Having seen some of July's films this book felt very much in that realm. Moments spent with strangers that feel so crucial to who we are. I was reminded of moments driving where I wrote a sign for students in a bus or a driver in the car next to me offered me and my brother some of their fries as we happened to make eye contact at a stop light. This small moments can change the mood of a whole day, week, year, life.
Though there were many sexual moments, which for my asexual heart were a bit to much, some of these moments felt like the type of love I want. Interactions that our personal to me and my person. That can only be experienced by us. That is a deep love one that can not be forgotten or thrown away.

This book reminded me of How the Word is Passed which I recently finished. And this book even mentioned similar stories and experiences. It was interesting to see how two authors wrote about the same topic but through different locations and through a different lens. Both books taught me new information I didn't know and I highly recommend everyone read both.
The formatting of the ebook was annoying. I will likely try purchasing this book down the road and reading it that way rather than for a reading challenge.

I missed some of the start of this audio book trying to get used to the narrator but after I did this book was beautiful and an accepting story of what people will do for any form of connction.

Finally got through this one. I enjoyed a lot of it but got overwhelmed by the jargon. I listened to the audio book and didn't have access to the images which were constantly referenced. The author also constantly referenced his other books as if to sell them rather than just utilizing footnotes to say "more on this topic in my other books."
I do think we should find new methods for designing this that we all struggle using but it is unlikely I will see those changes in my life time.

I enjoyed the parts of this biography where Amy speaks on how the birds alow her to reflect on her life or the odd moments. Some bits of the book are just generic bird watching and though those were relaxing and lighthearted I did enjoy the more personal moments more.

This book took me a bit to get into. I have read Morrison before and I enjoy her writing style but this one I just couldn't get into the characters and got confused by the back and forth time line.
Once I hit the second section of the book I started to enjoy the story more, as the confusion was explain and we had some fun lyrical writing.
After just coming off of reading a non-fiction book about slavery it was interesting to read a story with characters depicting the heart breaking, devastating, and unethical experiences of slavery even after the Civil War.
