I saw the film in the Easter holidays last year, but I've only recently read it.
The differences between the film and book are outstanding, for example in the film s*x is taboo while the book revolves around it. It's about this girl called B, who is matter of factly the unattractive one out of her friends - the duff. And the hunkiest, yummiest boy in her year tells her this.
This deals with a lot more than the film, this deals with family problems, self esteem and how to deal with it (good or bad) and just has so many themes which the films didnt portray. I understand why they didn't include it, because it wouldn't of been suitable and sent the wrong message out to impressionable girls.
But in this case the book is better.

This book broke me. But it's good. Heartbreakingly good.

This tells the story of violet and finch who meet on a bell tower at school contemplating to throw themselves off of it.

The reason I got so emotional at the ending because as violet fell in love with finch so did I, making it all the worse. But despite the ending I am happy with it, at first I wasn't because of the fact of how finch died but after reading over the ending it ended nicely. Because finch wasn't meant for this world, and since his family did nothing to help him let alone NOTICE I think it's fitting that he died the way he wanted: essentially in a black hole. I will still be in love with finch because if you've read this, who wouldn't be?

This book has made me laugh, made me cry and groan in frustration countless times.
It made me cry but not sad because it ended (sorta happy) but oh my. The humour in this is extravagant and the plot - I can't wait to see the film tbh.

Please read it now

I've been a fan of Dana Burkey for a while and was excited for this audio book, and I quite enjoyed it.
At first I found it a bit hard to get into despite the interesting plot involving Chernobyl. However towards the end of the book I wanted to listen to more and more (due to the action and answers) so that hooked me.
*i guessed out something about a character before it would told I was very proud*. Honestly I preferred her romance trilogy, but maybe because I first read that and loved it and anything since cant meet that high first book. When I did get into this book I enjoyed it thoroughly
But yes I would recommend it if you like fiction intertwined with history. Thank you for the chance to listen to it!
