It's my first one from this author and I've been meaning to dive into the Trollkin Lovers series for a while. Gimme size difference and watch me sweat. I'll definitely read more from this series, this was such a heartfelt friends to lovers novella. For the hero, it's really always been her. The heroine rescued him as a child and he lived for her and yearned after her. There was fierce loyalty on both sides that made my heart ache.
Thanks to Lyonne Riley for the review copy and this is my honest review.

Gentle and heartwarming story of 4 women and a cooking contest set during WWII Britain with ingenious use of food and war time rations. It was beautiful the way their friendships developed from adversaries and their connections through cooking. I really want to try a chicken cacciatore now.
Jasmine Blackborow's narration for the audiobook was superb.

Ex boyfriend's dad who has a dirty mouth and loves cum play? Say no more, bud. It's a jolly good time in the mountain snowed in with a grumpy cowboy and defiling his truck.

I see why people say this is a very average book because it is. Maybe it's the first book of a series syndrome where there were many unfulfilled plot lines so it felt unfinished. I did enjoy the hero and heroine dynamics even if it did get tiring. There was just too much of everything, too many characters and drama that I didn't care for, but I loved the heroine forward focus of her undressing him and her taking the lead in many encounters.

Came for the randiness of banging best friend's dad but stayed for the emotional moments between the heroine and her parents.

Insta-love spicy novella between a firefighter hero and a librarian heroine. I appreciate the pure obsessive nature of the hero.

I loved the concept of the mushroom and vines hero paired with the logical, straight-laced heroine, both irresistibly drawn to each other on a primal level. The eerie, rainy Scottish setting and the woodsy atmosphere was haunting, plus the unhingedness captured my undivided attention and it fullfilled my 5-a-day.
You may like it if you enjoy a gothic and mystery read set on an university campus with the main characters with no morel compass doing lots of truffle shuffle. Then some shiitake happened and unsurprisingly, there's a secret society. I have so mushroom in my heart for the cruel hero and how off kilter the heroine made him feel.
It did feel like something was lacking in the end but I'm just happy these two crazy kids have each other.

This is everything I wanted between a young woman and an older man, just straight up hotness nonstop
