I remember loving this when I first read it - however, this time around I can't help but notice its problems...
I love Jean Webster's writing style, her characters and stories, it's such a joy to experience her works. She was really quite forward thinking and I absolutely adore her mind and whatever she puts into her characters' mouth becomes gold. Only thing - major thing, unfortunately - is the relationship in here...
getting a barely 18 y.o. sheltered orphan girl for a bride seems like something DiCaprio would do...

I still prefer Dear Enemy or her Patty-books, I feel those are just as sweet and funny, even if they happen to have minor flaws.

Cute witchy story, perfect for autumn. Didn't expect much of a banger, still quite a nice read. Not a lot of words said about mooncakes tho, lol.

Not very original but kinda cute. Unfortunately, won't be finished as far as I know.

Wasn't familiar with this story prior to reading the book, I've found it quite enjoyable, albeit with an unrealistically happy ending. But hey, I'll take it. (Watched the movie afterwards, definitely preferred the book over it. I hate musicals so much...)

So far the series have been decent but this volume...
actual rape happens...and it's taken for a joke because it happens to a man...what the actual fuck
adventurous funny lighthearted mysterious reflective

Absolutely nothing original in this book but BOI was it a fun ride!!!

Too much sexualisation of children, don't think I'll continue with this series.
