I'm torn on this book. In some respects, I want to give it four stars, because I did genuinely like the story. But other aspects I really disliked and would give one or two stars, like the over-use of epithets and some plot and character issues. Having been written at such a young age, though, it's impressive, and I think all the problems other than the disappointing ending will easily be ironed out as Saxon develops as a writer and with age. So I'm going in the middle with three stars.

I began listening to this on audio, and was really not enjoying it due to finding the guy's voice annoying (especially his godawful accent for Newt). But enjoyed it much more when I switched to the book, though I still found the slang words kind of annoying. Really looking forward to the film, though!
