Why did this male white author think it necessary to have an unnecessary flashback which included telling a joke that used the n-word. I had to rewind to make sure i heard correctly. Sure enough it is right there in written form and on the audio. The flashback that this was a part of never resurfaces or has relevance to the story.
I feel like there's no way I read the same story that all these people rated five stars. 

I was nervous going into this, as it is 600+ pages long, but I had a great time listening to it and the ebook. Surprises, banter, growth, laughter, spice🥵, etc.- this book had some of everything. It kept me engaged the whole time. I feel like I just listened to and read a season of a TV show.  

I finished the book....
