This was fine. I'm not going to make a long review out of it. I like Joshua Williamson for the most part, he does some really solid work, this was just afterthought for me though. Basically Robocop and the police are trying to rid the guns off the streets of Detroit. In doing so someone finds this as a chance to start a war.

Nothing really interesting happens. It feels like Robocop but it doesn't have the heart of it (if that make sense) it's also very short, though that might be a good thing. A 2.5 out of 5.

Uhhh whoa...what?...The...fuck...shit...

Those were my reactions throughout the entire time reading this. Redlands is a horror comic about redneck place in Florida being ran by three witches who aren't going to take shit from anyone. Right away they murderer a bunch of racist cops and decide to take over the town of Redland. Then we get into a political thriller, mystery, and witchy witch magic shit that is both intriguing and batshit insane.

Good: So I really enjoyed the pacing. One thing I will say is it is NEVER boring. I also think the dialog alot of the time is pretty fun. Sure, very very racist and sexist but that's a huge selling point to the series. Also some of the twist, the gore, the fights, all pretty well done and kind of scary.

Bad: While most of the dialog is entertaining some of it feels very forced. Also the story is jumbled at times, a bit confusing. And last but not least I was not a huge fan of the art. Sometimes it's great, with effects of fire and such, other times people look squashed and really fucking odd.

Overall I enjoyed it enough to want more. It's not perfect, it stumbles at parts, but it's still entertaining as hell. I'll give it another go! A 3 out of 5.

I actually met Joe Pruett at the Daytona Comic Con. Super nice dude, I bought bunch of Aftershock graphic novels from him, so expect more reviews coming soon. So what did I think of HIS Comic?

This is basically children of the corn but a little bit more sci-fi. These kids begin to turn on the town they live in one by one. It's almost like a cult is forming, except instead of it feeling like a religious brand converting everyone's eyes turn pure black and start killing people. It's a slow, and creepy, build to something larger that isn't quite made clear just yet.

Good: I liked most of the art. Everything flowed well enough and easy to understand. I also liked how fast paced it become at points, and that nobody feel felt safe. I also enjoyed the mystery behind it all and eager to know what comes next.

Bad: I felt some of the dialog wasn't hitting the marks it wanted. I didn't get a sense of a main character or someone to root for (yet) and I thought the art worked for most part but was often too dark to understand at points.

Overall this is a mix bag. I didn't love it, but didn't dislike it, so it goes around a 2.5 for me. I'll bump it up to a 3 just because I enjoyed the setting and idea behind it and hoping volume 2 expands that.

Didn't like this one much at all. After issue 1 it got too crazy for me, and little to care about ANY characters, and not in love with the art.

Venomverse is a huge pile of nothing. Just nothing. Like why was this made?

So edge of venomverse atleast had various stories that kept it flowing a bit. We get different writers putting their characters in the venom suit. Sure it didn't all connect but least was a decent idea. This? Well this is just one big brawl between a whole shit load of venom users verse the anti-venom users. It's fight after fighter, chase after chase, and you just don't feel ANYTHING bad is REALLY going to happen. Not to mention Eddie Brock as venom is boring...give me Flash.

Good: Some decent art?

Bad: The plot is dumb as shit. Carnage's dialog is beyond awful. The stakes, if you want to call it that, are hardly there. The pacing is really bad, just chase chase, fight, chase, fight, and then it's over...that's it.

Overall this is a very skippable title. I wouldn't give this one any of your time. A 1 out of 5.

So as I'm reading Hickman's Avengers run I keep hearing I have to read his Fantastic Four to really enjoy Secret Wars. So...here we go!

Reed is a genius. Everyone knows this. When he begins to meet other versions of himself, all to save the multiverse, it all becomes about saving the entire universe/world/multiple worlds. However, it would come at a price to fix everything. We also have a little side story here where The Thing is down, and Johnny decides to travel to a new world as a vacation to get the big rock friend out of the gutter...but you know things aren't going to go well.

Good: The art is solid throughout, some very good colors, and interesting character designs. I loved the hell out of the family Dynamic. Anything with the kids and any family member stuff is great. I also thought it was interesting to see inside Reed's mindset in this one. Also Sue is awesome.

