I decided to read this purely because I’ve never read a “YouTuber book” before, so I thought I’d try it. I don’t have a reason for picking this one specifically, only that I know who Dan and Phil are (I don’t follow many YouTubers.) It was alright, nothing special, but it was an enjoyable enough experience. I think I made the right decision in going for the audiobook. Yes it’s without all the pictures and things, but the audiobook felt more like a podcast, with Dan and Phil commenting on the things they had written and having unscripted chats. That appealed to me, it made everything feel a lot more warm and relaxed, which is what I needed for a sick-day read (or listen.)

I feel like if you’re a massive Phan you would absolutely love this. For a casual viewer of some of their videos it’s nice to get to know a bit more about them, but ultimately it’s not a book you’d ever have strong feelings about. If you have no idea who Dan and Phil are, you’d probably give up in the first five minutes.
