its a great book almost completely RUINED by the insta love with mc and chase absolutely awful
why are authors obsessed with putting unnecessary shitty insta love in every fucking book? if someone wants romance, they should read a romance book. god i fucking hate dog shit romance
anyway.... i do like the rest of it though. i love horror where nature is Wrong. the corpse trees are great, the balete trees in real life are super cool to look at.

Hemslock was boringly evil. i liked at the beginning he seemed somewhat normal with some controversy, i was expecting the accusations to prove true, but it was boring how aggressively Bad Guy he became

a guy gets infected by the slime and despite the extreme pain in his stomach he and his wife fuck and at first i thought ok maybe its a way for him to infect her with the slime venom except the wife chara never appears ever again lol

honestly didnt hate it as much as i thought i would, but by god there is so much filler. the abridged version of this book would be 500 pages
i mean, near the end, John Galt goes on a speech thats, and im not exaggerating, about 70+ pages long. buddy. i dont care what revolution or rebellion youre starting, you dont need an 80 page speech. not to mention, you got the point across in the first like, 10 pages. it was repetition horribly done. he keeps using different examples to say the exact same fucking thing. SHUT UP!!!! WE GOT IT IN THE FIRST 30 MINUTES!!! 
oh yeah. why was Dagny in a love PENTAGON LMAO. Francisco, Henry, John Galt??? whose entire romance is built on him STALKING HER!? and then Eddie is revealed to have been in love with her the whole time at the end? wtf lmao ive read less crazy love triangles in shitty YA. and theres something to be said the way shes constantly seen as something to fuck. i mean hank literally says that...
i thought the beginning was good to be honest, but once you get to part 2, about 30% in, it escalates badly
theres no nuance, the good characters can only do good things and the bad characters can only do bad things. havent you heard of sympathetic villains!?

suffers pretty horribly from male author syndrome. every male character that isnt a main character is disgusting and a rapist
i mean by chapter 19, the main chara happened on two people fucking a second time. is it supposed to be teehee haha? the second time, it felt like it was a rape, since the girl in question was not enjoying it and had a look of alarm on her face?

its so boring (and insensitive) to make the bad guy a rapist.  the look this guy is the bad guy, hes a rapist! like i can see he was bad with what he wanted to build, what with taking over the world with those items

the writing is kind of dog shit.

why does Clef speak so modernly seeing as he was trapped "in a dark place" for apparently a thousand years? its very jarring, he speaks the exact same as sancia does. in fact, it felt like he was supposed to be a bit of the funny comedy relief character but just his language didnt make sense to me

qin zheng literally gets stabbed in the fucking heart and doesnt die lol. i hate this shit where theres no stakes, everyone and survive anything

the male love interest is such a fucking asshole its kind of insane. the end where

the mc is depressed cause nobody cared about her game and then he cheats on the competition on her OWN GAME to beat her and then saying "well technically cheating isnt against the rules" and i'm supposed to like this guy? actually fucking insane

filler is a mega problem in this one (as with the others). i ended up just completely skipping roran chapters because it was completely useless information
and also the thing where eragon cannot get hurt... he just casts immunity spells and is invincible lol
