This was actually a very raw and real depiction of someone struggling with their mental health as it declines & their journey to getting “better”.
I loved how chaotic and funny it was. It had ver strong my year of rest and relaxation vibes. And most importantly some of the most potent proses.
HOWEVER, main girl, Esther, was insanely rude, racist, misogynistic, fatphobic & high key egotistic.

This was such an engaging, fast-paced thriller. Could not put it down.
Crazy twists and turns, some more predictable than others.
Gave me water down gone girl vibes (in a good way).
Cannot say much without spoiling other than Ainsley and Peter are crazy psychos.

This is a quick read with strong commentary about those who don’t fit into society’s norm. How that can affect them & what they may do to feel “normal”.

The design in this comic is lovely. The contrast in color scheme for the stories, the artist type of drawings and the journal entries for Carter’s parts.
However, it could have done without Teresa and Ruben’s story — it felt like it took away from the plot more than anything. What I found fascinating and captivating was Carter’s archeological story and Teresa’s connection to it.
Thank you to Fantagraphic Books and NetGalley for this arc is exchange for a honest review.
