I really enjoyed this for the most part, and I'm a big fan of Homes' writing. It was a 4 star novel for the first half but it quickly ran out of steam which was a shame.
I'm really glad I didn't read this in public as this book made me uglycry - gasping for breath, face screwed up, snotty with cheeks drowning in tears. I wasn't expecting to like this book as much as I did, but the characters really drew me in and I found that I actually cared about what happened to them, even the supporting characters (which can be quite rare). Which is why it hit me so hard.
I knew what the outcome was going to be as soon as I got around half way through, but Moyes kept me guessing and there were times when I thought Will might change his mind and we'd end up with Louisa and Will living happily ever after. That ending might've reduced it to a 3/5 book. I liked that it was honest with Will's feelings.
This is going to be one of those things, like The Notebook and Up, where I will think of it randomly and just feel tears prickling behind my eyes.

This book had so much potential. I thought the subject matter was very interesting and for the first quarter or so it was great, but oh it got so boring so quickly. Not a lot seemed to happen, which is odd because obviously quite a lot was happening with the slowing and everything, it was just very boring and the attempts at little side stories (Sylvia & her dad, her mum wanting to be an actress again) just felt like vague stabs at livening the story up. It's a shame because like I said, the story itself had so much potential but it turned out to just be a slog to get through.
This was such a sweet book, and I liked that it was heartwarming without being weepy. The ending was super cheesy but I didn't even care because it left me feeling all warm inside!
