I felt everything in this book. This was the best book representing so many issues that it normalizes and validates them. I absolutely loved that our MMC, Jacob, had social anxiety. Just reading about his social anxiety was incredibly validating to my own. I loved that Briana didn't try to fix him and just molded herself into his world. Then vice versa, when it came time for Briana to trust Jacob. They were a perfect match for each other, it was so fun to watch them fall in love from beginning to end.
Ugh, I'm also a sucker for men who write love letters so the end got me.
All the characters were so loveable and I'm so glad we got to visit Wakan again.
This book..... Absolutely loved everything about this book. Abby Jimenez is one of those authors that after I read her books I think, "I could never write that but I'm so glad someone did in this beautiful way."

"Wouldn’t it be amazing to live like that? To not carry that burden around with you. To not feel constantly overwhelmed and overstimulated and second-guess every little thing."
"Silence was always my default response. Sometimes things are easier to understand when unsaid. Sometimes words complicate things and make them murky. "
" 'We’re all a little broken, Briana. We are a mosaic. We’re made up of all those we’ve met and all the things we’ve been through. There are parts of us that are colorful and dark and jagged and beautiful. And I love every piece of you. Even the ones you wish didn’t exist.' ”
"There’s a special peace in sleeping next to someone you love. When you slip into the dark holding them and wake up and they’re still there and you know that everything that matters is just opening your eyes away."

Very cute YA fake dating romance. Theater meets gamers, this was a fun clash of two worlds. I really enjoyed it.

This was a super cute, lighthearted, palette cleanser read. Who cares if it's a holiday read? It's Christmas in July! Children of rock stars reuniting after many years apart, trying to get a reunion set up...and many adventures in between. I was giggling at the Santa fight, those are always so funny to me.

Historical fiction is not one I turn to. I can count on my single hand how many historical fiction books I've read and the ones I have read have been fine. This one has changed my perspective on them. This was so incredibly well written, I'm so glad to have gotten out of my comfort zone to read this one. My heart was doing flips and breaking over and over but also just having so much pride for Frankie. I would consider reading another Kristen Hannah book as I really enjoyed this one surprisingly!

This was sooooo cute. It had so many good things. It reminded me vaguely of The Hating Game, I loved it just as much. It was sweet (literally), funny, swoony, anguishing when it needed to be, all around cute. This had great banter and lots of great baking. I loved everything about it.

“You’re staring at me again. You do that a lot.”
“Does it bother you?”
“No, it doesn’t. I stare at you too. I just have enough self control to do it when you’re not looking.”

A great end to the series! Great growth from Eadlyn and I loved those that were the elite and all the happy ever afters each of them got! Big fan of this series, I hate that it took me so long to read this series, but I absolutely loved it!

"Nothing makes you quite so aware of a person's presence as the loss of it."
"Focus less on what people say and more on what you can accomplish."
"Maybe it's not the first kiss that's supposed to be special. Maybe it's the last ones."

Oh my goshhhh this is the book that has made me go "why have I been sitting on this series for so long?!" Okay, I didn't like America the first 3 books but Eadlyn was worth the wait. I loved her sass and attitude and character. It was also great to see this side of the selection from Eadlyn's view, I think that's why I enjoyed her story more. Also how is it that I found so many of the guys in this book so much more loveable than a handful of guys off a season of the bachelorette...hah.

I know this was a novella but I didn't feel connected to the characters at all. Dialogue felt too thought out that it didn't feel natural. But the story was cute.