Bad: The JOhnny and Ben stuff was a little loopy and not that interesting. I also have a hard time caring TOO much about the multiverse stuff despite it being well written.

Overall this was good, almost great even. I'd go with a 3.5 out of 5 but I'm having a feeling this series will become better and better.

This was a lot...

So the world...no the universe, is coming to a end. Everything we know dies. This is truth. This is fact. However, it's all coming too fast and our heroes are trying to stop it. So you know what happened before this, new teams are created. Biggest being Namor going to Thanos and his crew to stop the end of times. However, them going world to world killing everyone isn't doing people favors. IN fact the avengers work together for once, after the New Avengers/Avengers fought and come together to stop them. But what about the other 16 plotlines all happening at once?

Good: I loved the art for most part. Almost every issue is wonderful to look at. I also enjoyed some of the major plotlines like Cap/Iron-man/Thor/Cannonball and a few more. I thought the way they all were coming together was pretty dang interesting.

Bad: It's a lot. Almost TOO much to keep up with. Some plotlines are also less interesting (1616 earth storyline) and kind of hurts the pacing of the entire graphic novel which is very large to begin with. It also ends on a major cliffhanger, which is awesome for Secret Wars, but I can see some people being pissed.

Overall this was probably a little too overstuffed for my taste. I loved some parts, but some parts were a complete bore. So I'll hit it with a solid 3 out of 5, I still think it's worth reading, and while not as strong as Hickman's other Avengers/New Avengers stuff it's still solid as always.

This is the first "Complete Collection" I'm reading for New Avengers since it's cheaper to buy these then buy the single hardcovers. So here we go!

A lot and a lot of secret invasion stuff. So much in fact you'll probably be completely lost without reading the SI crossover event with the rest of the marvel universe. In here we mostly get backstories of key New Avengers and how they became skrull and such. Also you have the Dark Reign storyline coming into play when Norman Osborn becomes the leader of Avengers and president. Last but not least we get a Doctor Strange storyline where he is not the Sorcerer Supreme and now he must find a new one, but not without the help of the Avengers.

Good: The best bits of this book are the small indepdent stories really. Stuff like Luke Cage and Jessica JOnes on their first "Date" and also Peter showing who he is to everyone, and even some of the skrull stuff like what happen to Spider-woman.

Bad: The skrull stuff is spread out so far, and you need to read so much inbetween, you'll probably be lost on what the fuck is happening. I read the event about two years ago and I'm still confused. I also thought the Doctor Strange stuff, despite loving the art, was okay.

This was a mix match of fun times, good times, and sometimes confusing and boring times. Overall a solid collection but nothing mindblowing. You can tell Bendis is losing steam here.

Let down. Dan Jurgens had been giving life into his action comics since the start. Getting better and better. However, this final volume was a BIG let down.

This is just a what if story really. What if Superman can stop the destruction of his home? Like this hasn't been done a million times before? And Booster Gold is a fun character at times but having him for every issue, and Dan not writing him in my favorite way, this was a let down.

Good: The art was pretty solid and the very very ending was sweet.

Bad: Everything else was a bore, we knew there were no stakes, and nothing feels epic like the previous volumes.

Overall a let down in a BIG way. I still recommend Dan's Action Comics run but this is a weak part of it. A 1.5-2 out of 5.

The attack is on!

Okay that was bad.

Anyway...The titans are attacking. Everyone is dying. As we know in the final pages of the last volume some major deaths occur. Then there's the new titan who shows up and we get to see some titan on titan action. No, not like sex, but they kill each other. Then we also get to see Mikasa backstory and why she is like she is. Heartbreaking and sad but powerful.

Good: Love the art still. Clear and easy to see and read. I think this volume is dreadful but always interesting, and even seeing everyone die is both exciting and sad. The end is also filled with "holy shit" moments.

Bad: Some people might feel this series is too dark during this time.

Overall great. Fantastic. It really is what made me such a big fan of the series. I love when the heroes always have their odds stacked against them. A 4.5 out of 5.
