This was a pretty bizarre tale and right up my alley. I've read books like it before, with similar themes, pacing, and characters, so I really wasn't expecting ending to happen the way it did. I don't know if it was quite as good as similar books in it's catagory, but I enjoyed it none-the-less.

The artwork for this was gorgeous and I thought the aesthetic and visual direction was fantastic. While I did find the plot and characters interesting, I wish there was just more about the characters and how their stories all interacted with one another.

It was very light-hearted, which was nice. I wish it delved a little deeper into the conflict and characters, but, overall, it would be a decent read for someone much younger than me, like an elementary schooler?

I really wish I could say that I enjoyed this book, but unfortunately it just wasn't my thing. The prose was beautiful and I adored the premise. However, I found it too difficult to understand. It jumped around and had so many different character perspectives. While I appreciated that aspect and felt the stylistic choice worked in some ways, it made comprehension difficult.

This collection was pretty great. Some short stories were more interesting and complex than others, but all of them were well done.

There were parts of the book that I appreciated and other parts I felt were just so-so. The book did a great job at setting up a lot of interesting dynamics within the family but I couldn't help but feel unsatisfied at the ending. And perhaps the ending, left relatively unresolved (in my opinion), was impactful, in a way. Regardless, it just seemed to average out to just so-so.

It was just okay. I usually like her work and have been trying to get through all of her horror/horror-adjacent books. This particular book, however, didn't quite hit the spot for me and was a little to light-hearted than what I prefer. It just wasn't a good pick for me. I did like all the bug facts though.

I've been wanting to read this for a while, so I'm glad I finally got the chance. It was even better than I expected. Even though there were a few elements that I thought didn't land as successfully as the author intended, the majority of the book (like 95% of it) was well done. The characters were unique and distinctive and the choice to give each a section (and different amount of pages) to narrate was particularly effective.

These's something so wonderful about short stories and this collection was really just so well crafted. Despite following similar narrative patterns, each story possessed unique characters, situations, and stakes.

While I don't think the characters were particularly strongly written, I thought the plot, tension-building, and illustrations were effective in creating one of the best monster horror graphic novels I've ever read. Although, I admit I haven't read many. Regardless, I did enjoy this work of art quite a lot. And gosh, the illustrations and format can't be praised enough here-they were simply breath-taking.
