoyed the smaller, quiet moments. I especially liked Sue in this, and Reed finally admitting he needs help, and Spider-man even has a few great lines. I also thought Hickman obviously LOVES Blackbolt because he does this character justice. There's two amazing moments, one a fight, one a stance, and it's great. Last but not least Doom is pretty great in this series.

Bad: This epic feeling of a conclusion to the last arc felt missing here. Nothing surprising really happened, which is a surprise in itself. The plot grows deeper and tus this feels a lot like a bridge chapter.

Overall, still good. The art is great, the pacing is solid, there's some touching moments, but this didn't blow me away like the last two volumes. Still good though, a 3 out of 5.

Really enjoying my time in the Green lantern universe. There's some misses but for the most part, it ranges from good to great. This isn't on the highest level but it's still pretty dang fun.

So this is about the Alpha Lanterns. They were created to be super charged, super strong, emotionless fighter. However, when they begin to take over regular lanterns, things get pretty fucked up for our crew. However, we find out someone mysterious is behind it all! You may have guessed it as he's been a thorn in the Corps side for a long time. That's right, Cyborg Superman has returned and he wants something new this time.

Good: The art remains very positive. Colorful and bright with some excellent fighting panels here. I also thought Kyle and Natu relationship seems real and very well done. The putting the pieces back together and trying to fix the broken theme is really good here too. I liked even John here, who I usually find boring.

Bad: The twist and turns are predictable. It plays it safe, never trying something to big. I also think the pacing can go really fast and fun to really slow and heavy exposition. Which is just a problem with most green lantern stories it seems.

Overall, pretty solid fun adventure. I liked the story here, the themes, but nothing blew me away. Still worth reading if you are a fan of the Lanterns though! A 3 out of 5.
