How you gon do me like that in only 20 pages??

This was a fast-paced, heart-pounding ride that blends action, suspense, and emotional stakes. The tension is high as Cole and Lisa Shipley flee to protect their daughter, uncovering shocking truths along the way. The “family first” theme drives every decision, but Jade can be a frustrating character at times, making choices that put herself and her family at risk. With relentless pursuit, unexpected twists, and a compelling character in Burns, this popcorn crime thriller delivers. Bonus points for the Austin, TX🤘🏾 connections! A must-read for fans of fugitives-on-the-run thrillers.

Tanika “Nikki” Ryan is a sports reporter who has built her career through grit and talent, only to watch it slip away when her vision starts to fail. Enter Gideon Miles, a widowed optometrist with his own struggles. When a mysterious pair of glasses finds its way into Nikki’s life, her perspective—on everything—shifts, leading to a journey of self-discovery, love, and second chances.

This book has everything—Tanika and her dynamic Boss Chick Village, the rodeo, the stock car racing references (which I loved!), laughter, tears, grief, and some unexpected magic. The chemistry between Nikki and Gideon is undeniable, and when the slow burn finally ignites? Whew! 🔥 The spice is real, but so is the depth of emotion, especially as both characters navigate personal challenges. Gideon’s grief was palpable, and honestly, therapy might’ve helped him process things more effectively. The third-act miscommunication trope wasn’t my favorite, but it didn’t overshadow the joy of watching these two find their way to each other.

If you love romance with mature, well-established characters who have lived, lost and are ready to love again, this is the book for you.
