This volume is stronger than the last but still lacking what made Tokyo Ghoul so interesting. This one gives us more focus on the team we're sticking with and learning who they are. We also get a villain to hunt down, the Nutcracker, who, you guessed it, cracks nuts. It's pretty disturbing. I thought the 2nd half picked up big time, a lot of crazy moments, and a cool fight scenes. This series is still lacking the exciting pacing and interesting themes of the original series but least it's getting better as it goes. A 3 out of 5.
A cute little book but not written for me. It's for the elementary age group or maybe teen, and it's pretty fun but I kind of got bored. Like Ms. Marvel or Squirrel girl I understand their appeal and think it's great for the targeting demographic but just not me. Still, a solid fun story is a solid story, 3 out of 5.
Ultimate Comics Thor: Premiere Edition
Dexter Vines, Carlos Pacheco, Jonathan Hickman, Jonathan Hickman
Fun little origin story for the god himself.
SO if you read Ultimates you're kind of like "Oh we know how Thor became who he is" but really you don't. Was he really a god? This book answers that. We also see the betrayal of Loki and the fall of Asgard. While nothing groundbreaking it was nice to see how it all came together and can see the differences with this Thor and the 616 thor.
Overall a solid little origin story with good art. Nothing mindblowing but a easy 3 out of 5.

Gwenpool, the Unbelievable, Vol. 3: Totally in Continuity
Gurihiru, Alti Firmansyah, Christopher Hastings, Myisha Haynes
Gwenpool remains extremely entertaining.
I really liked this volume because it throws all the rules out and goes full Meta, even more so than the past. This time we have a lot of special guest. The biggest story here is Gwenpool going into a cave that becomes a RPG style DnD style game. Who's the main boss though? None other than the vicious DEADPOOL. And Gwenpool has met her match because she doesn't read Deadpool!
Good: Loved the dialog between Gwenpool and Deadpool, made me laugh so much. I love the side characters in here a lot. The 2nd story is just as crazy and dumb with Hawkeye and Ghost rider coming into the adventures of Gwenpool and worked well.
Bad: The christmas special was really meh and not needed in this collection. I also thought some of the art suffered in this volume, especially the 2nd half.
Overall this is a lot of fun. It's not mindblowing or anything but if you want to sit back and laugh, Gwenpool will do that. A 3.5 out of 5.

Batman: Detective Comics, Vol. 7: Batmen Eternal
Javier Fernandez, Eddy Barrows, Eddy Barrows (Illustrator), Alvaro Martinez, James Tynion IV
This was a goodbye to James Tynion (as far as I know) for Detective comics. Does it wrap up well?
This, once more, deals with multiple character storylines. You have Tim dealing with his worrying-self, you have Bruce dealing with the fallout of Bat-woman, and you have Cass trying to find herself and understand what she's doing. This is the end of the Batmen (and women) but they won't go out with a whimper as the future comes to strike them!
Good: I really like character moments here. The highlights being Bruce and Tim, Bruce and the bat family, Cas and Barbara, and many more great character moments. I also thought the ending set up nice things to come.
Bad: I thought the plot was kind of all over the place, hard to grasp or understand, and almost aimless at times. I didn't really care about future stuff and what was happening to Tim was just...weird.
Overall this was still really fun and a good finish, especially last few pages. It didn't blow me away like the last two volumes but overall James's run on Detective should be read. It's great! Check it out. This is a 3.5 out of 5.

Not a huge Andy Diggle fan (Nothing against him, he seems awesome, just don't love a lot of his work.) but this was pretty fun!
So this is the origins of Green Arrow. Oh, you don't know it? It's almost as famous as Batman or Spider-man at this point. Especially since Arrow became a hit. A lot of what Arrow does is taken from this comic actually. So Oliver is a rich prick who plays to much in life. What happens? His best buddy backstabs him, throws him in the ocean to die, and then he ends up on a island. He has to learn to survive, becoming the Green Arrow in the process, and then of course meets his friend again but not in the way you'd expect.
Good: The art is pretty great, with some awesome fight scenes and badass posses. I also thought Oliver's internal monolog was pretty fun. You can tell he's a conflicted guy sometimes but he a liberal tree huger no matter what.
Bad: The storyline isn't epic or brand new, everything you expect happens happens, and the pacing can be a little slow int he middle.
Overall a perfect book for people who haven't read many Green Arrow stories. It's actually solid no matter what, but can't help but feel like been here before. Still, good stuff, solid 3.5, I'll bump it to a 4 just because I think it's worth reading for any fan of the green arrow himself.

This was pretty fun, if not a bit confusing.
So this old dude is just living his life, drinking with his buddies, and enjoying the boring life. Really though? He's actually a superhero. He's learned he can bec. ome a young man once more by changing into Captain Kid! However, when a woman comes from the future to warn him of troubles the story starts to go all directions into a lot of people in trouble.
Good: The dialog is actually pretty fun. I like how realistic people talked and how easy you got used to everyone. I also thought Captain Kid was a pretty interesting character and the woman from the future was pretty great.
Bad: The art is kind of meh. Feels like it's lacking a ton of detail at times. I also thought the story was jumping ALL over the place and was hard to keep up with. The ending also left a lot to be desired.
Overall it's pretty dang solid. Not amazing but fun none the less. I don't think they'll be more so guess this is the end, decent one shot graphic novel. A 2.5-3 out of 5.

Overall was going pretty good till half way through.
So it starts off decent enough. Waller is trying to create a Justice League to be the face of America. To protect people in a public way instead of having the Justice League, all these gods, do what they please. So they go on a mission together and all come together like any team book. However, by the second half we get a bunch of crossover issues of Trinity War. Just why? WHY!?
Good: The start is solid enough. Fun storylines, fun dialog, good pacing. Everything is working to make a fun team book. Also the art is pretty damn good.
Bad: Then trinity war comes in and ruins the whole second half. Like almost unreadable. Especially since it's confusing and missing key issues. Fuck this garbo.
SO yeah, first is a 3 out of 5, last is a 1 out of 5 so...2 out of 5.

This was pretty awful.
So what happens when a guy wishes he was irresistible? That every women would fall for him. More than that, that they would basically become sex slaves for him. What if that guy just didn't want that but wanted the "love" of his life back. What happens when the women start coming after him with violent tendicies because they just have to have him? What...okay stop asking what and ask why was this made.
Good: The start is actually pretty interesting and the idea could work...
Bad: ...but it doesn't. The characters are all crappy, especially the main lead. The story gets darker and darker but without any substance to make you care. The art varies from okay to getting really good for tit or ass shots, and then back to bad. Also the ending...dumb.
Overall, a pretty shitty comic. If want to read it to get some boob or ass shots go for it, but can see better on any porn site for cartoon/comic boobs. This is basically a 1 out of 5 if I ever saw it.

Spike goes to space because...why not!
Spike now has a bunch of bug like creatures following him around as he goes off to Space. When he lands on Mars (or something similar) he decides to live there. However, the bugs won't let him become too depressed and tell him to get up! Then demons/aliens attack and off we are to a new adventure.
Good: The art is solid, the bug army is entertaining, and Spike is funny as usual.
Bad: The story is just...there. The villains are weak. The love interest is boring.
Overall this was fun passable stuff but nothing worth really recommending. Maybe if want to read everything in Buffy it's worth it but not special. A 2.5 out of 5.
